KJV 1 I said, I will take heed to my ways, that I sin not with my tongue: I will keep my mouth with a bridle, while the wicked is before me.

WLC 1 לַמְנַצֵּ֥חַ מִזְמ֥וֹר לְדָוִֽד׃

KJV 2 I was dumb with silence, I held my peace, even from good; and my sorrow was stirred.

VULC 2 [Exspectans exspectavi Dominum,
et intendit mihi.

WLC 2 אָמַ֗רְתִּי אֶֽשְׁמְרָ֣ה דְרָכַי֮ מֵחֲט֪וֹא בִלְשׁ֫וֹנִ֥י אֶשְׁמְרָ֥ה לְפִ֥י מַחְס֑וֹם בְּעֹ֖ד רָשָׁ֣ע לְנֶגְדִּֽי׃

KJV 3 My heart was hot within me, while I was musing the fire burned: then spake I with my tongue,

VULC 3 Et exaudivit preces meas,
et eduxit me de lacu miseriæ et de luto fæcis.
Et statuit super petram pedes meos,
et direxit gressus meos.

WLC 3 נֶאֱלַ֣מְתִּי ד֭וּמִיָּה הֶחֱשֵׁ֣יתִי מִטּ֑וֹב וּכְאֵבִ֥י נֶעְכָּֽר׃

KJV 4 LORD, make me to know mine end, and the measure of my days, what it is: that I may know how frail I am.

VULC 4 Et immisit in os meum canticum novum,
carmen Deo nostro.
Videbunt multi, et timebunt,
et sperabunt in Domino.

WLC 4 חַם־ לִבִּ֨י ׀ בְּקִרְבִּ֗י בַּהֲגִיגִ֥י תִבְעַר־ אֵ֑שׁ דִּ֝בַּ֗רְתִּי בִּלְשֽׁוֹנִי׃

KJV 5 Behold, thou hast made my days as an handbreadth; and mine age is as nothing before thee: verily every man at his best state is altogether vanity. Selah.

VULC 5 Beatus vir cujus est nomen Domini spes ejus,
et non respexit in vanitates et insanias falsas.

WLC 5 הוֹדִ֘יעֵ֤נִי יְהוָ֨ה ׀ קִצִּ֗י וּמִדַּ֣ת יָמַ֣י מַה־ הִ֑יא אֵ֝דְעָ֗ה מֶה־ חָדֵ֥ל אָֽנִי׃

KJV 6 Surely every man walketh in a vain shew: surely they are disquieted in vain: he heapeth up riches, and knoweth not who shall gather them.

VULC 6 Multa fecisti tu, Domine Deus meus, mirabilia tua ;
et cogitationibus tuis non est qui similis sit tibi.
Annuntiavi et locutus sum :
multiplicati sunt super numerum.

WLC 6 הִנֵּ֤ה טְפָח֨וֹת ׀ נָ֘תַ֤תָּה יָמַ֗י וְחֶלְדִּ֣י כְאַ֣יִן נֶגְדֶּ֑ךָ אַ֥ךְ כָּֽל־ הֶ֥בֶל כָּל־ אָ֝דָ֗ם נִצָּ֥ב סֶֽלָה׃

KJV 7 And now, Lord, what wait I for? my hope is in thee.

VULC 7 Sacrificium et oblationem noluisti ;
aures autem perfecisti mihi.
Holocaustum et pro peccato non postulasti ;

WLC 7 אַךְ־ בְּצֶ֤לֶם ׀ יִֽתְהַלֶּךְ־ אִ֗ישׁ אַךְ־ הֶ֥בֶל יֶהֱמָי֑וּן יִ֝צְבֹּ֗ר וְֽלֹא־ יֵדַ֥ע מִי־ אֹסְפָֽם׃

KJV 8 Deliver me from all my transgressions: make me not the reproach of the foolish.

VULC 8 tunc dixi : Ecce venio.
In capite libri scriptum est de me,

WLC 8 וְעַתָּ֣ה מַה־ קִּוִּ֣יתִי אֲדֹנָ֑י תּ֝וֹחַלְתִּ֗י לְךָ֣ הִֽיא׃

KJV 9 I was dumb, I opened not my mouth; because thou didst it.

VULC 9 ut facerem voluntatem tuam.
Deus meus, volui,
et legem tuam in medio cordis mei.

WLC 9 מִכָּל־ פְּשָׁעַ֥י הַצִּילֵ֑נִי חֶרְפַּ֥ת נָ֝בָ֗ל אַל־ תְּשִׂימֵֽנִי׃

KJV 10 Remove thy stroke away from me: I am consumed by the blow of thine hand.

VULC 10 Annuntiavi justitiam tuam in ecclesia magna ;
ecce labia mea non prohibebo : Domine, tu scisti.

WLC 10 נֶ֭אֱלַמְתִּי לֹ֣א אֶפְתַּח־ פִּ֑י כִּ֖י אַתָּ֣ה עָשִֽׂיתָ׃

KJV 11 When thou with rebukes dost correct man for iniquity, thou makest his beauty to consume away like a moth: surely every man is vanity. Selah.

VULC 11 Justitiam tuam non abscondi in corde meo ;
veritatem tuam et salutare tuum dixi ;
non abscondi misericordiam tuam et veritatem tuam a concilio multo.

WLC 11 הָסֵ֣ר מֵעָלַ֣י נִגְעֶ֑ךָ מִתִּגְרַ֥ת יָ֝דְךָ֗ אֲנִ֣י כָלִֽיתִי׃

KJV 12 Hear my prayer, O LORD, and give ear unto my cry; hold not thy peace at my tears: for I am a stranger with thee, and a sojourner, as all my fathers were.

VULC 12 Tu autem, Domine, ne longe facias miserationes tuas a me ;
misericordia tua et veritas tua semper susceperunt me.

WLC 12 בְּֽתוֹכָ֘ח֤וֹת עַל־ עָוֺ֨ן ׀ יִסַּ֬רְתָּ אִ֗ישׁ וַתֶּ֣מֶס כָּעָ֣שׁ חֲמוּד֑וֹ אַ֤ךְ הֶ֖בֶל כָּל־ אָדָ֣ם סֶֽלָה׃

KJV 13 O spare me, that I may recover strength, before I go hence, and be no more.

VULC 13 Quoniam circumdederunt me mala quorum non est numerus ;
comprehenderunt me iniquitates meæ, et non potui ut viderem.
Multiplicatæ sunt super capillos capitis mei,
et cor meum dereliquit me.

WLC 13 שִֽׁמְעָ֥ה־ תְפִלָּתִ֨י ׀ יְהוָ֡ה וְשַׁוְעָתִ֨י ׀ הַאֲזִינָה֮ אֶֽל־ דִּמְעָתִ֗י אַֽל־ תֶּ֫חֱרַ֥שׁ כִּ֤י גֵ֣ר אָנֹכִ֣י עִמָּ֑ךְ תּ֝וֹשָׁ֗ב כְּכָל־ אֲבוֹתָֽי׃

VULC 14 Complaceat tibi, Domine, ut eruas me ;
Domine, ad adjuvandum me respice.

WLC 14 הָשַׁ֣ע מִמֶּ֣נִּי וְאַבְלִ֑יגָה בְּטֶ֖רֶם אֵלֵ֣ךְ וְאֵינֶֽנִּי׃

VULC 15 Confundantur et revereantur simul,
qui quærunt animam meam ut auferant eam ;
convertantur retrorsum et revereantur,
qui volunt mihi mala.

VULC 16 Ferant confestim confusionem suam,
qui dicunt mihi : Euge, euge !

VULC 17 Exsultent et lætentur super te omnes quærentes te ;
et dicant semper : Magnificetur Dominus, qui diligunt salutare tuum.

VULC 18 Ego autem mendicus sum et pauper ;
Dominus sollicitus est mei.
Adjutor meus et protector meus tu es ;
Deus meus, ne tardaveris.]
