KJV ⁴ He shall choose our inheritance for us, the excellency of Jacob whom he loved. Selah.

MAR ⁴ Il range les peuples sous nous, et les nations, sous nos pieds.

KJV ⁵ God is gone up with a shout, the LORD with the sound of a trumpet.

MAR ⁵ Il nous a choisi, notre héritage, qui est la magnificence de Jacob, lequel il aime ; Sélah.

KJV ⁶ Sing praises to God, sing praises: sing praises unto our King, sing praises.

MAR ⁶ Dieu est monté avec un cri de réjouissance ; l'Eternel [est monté] avec un son de trompette.

KJV ² Beautiful for situation, the joy of the whole earth, is mount Zion, on the sides of the north, the city of the great King.

MAR ² L'Eternel est grand, et fort louable en la ville de notre Dieu, en la montagne de sa Sainteté.

KJV ³ God is known in her palaces for a refuge.

MAR ³ Le plus beau de la contrée, la joie de toute la terre, c'est la montagne de Sion au fond de l'Aquilon ; c'est la ville du grand Roi.

KJV ⁴ For, lo, the kings were assembled, they passed by together.

MAR ⁴ Dieu est connu en ses palais pour une haute retraite.

KJV ⁵ They saw it, and so they marvelled; they were troubled, and hasted away.

MAR ⁵ Car voici, les Rois s'étaient donné assignation, ils avaient passé outre tous ensemble.

KJV ⁶ Fear took hold upon them there, and pain, as of a woman in travail.

MAR ⁶ L'ont-ils vue ? ils en ont été aussitôt étonnés ; ils ont été tout troublés, ils s'en sont fuis à l'étourdie.

KJV ⁷ Thou breakest the ships of Tarshish with an east wind.

MAR ⁷ Là le tremblement les a saisis, [et] une douleur comme de celle qui enfante.

KJV ⁸ As we have heard, so have we seen in the city of the LORD of hosts, in the city of our God: God will establish it for ever. Selah.

MAR ⁸ [Ils ont été chassés comme] par le vent d'Orient [qui] brise les navires de Tarsis.

KJV ⁹ We have thought of thy lovingkindness, O God, in the midst of thy temple.

MAR ⁹ Comme nous l'avions entendu, ainsi l'avons-nous vu dans la ville de l'Eternel des armées, dans la ville de notre Dieu, laquelle Dieu maintiendra à toujours ; Sélah.

KJV ¹⁰ According to thy name, O God, so is thy praise unto the ends of the earth: thy right hand is full of righteousness.

MAR ¹² La montagne de Sion se réjouira, et les filles de Juda auront de la joie, à cause de tes jugements.

KJV ¹³ Mark ye well her bulwarks, consider her palaces; that ye may tell it to the generation following.

MAR ¹³ Environnez Sion, et l'entourez, [et] comptez ses tours.

KJV ¹⁴ For this God is our God for ever and ever: he will be our guide even unto death.

KJV ² Both low and high, rich and poor, together.

MAR ² Vous tous peuples, entendez ceci ; vous habitants du monde, prêtez l'oreille.

KJV ³ My mouth shall speak of wisdom; and the meditation of my heart shall be of understanding.

MAR ³ Que ceux du bas état, et ceux qui sont d'une condition élevée écoutent ; pareillement le riche et le pauvre.

KJV ⁴ I will incline mine ear to a parable: I will open my dark saying upon the harp.

MAR ⁴ Ma bouche prononcera des discours pleins de sagesse, et ce que mon coeur a médité sont des choses pleines de sens.

KJV ⁵ Wherefore should I fear in the days of evil, when the iniquity of my heels shall compass me about?

MAR ⁵ Je prêterai l'oreille à un propos sentencieux, j'exposerai mes dits notables sur le violon.

KJV ⁶ They that trust in their wealth, and boast themselves in the multitude of their riches;

MAR ⁶ Pourquoi craindrai-je au mauvais temps, quand l'iniquité de mes talons m'environnera ?

KJV ⁷ None of them can by any means redeem his brother, nor give to God a ransom for him:

MAR ⁷ Il y en a qui se fient en leurs biens, et qui se glorifient en l'abondance de leurs richesses.

KJV ⁸ (For the redemption of their soul is precious, and it ceaseth for ever:)

MAR ⁸ Personne ne pourra avec ses richesses racheter son frère, ni donner à Dieu sa rançon.

KJV ⁹ That he should still live for ever, and not see corruption.

MAR ⁹ Car le rachat de leur âme est trop considérable, et il ne se fera jamais ;

KJV ¹⁰ For he seeth that wise men die, likewise the fool and the brutish person perish, and leave their wealth to others.

MAR ¹⁰ Pour faire qu'il vive encore à jamais et qu'il ne voie point la fosse.

KJV ¹¹ Their inward thought is, that their houses shall continue for ever, and their dwelling places to all generations; they call their lands after their own names.

MAR ¹¹ Car on voit que les sages meurent, et pareillement que le fol et l'abruti périssent, et qu'ils laissent leurs biens à d'autres.

KJV ¹² Nevertheless man being in honour abideth not: he is like the beasts that perish.

MAR ¹² Leur intention est que leurs maisons durent à toujours, et que leurs habitations demeurent d'âge en âge ; ils ont appelé les terres de leur nom ;

KJV ¹³ This their way is their folly: yet their posterity approve their sayings. Selah.

MAR ¹³ Et toutefois l'homme ne se maintient point dans ses honneurs, [mais] il est rendu semblable aux bêtes brutes qui périssent [entièrement].

KJV ¹⁴ Like sheep they are laid in the grave; death shall feed on them; and the upright shall have dominion over them in the morning; and their beauty shall consume in the grave from their dwelling.

MAR ¹⁴ Ce chemin qu'ils tiennent, leur tourne à folie, [et néanmoins] leurs successeurs prennent plaisir à leurs enseignements ; Sélah.

KJV ¹⁵ But God will redeem my soul from the power of the grave: for he shall receive me. Selah.

MAR ¹⁵ Ils seront mis au sépulcre comme des brebis ; la mort se repaîtra d'eux, et les hommes droits auront domination sur eux au matin, et leur force sera le sépulcre pour les y faire consumer, chacun d'eux étant transporté hors de son domicile.

KJV ¹⁶ Be not thou afraid when one is made rich, when the glory of his house is increased;

MAR ¹⁸ Car lorsqu'il mourra, il n'emportera rien ; sa gloire ne descendra point après lui.

KJV ¹⁹ He shall go to the generation of his fathers; they shall never see light.

MAR ¹⁹ Quoiqu'il ait béni son âme en sa vie, et quoiqu'on te loue parce que tu te seras fait du bien ;

KJV ²⁰ Man that is in honour, and understandeth not, is like the beasts that perish.

MAR ²⁰ Venant jusques à la race des pères de chacun d'eux, [ce sera comme] s'ils n'avaient jamais vu la lumière.

MAR ¹⁰ Les principaux des peuples se sont assembles [vers] le peuple du Dieu d'Abraham ; car les boucliers de la terre sont à Dieu ; il est fort exalté.

MAR ¹⁵ Car c'est le Dieu qui est notre Dieu à toujours et à perpétuité ; il nous accompagnera jusques à la mort.

MAR ²¹ L'homme qui est en honneur, [et] n'a point d'intelligence, est semblable aux bêtes brutes qui périssent [entièrement]
