KJV ¹ Hear this, all ye people; give ear, all ye inhabitants of the world:

WLC ¹ לַמְנַצֵּ֬חַ ׀ לִבְנֵי־ קֹ֬רַח מִזְמֽוֹר׃

BCC ² Écoutez tous ceci, ô peuples ; prêtez l'oreille vous tous habitants du monde,

KJV ² Both low and high, rich and poor, together.

WLC ² שִׁמְעוּ־ זֹ֭את כָּל־ הָֽעַמִּ֑ים הַ֝אֲזִ֗ינוּ כָּל־ יֹ֥שְׁבֵי חָֽלֶד׃

BCC ³ hommes du commun et hommes de condition, ensemble riches et pauvres.

KJV ³ My mouth shall speak of wisdom; and the meditation of my heart shall be of understanding.

WLC ³ גַּם־ בְּנֵ֣י אָ֭דָם גַּם־ בְּנֵי־ אִ֑ישׁ יַ֝֗חַד עָשִׁ֥יר וְאֶבְיֽוֹן׃

BCC ⁴ Ma bouche va faire entendre des paroles sages, et mon coeur a des pensées pleines de sens.

KJV ⁴ I will incline mine ear to a parable: I will open my dark saying upon the harp.

WLC ⁴ פִּ֭י יְדַבֵּ֣ר חָכְמ֑וֹת וְהָג֖וּת לִבִּ֣י תְבוּנֽוֹת׃

KJV ⁵ Wherefore should I fear in the days of evil, when the iniquity of my heels shall compass me about?

WLC ⁵ אַטֶּ֣ה לְמָשָׁ֣ל אָזְנִ֑י אֶפְתַּ֥ח בְּ֝כִנּ֗וֹר חִידָתִֽי׃

BCC ⁶ Pourquoi craindrais-je aux jours du malheur, lorsque l'iniquité de mes persécuteurs m'assiège ?

KJV ⁶ They that trust in their wealth, and boast themselves in the multitude of their riches;

WLC ⁶ לָ֣מָּה אִ֭ירָא בִּ֣ימֵי רָ֑ע עֲוֺ֖ן עֲקֵבַ֣י יְסוּבֵּֽנִי׃

BCC ⁷ Eux qui mettent leur confiance dans leurs biens, leur gloire dans leurs grandes richesses !

KJV ⁷ None of them can by any means redeem his brother, nor give to God a ransom for him:

WLC ⁷ הַבֹּטְחִ֥ים עַל־ חֵילָ֑ם וּבְרֹ֥ב עָ֝שְׁרָ֗ם יִתְהַלָּֽלוּ׃

BCC ⁸ Un homme ne peut racheter son frère, ni payer à Dieu sa rançon.

BCC ⁹ Le rachat de leur vie est trop cher ; il est à jamais impossible,

KJV ⁹ That he should still live for ever, and not see corruption.

WLC ⁹ וְ֭יֵקַר פִּדְי֥וֹן נַפְשָׁ֗ם וְחָדַ֥ל לְעוֹלָֽם׃

BCC ¹⁰ pour qu'il vive éternellement, et qu'il ne voie jamais la fosse.

KJV ¹⁰ For he seeth that wise men die, likewise the fool and the brutish person perish, and leave their wealth to others.

WLC ¹⁰ וִֽיחִי־ ע֥וֹד לָנֶ֑צַח לֹ֖א יִרְאֶ֣ה הַשָּֽׁחַת׃

BCC ¹¹ Non, il la verra ; les sages meurent ; l'insensé et le stupide périssent également, laissant à d'autres leurs biens.

KJV ¹¹ Their inward thought is, that their houses shall continue for ever, and their dwelling places to all generations; they call their lands after their own names.

WLC ¹¹ כִּ֤י יִרְאֶ֨ה ׀ חֲכָ֘מִ֤ים יָמ֗וּתוּ יַ֤חַד כְּסִ֣יל וָבַ֣עַר יֹאבֵ֑דוּ וְעָזְב֖וּ לַאֲחֵרִ֣ים חֵילָֽם׃

BCC ¹² Ils s'imaginent que leurs maisons seront éternelles ; que leurs demeures subsisteront d'âge en âge, et ils donnent leurs noms à leurs domaines.

KJV ¹² Nevertheless man being in honour abideth not: he is like the beasts that perish.

WLC ¹² קִרְבָּ֤ם בָּתֵּ֨ימוֹ ׀ לְֽעוֹלָ֗ם מִ֭שְׁכְּנֹתָם לְדֹ֣ר וָדֹ֑ר קָֽרְא֥וּ בִ֝שְׁמוֹתָ֗ם עֲלֵ֣י אֲדָמֽוֹת׃

BCC ¹³ Mais, même dans sa splendeur, l'homme ne dure pas ; il est semblable aux biches qui périssent.

KJV ¹³ This their way is their folly: yet their posterity approve their sayings. Selah.

WLC ¹³ וְאָדָ֣ם בִּ֭יקָר בַּל־ יָלִ֑ין נִמְשַׁ֖ל כַּבְּהֵמ֣וֹת נִדְמֽוּ׃

BCC ¹⁴ Tel est leur sort, à ces hommes si confiants, et à ceux qui les suivent en approuvant leurs discours. ‒ Séla.

KJV ¹⁴ Like sheep they are laid in the grave; death shall feed on them; and the upright shall have dominion over them in the morning; and their beauty shall consume in the grave from their dwelling.

WLC ¹⁴ זֶ֣ה דַ֭רְכָּם כֵּ֣סֶל לָ֑מוֹ וְאַחֲרֵיהֶ֓ם ׀ בְּפִיהֶ֖ם יִרְצ֣וּ סֶֽלָה׃

BCC ¹⁵ Comme un troupeau, ils sont poussés dans le schéol, la mort est leur pasteur ; le matin, les hommes droits dominent sur eux, et leur ombre se consumera au schéol, sans autre demeure.

KJV ¹⁵ But God will redeem my soul from the power of the grave: for he shall receive me. Selah.

WLC ¹⁵ כַּצֹּ֤אן ׀ לִֽשְׁא֣וֹל שַׁתּוּ֮ מָ֤וֶת יִ֫רְעֵ֥ם וַיִּרְדּ֘וּ בָ֤ם יְשָׁרִ֨ים ׀ לַבֹּ֗קֶר לְבַלּ֥וֹת שְׁא֗וֹל מִזְּבֻ֥ל לֽוֹ׃

BCC ¹⁶ Mais Dieu rachètera mon âme de la puissance du schéol, car il me prendra avec lui. ‒ Séla.

KJV ¹⁶ Be not thou afraid when one is made rich, when the glory of his house is increased;

WLC ¹⁶ אַךְ־ אֱלֹהִ֗ים יִפְדֶּ֣ה נַ֭פְשִׁי מִֽיַּד־ שְׁא֑וֹל כִּ֖י יִקָּחֵ֣נִי סֶֽלָה׃

BCC ¹⁷ Ne crains donc pas, quand un homme s'enrichit, quand s'accroît l'opulence de sa maison.

KJV ¹⁷ For when he dieth he shall carry nothing away: his glory shall not descend after him.

WLC ¹⁷ אַל־ תִּ֭ירָא כִּֽי־ יַעֲשִׁ֣ר אִ֑ישׁ כִּֽי־ יִ֝רְבֶּה כְּב֣וֹד בֵּיתֽוֹ׃

BCC ¹⁸ Car il n'emportera rien à sa mort, son opulence ne descendra pas avec lui.

KJV ¹⁹ He shall go to the generation of his fathers; they shall never see light.

WLC ¹⁹ כִּֽי־ נַ֭פְשׁוֹ בְּחַיָּ֣יו יְבָרֵ֑ךְ וְ֝יוֹדֻ֗ךָ כִּי־ תֵיטִ֥יב לָֽךְ׃

BCC ²⁰ Tu iras rejoindre la génération de tes pères, qui jamais ne reverront la lumière.
