et vocavit terram a solis ortu usque ad occasum.

KJV ² Both low and high, rich and poor, together.

VULC ² Ex Sion species decoris ejus :

KJV ³ My mouth shall speak of wisdom; and the meditation of my heart shall be of understanding.

VULC ³ Deus manifeste veniet ;
Deus noster, et non silebit.
Ignis in conspectu ejus exardescet ;
et in circuitu ejus tempestas valida.

KJV ⁴ I will incline mine ear to a parable: I will open my dark saying upon the harp.

VULC ⁴ Advocabit cælum desursum, et terram,
discernere populum suum.

KJV ⁵ Wherefore should I fear in the days of evil, when the iniquity of my heels shall compass me about?

VULC ⁵ Congregate illi sanctos ejus,
qui ordinant testamentum ejus super sacrificia.

KJV ⁶ They that trust in their wealth, and boast themselves in the multitude of their riches;

VULC ⁶ Et annuntiabunt cæli justitiam ejus,
quoniam Deus judex est.

KJV ⁷ None of them can by any means redeem his brother, nor give to God a ransom for him:

VULC ⁷ Audi, populus meus, et loquar ;
Israël, et testificabor tibi :
Deus, Deus tuus ego sum.

KJV ⁸ (For the redemption of their soul is precious, and it ceaseth for ever:)

VULC ⁸ Non in sacrificiis tuis arguam te ;
holocausta autem tua in conspectu meo sunt semper.

KJV ⁹ That he should still live for ever, and not see corruption.

VULC ⁹ Non accipiam de domo tua vitulos,
neque de gregibus tuis hircos :

KJV ¹⁰ For he seeth that wise men die, likewise the fool and the brutish person perish, and leave their wealth to others.

VULC ¹⁰ quoniam meæ sunt omnes feræ silvarum,
jumenta in montibus, et boves.

KJV ¹¹ Their inward thought is, that their houses shall continue for ever, and their dwelling places to all generations; they call their lands after their own names.

VULC ¹¹ Cognovi omnia volatilia cæli,
et pulchritudo agri mecum est.

KJV ¹² Nevertheless man being in honour abideth not: he is like the beasts that perish.

VULC ¹² Si esuriero, non dicam tibi :
meus est enim orbis terræ et plenitudo ejus.

KJV ¹³ This their way is their folly: yet their posterity approve their sayings. Selah.

VULC ¹³ Numquid manducabo carnes taurorum ?
aut sanguinem hircorum potabo ?

KJV ¹⁴ Like sheep they are laid in the grave; death shall feed on them; and the upright shall have dominion over them in the morning; and their beauty shall consume in the grave from their dwelling.

VULC ¹⁴ Immola Deo sacrificium laudis,
et redde Altissimo vota tua.

KJV ¹⁵ But God will redeem my soul from the power of the grave: for he shall receive me. Selah.

VULC ¹⁵ Et invoca me in die tribulationis :
eruam te, et honorificabis me.

KJV ¹⁶ Be not thou afraid when one is made rich, when the glory of his house is increased;

VULC ¹⁶ Peccatori autem dixit Deus : Quare tu enarras justitias meas ?
et assumis testamentum meum per os tuum ?

KJV ¹⁷ For when he dieth he shall carry nothing away: his glory shall not descend after him.

VULC ¹⁷ Tu vero odisti disciplinam,
et projecisti sermones meos retrorsum.

KJV ¹⁸ Though while he lived he blessed his soul: and men will praise thee, when thou doest well to thyself.

VULC ¹⁸ Si videbas furem, currebas cum eo ;
et cum adulteris portionem tuam ponebas.

KJV ¹⁹ He shall go to the generation of his fathers; they shall never see light.

VULC ¹⁹ Os tuum abundavit malitia,
et lingua tua concinnabat dolos.

KJV ²⁰ Man that is in honour, and understandeth not, is like the beasts that perish.

VULC ²⁰ Sedens adversus fratrem tuum loquebaris,
et adversus filium matris tuæ ponebas scandalum.

VULC ²¹ Hæc fecisti, et tacui.
Existimasti inique quod ero tui similis :
arguam te, et statuam contra faciem tuam.

VULC ²² Intelligite hæc, qui obliviscimini Deum,
nequando rapiat, et non sit qui eripiat.

VULC ²³ Sacrificium laudis honorificabit me,
et illic iter quo ostendam illi salutare Dei.]
