Dieu, Dieu, l'Eternel, parle et convoque la terre
du lever du soleil jusqu'à son coucher.

KJV ² Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God hath shined.

S21 ² De Sion, beauté parfaite,
Dieu resplendit.

KJV ³ Our God shall come, and shall not keep silence: a fire shall devour before him, and it shall be very tempestuous round about him.

S21 ³ Il vient, notre Dieu, il ne reste pas silencieux;
devant lui est un feu dévorant,
autour de lui une violente tempête.

KJV ⁴ He shall call to the heavens from above, and to the earth, that he may judge his people.

S21 ⁴ Il convoque le ciel en haut,
il convoque aussi la terre, pour le jugement de son peuple:

KJV ⁵ Gather my saints together unto me; those that have made a covenant with me by sacrifice.

S21 ⁵ «Rassemblez-moi mes fidèles,
ceux qui ont fait alliance avec moi par un sacrifice!»

KJV ⁶ And the heavens shall declare his righteousness: for God is judge himself. Selah.

S21 ⁶ Le ciel proclamera sa justice,
car c'est Dieu qui est juge.    – Pause.

KJV ⁷ Hear, O my people, and I will speak; O Israel, and I will testify against thee: I am God, even thy God.

S21 ⁷ «Ecoute, mon peuple, et je parlerai,
Israël, et je t'avertirai.
Je suis Dieu, ton Dieu.

KJV ⁸ I will not reprove thee for thy sacrifices or thy burnt offerings, to have been continually before me.

S21 ⁸ Ce n'est pas pour tes sacrifices que je te fais des reproches:
tes holocaustes sont constamment devant moi.

KJV ⁹ I will take no bullock out of thy house, nor he goats out of thy folds.

S21 ⁹ Je ne prendrai pas un taureau dans ta maison,
ni des boucs dans tes bergeries,

KJV ¹⁰ For every beast of the forest is mine, and the cattle upon a thousand hills.

S21 ¹⁰ car tous les animaux des forêts sont à moi,
toutes les bêtes des montagnes par milliers.

KJV ¹¹ I know all the fowls of the mountains: and the wild beasts of the field are mine.

S21 ¹¹ Je connais tous les oiseaux des montagnes,
et tous les animaux sauvages m'appartiennent.

KJV ¹² If I were hungry, I would not tell thee: for the world is mine, and the fulness thereof.

S21 ¹² Si j'avais faim, je ne te le dirais pas,
car le monde est à moi, avec tout ce qu'il contient.

KJV ¹³ Will I eat the flesh of bulls, or drink the blood of goats?

S21 ¹³ Est-ce que je mange la viande des taureaux?
Est-ce que je bois le sang des boucs?

KJV ¹⁴ Offer unto God thanksgiving; and pay thy vows unto the most High:

S21 ¹⁴ Offre en sacrifice à Dieu ta reconnaissance,
et accomplis tes vœux envers le Très-Haut.

KJV ¹⁵ And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.

S21 ¹⁵ Fais appel à moi quand tu es dans la détresse:
je te délivrerai, et tu m'honoreras.»

KJV ¹⁶ But unto the wicked God saith, What hast thou to do to declare my statutes, or that thou shouldest take my covenant in thy mouth?

S21 ¹⁶ Dieu dit au méchant:
«Quoi donc! Tu énumères mes prescriptions
et tu as mon alliance à la bouche,

KJV ¹⁷ Seeing thou hatest instruction, and casteth my words behind thee.

S21 ¹⁷ toi qui détestes l'instruction
et qui rejettes mes paroles derrière toi!

KJV ¹⁸ When thou sawest a thief, then thou consentedst with him, and hast been partaker with adulterers.

S21 ¹⁸ Si tu vois un voleur, tu te plais en sa compagnie,
et tu prends place avec les adultères.

KJV ¹⁹ Thou givest thy mouth to evil, and thy tongue frameth deceit.

S21 ¹⁹ Tu livres ta bouche au mal,
et ta langue est un tissu de tromperies.

KJV ²⁰ Thou sittest and speakest against thy brother; thou slanderest thine own mother's son.

S21 ²⁰ Si tu t'assieds, c'est pour parler contre ton frère,
pour dénigrer le fils de ta mère.

KJV ²¹ These things hast thou done, and I kept silence; thou thoughtest that I was altogether such an one as thyself: but I will reprove thee, and set them in order before thine eyes.

S21 ²¹ Voilà ce que tu as fait et, parce que je n'ai rien dit,
tu t'es imaginé que je te ressemblais;
mais je vais te reprendre et tout mettre sous tes yeux.

KJV ²² Now consider this, ye that forget God, lest I tear you in pieces, and there be none to deliver.

S21 ²² Comprenez donc bien cela, vous qui oubliez Dieu,
de peur que je ne vous déchire sans personne pour vous délivrer.

KJV ²³ Whoso offereth praise glorifieth me: and to him that ordereth his conversation aright will I shew the salvation of God.

S21 ²³ Celui qui offre en sacrifice sa reconnaissance m'honore,
et à celui qui veille sur sa conduite
je ferai voir le salut de Dieu.»
