KJV ¹ Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions.

WLC ¹ לַמְנַצֵּ֗חַ מִזְמ֥וֹר לְדָוִֽד׃

BAN ² Lorsque Nathan, le prophète, vint à lui, après qu'il fut allé vers Bathséba.

KJV ² Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.

WLC ² בְּֽבוֹא־ אֵ֭לָיו נָתָ֣ן הַנָּבִ֑יא כַּֽאֲשֶׁר־ בָּ֝֗א אֶל־ בַּת־ שָֽׁבַע׃

BAN ³ Fais-moi grâce, ô Dieu, selon ta miséricorde ;
Selon la grandeur de tes compassions,
Efface mes forfaits.

KJV ³ For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me.

WLC ³ חָנֵּ֣נִי אֱלֹהִ֣ים כְּחַסְדֶּ֑ךָ כְּרֹ֥ב רַ֝חֲמֶ֗יךָ מְחֵ֣ה פְשָׁעָֽי׃

BAN ⁴ Lave, lave encore, enlève mon iniquité,
Et purifie-moi de mon péché.

KJV ⁴ Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight: that thou mightest be justified when thou speakest, and be clear when thou judgest.

WLC ⁴ כַּבְּסֵ֣נִי מֵעֲוֺנִ֑י וּֽמֵחַטָּאתִ֥י טַהֲרֵֽנִי׃

BAN ⁵ Car je connais mes forfaits,
Et mon péché est continuellement devant moi.

KJV ⁵ Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.

WLC ⁵ כִּֽי־ פְ֭שָׁעַי אֲנִ֣י אֵדָ֑ע וְחַטָּאתִ֖י נֶגְדִּ֣י תָמִֽיד׃

BAN ⁶ C'est contre toi, contre toi seul que j'ai péché ;
J'ai fait ce qui est mal à tes yeux,
Afin que tu sois reconnu juste, quand tu parleras,
Pur, quand tu jugeras.

KJV ⁶ Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part thou shalt make me to know wisdom.

WLC ⁶ לְךָ֤ לְבַדְּךָ֨ ׀ חָטָאתִי֮ וְהָרַ֥ע בְּעֵינֶ֗יךָ עָ֫שִׂ֥יתִי לְ֭מַעַן תִּצְדַּ֥ק בְּדָבְרֶ֗ךָ תִּזְכֶּ֥ה בְשָׁפְטֶֽךָ׃

BAN ⁷ Voilà ! je suis né dans l'iniquité,
Et ma mère m'a conçu dans le péché ;

KJV ⁷ Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.

WLC ⁷ הֵן־ בְּעָו֥וֹן חוֹלָ֑לְתִּי וּ֝בְחֵ֗טְא יֶֽחֱמַ֥תְנִי אִמִּֽי׃

BAN ⁸ Voilà ! tu aimes la vérité dans l'intérieur,
Et tu m'as enseigné la sagesse dans le secret de mon âme !...

KJV ⁸ Make me to hear joy and gladness; that the bones which thou hast broken may rejoice.

WLC ⁸ הֵן־ אֱ֭מֶת חָפַ֣צְתָּ בַטֻּח֑וֹת וּ֝בְסָתֻ֗ם חָכְמָ֥ה תוֹדִיעֵֽנִי׃

BAN ⁹ Purifie-moi avec l'hysope, et je serai pur ;
Lave-moi, et je serai plus blanc que la neige.

KJV ⁹ Hide thy face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities.

WLC ⁹ תְּחַטְּאֵ֣נִי בְאֵז֣וֹב וְאֶטְהָ֑ר תְּ֝כַבְּסֵ֗נִי וּמִשֶּׁ֥לֶג אַלְבִּֽין׃

BAN ¹⁰ Fais-moi entendre l'allégresse et la joie,
Que les os que tu as brisés se réjouissent !

KJV ¹⁰ Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.

WLC ¹⁰ תַּ֭שְׁמִיעֵנִי שָׂשׂ֣וֹן וְשִׂמְחָ֑ה תָּ֝גֵ֗לְנָה עֲצָמ֥וֹת דִּכִּֽיתָ׃

BAN ¹¹ Détourne ton regard de mes péchés,
Efface toutes mes iniquités ;

KJV ¹¹ Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me.

WLC ¹¹ הַסְתֵּ֣ר פָּ֭נֶיךָ מֵחֲטָאָ֑י וְֽכָל־ עֲוֺ֖נֹתַ֣י מְחֵֽה׃

BAN ¹² O Dieu ! crée en moi un cœur pur,
Et renouvelle un esprit ferme au-dedans de moi ;

KJV ¹² Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit.

WLC ¹² לֵ֣ב טָ֭הוֹר בְּרָא־ לִ֣י אֱלֹהִ֑ים וְר֥וּחַ נָ֝כ֗וֹן חַדֵּ֥שׁ בְּקִרְבִּֽי׃

BAN ¹³ Ne me rejette pas de devant ta face,
Et ne me retire pas ton esprit saint.

KJV ¹³ Then will I teach transgressors thy ways; and sinners shall be converted unto thee.

WLC ¹³ אַל־ תַּשְׁלִיכֵ֥נִי מִלְּפָנֶ֑יךָ וְר֥וּחַ קָ֝דְשְׁךָ֗ אַל־ תִּקַּ֥ח מִמֶּֽנִּי׃
