Psaumes 51:1-13

KJV 1 Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions.

VULC 1 In finem. Intellectus David,

WLC 1 לַמְנַצֵּ֗חַ מִזְמ֥וֹר לְדָוִֽד׃

KJV 2 Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.

VULC 2 cum venit Doëg Idumæus, et nuntiavit Sauli : Venit David in domum Achimelech.

WLC 2 בְּֽבוֹא־ אֵ֭לָיו נָתָ֣ן הַנָּבִ֑יא כַּֽאֲשֶׁר־ בָּ֝֗א אֶל־ בַּת־ שָֽׁבַע׃

KJV 3 For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me.

VULC 3 [Quid gloriaris in malitia,
qui potens es in iniquitate ?

WLC 3 חָנֵּ֣נִי אֱלֹהִ֣ים כְּחַסְדֶּ֑ךָ כְּרֹ֥ב רַ֝חֲמֶ֗יךָ מְחֵ֣ה פְשָׁעָֽי׃

KJV 4 Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight: that thou mightest be justified when thou speakest, and be clear when thou judgest.

VULC 4 Tota die injustitiam cogitavit lingua tua ;
sicut novacula acuta fecisti dolum.

WLC 4 כַּבְּסֵ֣נִי מֵעֲוֺנִ֑י וּֽמֵחַטָּאתִ֥י טַהֲרֵֽנִי׃

KJV 5 Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.

VULC 5 Dilexisti malitiam super benignitatem ;
iniquitatem magis quam loqui æquitatem.

WLC 5 כִּֽי־ פְ֭שָׁעַי אֲנִ֣י אֵדָ֑ע וְחַטָּאתִ֖י נֶגְדִּ֣י תָמִֽיד׃

KJV 6 Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part thou shalt make me to know wisdom.

VULC 6 Dilexisti omnia verba præcipitationis ;
lingua dolosa.

WLC 6 לְךָ֤ לְבַדְּךָ֨ ׀ חָטָאתִי֮ וְהָרַ֥ע בְּעֵינֶ֗יךָ עָ֫שִׂ֥יתִי לְ֭מַעַן תִּצְדַּ֥ק בְּדָבְרֶ֗ךָ תִּזְכֶּ֥ה בְשָׁפְטֶֽךָ׃

KJV 7 Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.

VULC 7 Propterea Deus destruet te in finem ;
evellet te, et emigrabit te de tabernaculo tuo,
et radicem tuam de terra viventium.

WLC 7 הֵן־ בְּעָו֥וֹן חוֹלָ֑לְתִּי וּ֝בְחֵ֗טְא יֶֽחֱמַ֥תְנִי אִמִּֽי׃

KJV 8 Make me to hear joy and gladness; that the bones which thou hast broken may rejoice.

VULC 8 Videbunt justi, et timebunt ;
et super eum ridebunt, et dicent :

WLC 8 הֵן־ אֱ֭מֶת חָפַ֣צְתָּ בַטֻּח֑וֹת וּ֝בְסָתֻ֗ם חָכְמָ֥ה תוֹדִיעֵֽנִי׃

KJV 9 Hide thy face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities.

VULC 9 Ecce homo qui non posuit Deum adjutorem suum ;
sed speravit in multitudine divitiarum suarum,
et prævaluit in vanitate sua.

WLC 9 תְּחַטְּאֵ֣נִי בְאֵז֣וֹב וְאֶטְהָ֑ר תְּ֝כַבְּסֵ֗נִי וּמִשֶּׁ֥לֶג אַלְבִּֽין׃

KJV 10 Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.

VULC 10 Ego autem, sicut oliva fructifera in domo Dei ;
speravi in misericordia Dei, in æternum et in sæculum sæculi.

WLC 10 תַּ֭שְׁמִיעֵנִי שָׂשׂ֣וֹן וְשִׂמְחָ֑ה תָּ֝גֵ֗לְנָה עֲצָמ֥וֹת דִּכִּֽיתָ׃

KJV 11 Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me.

VULC 11 Confitebor tibi in sæculum, quia fecisti ;
et exspectabo nomen tuum,
quoniam bonum est in conspectu sanctorum tuorum.]

WLC 11 הַסְתֵּ֣ר פָּ֭נֶיךָ מֵחֲטָאָ֑י וְֽכָל־ עֲוֺ֖נֹתַ֣י מְחֵֽה׃

KJV 12 Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit.

WLC 12 לֵ֣ב טָ֭הוֹר בְּרָא־ לִ֣י אֱלֹהִ֑ים וְר֥וּחַ נָ֝כ֗וֹן חַדֵּ֥שׁ בְּקִרְבִּֽי׃

KJV 13 Then will I teach transgressors thy ways; and sinners shall be converted unto thee.

WLC 13 אַל־ תַּשְׁלִיכֵ֥נִי מִלְּפָנֶ֑יךָ וְר֥וּחַ קָ֝דְשְׁךָ֗ אַל־ תִּקַּ֥ח מִמֶּֽנִּי׃
