Ps 64 (Annotée Neuchâtel)

   ¹ Au maître chantre. Psaume de David.
   ² Ecoute, ô Dieu, ma voix, quand je gémis ;
Garantis ma vie contre l'ennemi qui m'épouvante !
   ³ Mets-moi à couvert contre les méchants qui complotent,
Contre la troupe bruyante des ouvriers d'iniquité.
   ⁴ Ils aiguisent comme une épée leurs langues,
Ils ajustent comme une flèche leur parole amère,
   ⁵ Pour tirer en cachette sur l'innocent.
Soudain ils tirent sur lui et n'ont point de crainte ;
   ⁶ Ils s'affermissent dans leur mauvais dessein,
Ils ne parlent que de cacher des pièges,
Ils disent : Qui le verra ?
   ⁷ Ils inventent de criminelles intrigues :
Ils achèvent leurs combinaisons secrètes.
La pensée intime, le coeur de l'homme est insondable.
   ⁸ Mais Dieu soudain les atteint de sa flèche ;
Les voilà frappés.
   ⁹ Ils bronchent : sur eux retombe la menace de leur langue ;
Tous ceux qui voient cela hochent la tête.
   ¹⁰ Les hommes sont tous saisis de crainte,
Ils publient l'oeuvre de Dieu
Et méditent sur ce qu'il a fait.
   ¹¹ Le juste se réjouit en l'Eternel et se retire vers lui,
Et tous ceux qui ont le coeur droit se glorifient.

   ¹ Hear my voice, O God, in my prayer: preserve my life from fear of the enemy. ² Hide me from the secret counsel of the wicked; from the insurrection of the workers of iniquity: ³ Who whet their tongue like a sword, and bend their bows to shoot their arrows, even bitter words: ⁴ That they may shoot in secret at the perfect: suddenly do they shoot at him, and fear not. ⁵ They encourage themselves in an evil matter: they commune of laying snares privily; they say, Who shall see them? ⁶ They search out iniquities; they accomplish a diligent search: both the inward thought of every one of them, and the heart, is deep.
   ⁷ But God shall shoot at them with an arrow; suddenly shall they be wounded. ⁸ So they shall make their own tongue to fall upon themselves: all that see them shall flee away. ⁹ And all men shall fear, and shall declare the work of God; for they shall wisely consider of his doing. ¹⁰ The righteous shall be glad in the LORD, and shall trust in him; and all the upright in heart shall glory.
