KJV 1 Give ear, O Shepherd of Israel, thou that leadest Joseph like a flock; thou that dwellest between the cherubims, shine forth.

KJV 2 Before Ephraim and Benjamin and Manasseh stir up thy strength, and come and save us.

VULC 2 [Exsultate Deo adjutori nostro ;
jubilate Deo Jacob.

KJV 3 Turn us again, O God, and cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved.

VULC 3 Sumite psalmum, et date tympanum ;
psalterium jucundum cum cithara.

KJV 4 O LORD God of hosts, how long wilt thou be angry against the prayer of thy people?

VULC 4 Buccinate in neomenia tuba,
in insigni die solemnitatis vestræ :

KJV 5 Thou feedest them with the bread of tears; and givest them tears to drink in great measure.

VULC 5 quia præceptum in Israël est,
et judicium Deo Jacob.

KJV 6 Thou makest us a strife unto our neighbours: and our enemies laugh among themselves.

VULC 6 Testimonium in Joseph posuit illud,
cum exiret de terra Ægypti ;
linguam quam non noverat, audivit.

KJV 7 Turn us again, O God of hosts, and cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved.

VULC 7 Divertit ab oneribus dorsum ejus ;
manus ejus in cophino servierunt.

KJV 8 Thou hast brought a vine out of Egypt: thou hast cast out the heathen, and planted it.

VULC 8 In tribulatione invocasti me, et liberavi te.
Exaudivi te in abscondito tempestatis ;
probavi te apud aquam contradictionis.

KJV 9 Thou preparedst room before it, and didst cause it to take deep root, and it filled the land.

VULC 9 Audi, populus meus, et contestabor te.

KJV 10 The hills were covered with the shadow of it, and the boughs thereof were like the goodly cedars.

VULC 10 non erit in te deus recens,
neque adorabis deum alienum.

KJV 11 She sent out her boughs unto the sea, and her branches unto the river.

VULC 11 Ego enim sum Dominus Deus tuus,
qui eduxi te de terra Ægypti.
Dilata os tuum, et implebo illud.

KJV 12 Why hast thou then broken down her hedges, so that all they which pass by the way do pluck her?

VULC 12 Et non audivit populus meus vocem meam,
et Israël non intendit mihi.

KJV 13 The boar out of the wood doth waste it, and the wild beast of the field doth devour it.

VULC 13 Et dimisi eos secundum desideria cordis eorum ;
ibunt in adinventionibus suis.

KJV 14 Return, we beseech thee, O God of hosts: look down from heaven, and behold, and visit this vine;

VULC 14 Si populus meus audisset me,
Israël si in viis meis ambulasset,

KJV 15 And the vineyard which thy right hand hath planted, and the branch that thou madest strong for thyself.

VULC 15 pro nihilo forsitan inimicos eorum humiliassem,
et super tribulantes eos misissem manum meam.

KJV 16 It is burned with fire, it is cut down: they perish at the rebuke of thy countenance.

VULC 16 Inimici Domini mentiti sunt ei,
et erit tempus eorum in sæcula.

KJV 17 Let thy hand be upon the man of thy right hand, upon the son of man whom thou madest strong for thyself.

VULC 17 Et cibavit eos ex adipe frumenti,
et de petra melle saturavit eos.]

KJV 18 So will not we go back from thee: quicken us, and we will call upon thy name.

KJV 19 Turn us again, O LORD God of hosts, cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved.
