KJV ² Take a psalm, and bring hither the timbrel, the pleasant harp with the psaltery.

LSG ² (81:3) Entonnez des cantiques, faites résonner le tambourin, La harpe mélodieuse et le luth !

WLC ² הַ֭רְנִינוּ לֵאלֹהִ֣ים עוּזֵּ֑נוּ הָ֝רִ֗יעוּ לֵאלֹהֵ֥י יַעֲקֹֽב׃

KJV ³ Blow up the trumpet in the new moon, in the time appointed, on our solemn feast day.

LSG ³ (81:4) Sonnez de la trompette à la nouvelle lune, A la pleine lune, au jour de notre fête !

WLC ³ שְֽׂאוּ־ זִ֭מְרָה וּתְנוּ־ תֹ֑ף כִּנּ֖וֹר נָעִ֣ים עִם־ נָֽבֶל׃

KJV ⁴ For this was a statute for Israel, and a law of the God of Jacob.

LSG ⁴ (81:5) Car c'est une loi pour Israël, Une ordonnance du Dieu de Jacob.

WLC ⁴ תִּקְע֣וּ בַחֹ֣דֶשׁ שׁוֹפָ֑ר בַּ֝כֵּ֗סֶה לְי֣וֹם חַגֵּֽנוּ׃

KJV ⁵ This he ordained in Joseph for a testimony, when he went out through the land of Egypt: where I heard a language that I understood not.

WLC ⁵ כִּ֤י חֹ֣ק לְיִשְׂרָאֵ֣ל ה֑וּא מִ֝שְׁפָּ֗ט לֵאלֹהֵ֥י יַעֲקֹֽב׃

KJV ⁶ I removed his shoulder from the burden: his hands were delivered from the pots.

LSG ⁶ (81:7) J'ai déchargé son épaule du fardeau, Et ses mains ont lâché la corbeille.

WLC ⁶ עֵ֤דוּת ׀ בִּֽיה֘וֹסֵ֤ף שָׂמ֗וֹ בְּ֭צֵאתוֹ עַל־ אֶ֣רֶץ מִצְרָ֑יִם שְׂפַ֖ת לֹא־ יָדַ֣עְתִּי אֶשְׁמָֽע׃

KJV ⁷ Thou calledst in trouble, and I delivered thee; I answered thee in the secret place of thunder: I proved thee at the waters of Meribah. Selah.

LSG ⁷ (81:8) Tu as crié dans la détresse, et je t'ai délivré ; Je t'ai répondu dans la retraite du tonnerre ; Je t'ai éprouvé près des eaux de Meriba. Pause.

WLC ⁷ הֲסִיר֣וֹתִי מִסֵּ֣בֶל שִׁכְמ֑וֹ כַּ֝פָּ֗יו מִדּ֥וּד תַּעֲבֹֽרְנָה׃

KJV ⁸ Hear, O my people, and I will testify unto thee: O Israel, if thou wilt hearken unto me;

LSG ⁸ (81:9) Écoute, mon peuple ! et je t'avertirai ; Israël, puisses-tu m'écouter !

WLC ⁸ בַּצָּרָ֥ה קָרָ֗אתָ וָאֲחַ֫לְּצֶ֥ךָּ אֶ֭עֶנְךָ בְּסֵ֣תֶר רַ֑עַם אֶבְחָֽנְךָ֨ עַל־ מֵ֖י מְרִיבָ֣ה סֶֽלָה׃

KJV ⁹ There shall no strange god be in thee; neither shalt thou worship any strange god.

LSG ⁹ (81:10) Qu'il n'y ait au milieu de toi point de dieu étranger ! Ne te prosterne pas devant des dieux étrangers !

WLC ⁹ שְׁמַ֣ע עַ֭מִּי וְאָעִ֣ידָה בָּ֑ךְ יִ֝שְׂרָאֵ֗ל אִם־ תִּֽשְׁמַֽע־ לִֽי׃

KJV ¹⁰ I am the LORD thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt: open thy mouth wide, and I will fill it.

LSG ¹⁰ (81:11) Je suis l'Éternel, ton Dieu, qui t'ai fait monter du pays d'Égypte ; Ouvre ta bouche, et je la remplirai.

WLC ¹⁰ לֹֽא־ יִהְיֶ֣ה בְ֭ךָ אֵ֣ל זָ֑ר וְלֹ֥א תִ֝שְׁתַּחֲוֶ֗ה לְאֵ֣ל נֵכָֽר׃

KJV ¹¹ But my people would not hearken to my voice; and Israel would none of me.

LSG ¹¹ (81:12) Mais mon peuple n'a point écouté ma voix, Israël ne m'a point obéi.

KJV ¹² So I gave them up unto their own hearts' lust: and they walked in their own counsels.

LSG ¹² (81:13) Alors je les ai livrés aux penchants de leur coeur, Et ils ont suivi leurs propres conseils.

WLC ¹² וְלֹא־ שָׁמַ֣ע עַמִּ֣י לְקוֹלִ֑י וְ֝יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל לֹא־ אָ֥בָה לִֽי׃

KJV ¹³ Oh that my people had hearkened unto me, and Israel had walked in my ways!

LSG ¹³ (81:14) Oh ! si mon peuple m'écoutait, Si Israël marchait dans mes voies !

WLC ¹³ וָֽ֭אֲשַׁלְּחֵהוּ בִּשְׁרִיר֣וּת לִבָּ֑ם יֵ֝לְכ֗וּ בְּֽמוֹעֲצוֹתֵיהֶֽם׃

KJV ¹⁴ I should soon have subdued their enemies, and turned my hand against their adversaries.

LSG ¹⁴ (81:15) En un instant je confondrais leurs ennemis, Je tournerais ma main contre leurs adversaires ;

WLC ¹⁴ ל֗וּ עַ֭מִּי שֹׁמֵ֣עַֽ לִ֑י יִ֝שְׂרָאֵ֗ל בִּדְרָכַ֥י יְהַלֵּֽכוּ׃

KJV ¹⁵ The haters of the LORD should have submitted themselves unto him: but their time should have endured for ever.

LSG ¹⁵ (81:16) Ceux qui haïssent l'Éternel le flatteraient, Et le bonheur d'Israël durerait toujours ;

WLC ¹⁵ כִּ֭מְעַט אוֹיְבֵיהֶ֣ם אַכְנִ֑יעַ וְעַ֥ל צָ֝רֵיהֶ֗ם אָשִׁ֥יב יָדִֽי׃

KJV ¹⁶ He should have fed them also with the finest of the wheat: and with honey out of the rock should I have satisfied thee.

LSG ¹⁶ (81:17) Je le nourrirais du meilleur froment, Et je le rassasierais du miel du rocher.

WLC ¹⁶ מְשַׂנְאֵ֣י יְ֭הוָה יְכַֽחֲשׁוּ־ ל֑וֹ וִיהִ֖י עִתָּ֣ם לְעוֹלָֽם׃
