KJV ¹⁴ How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?

MAR ¹⁴ Mais comment invoqueront-ils celui en qui ils n'ont point cru ? et comment croiront-ils en celui dont ils n'ont point entendu [parler] ? et comment en entendront-ils parler s'il n'y a quelqu'un qui leur prêche ?

KJV ¹⁵ And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!

MAR ¹⁵ Et comment prêchera-t-on sinon qu'il y en ait qui soient envoyés ? ainsi qu'il est écrit : ô que les pieds de ceux qui annoncent la paix sont beaux, [les pieds, dis-je], de ceux qui annoncent de bonnes choses !

KJV ¹⁶ But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report?

MAR ¹⁶ Mais tous n'ont pas obéi à l'Evangile ; car Esaïe dit : Seigneur, qui est-ce qui a cru à notre prédication.

KJV ¹⁷ So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

MAR ¹⁷ La foi donc est de l'ouïe ; et l'ouïe par la parole de Dieu.

KJV ¹⁸ But I say, Have they not heard? Yes verily, their sound went into all the earth, and their words unto the ends of the world.

MAR ¹⁸ Mais je demande : ne l'ont-ils point ouï ? au contraire, leur voix est allée par toute la terre, et leur parole jusques aux bouts du monde.

KJV ¹⁹ But I say, Did not Israel know? First Moses saith, I will provoke you to jealousy by them that are no people, and by a foolish nation I will anger you.

MAR ¹⁹ Mais je demande : Israël ne l'a-t-il point connu ? Moïse le premier dit : je vous exciterai à la jalousie par celui qui n'est point peuple ; je vous exciterai à la colère par une nation destituée d'intelligence.

KJV ²⁰ But Esaias is very bold, and saith, I was found of them that sought me not; I was made manifest unto them that asked not after me.

MAR ²⁰ Et Esaïe s'enhardit tout à fait, et dit : j'ai été trouvé de ceux qui ne me cherchaient point, et je me suis clairement manifesté à ceux qui ne s'enquéraient point de moi.

KJV ²¹ But to Israel he saith, All day long I have stretched forth my hands unto a disobedient and gainsaying people.

MAR ²¹ Mais quant à Israël, il dit : j'ai tout le jour étendu mes mains vers un peuple rebelle et contredisant.

KJV ¹ I say then, Hath God cast away his people? God forbid. For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin.

MAR ¹ Je demande donc : Dieu a-t-il rejeté son peuple ? à Dieu ne plaise ! Car je suis aussi Israëlite, de la postérité d'Abraham, de la Tribu de Benjamin.

KJV ² God hath not cast away his people which he foreknew. Wot ye not what the scripture saith of Elias? how he maketh intercession to God against Israel saying,

MAR ² Dieu n'a point rejeté son peuple, lequel il a auparavant connu. Et ne savez-vous pas ce que l'Ecriture dit d'Elie, comment il a fait requête à Dieu contre Israël, disant :

KJV ³ Lord, they have killed thy prophets, and digged down thine altars; and I am left alone, and they seek my life.

MAR ³ Seigneur, ils ont tué tes Prophètes, et ils ont démoli tes autels, et je suis demeuré moi seul ; et ils tâchent à m'ôter la vie.

KJV ⁴ But what saith the answer of God unto him? I have reserved to myself seven thousand men, who have not bowed the knee to the image of Baal.

MAR ⁴ Mais que lui fut-il répondu de Dieu ? je me suis réservé sept mille hommes, qui n'ont point fléchi le genou devant Bahal.

KJV ⁵ Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace.

MAR ⁵ Ainsi donc il y a aussi à présent un résidu selon l'élection de la grâce.

KJV ⁶ And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then it is no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.

MAR ⁶ Or si c'est par la grâce, ce n'est plus par les oeuvres ; autrement la grâce n'est plus la grâce. Mais si c'est par les oeuvres, ce n'est plus par la grâce ; autrement l'oeuvre n'est plus une oeuvre.

KJV ⁷ What then? Israel hath not obtained that which he seeketh for; but the election hath obtained it, and the rest were blinded.

MAR ⁷ Quoi donc ? c'est que ce qu'Israël cherchait, il ne l'a point obtenu ; mais l'élection l'a obtenu, et les autres ont été endurcis ;

KJV ⁸ (According as it is written, God hath given them the spirit of slumber, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear;) unto this day.

MAR ⁸ Ainsi qu'il est écrit : Dieu leur a donné un esprit assoupi, [et] des yeux pour ne point voir, et des oreilles pour ne point ouïr, jusqu'au jour présent.

KJV ⁹ And David saith, Let their table be made a snare, and a trap, and a stumblingblock, and a recompence unto them:

MAR ⁹ Et David dit : que leur table leur soit un filet, un piège, une occasion de chute, et cela pour leur récompense.

KJV ¹⁰ Let their eyes be darkened, that they may not see, and bow down their back alway.

MAR ¹⁰ Que leurs yeux soient obscurcis pour ne point voir ; et courbe continuellement leur dos.
