WLC ¹ בַּחֹ֙דֶשׁ֙ הַשְּׁמִינִ֔י בִּשְׁנַ֥ת שְׁתַּ֖יִם לְדָרְיָ֑וֶשׁ הָיָ֣ה דְבַר־ יְהוָ֗ה אֶל־ זְכַרְיָה֙ בֶּן־ בֶּ֣רֶכְיָ֔ה בֶּן־ עִדּ֥וֹ הַנָּבִ֖יא לֵאמֹֽר׃

BCC ² Yahweh a été dans un grand courroux contre vos pères.

KJV ² The LORD hath been sore displeased with your fathers.

WLC ² קָצַ֧ף יְהוָ֛ה עַל־ אֲבֽוֹתֵיכֶ֖ם קָֽצֶף׃

BCC ³ Et tu leur diras : ainsi parle Yahweh des armées : Revenez à moi, ‒ oracle de Yahweh des armées, et je reviendrai à vous, ‒ dit Yahweh des armées.

KJV ³ Therefore say thou unto them, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Turn ye unto me, saith the LORD of hosts, and I will turn unto you, saith the LORD of hosts.

WLC ³ וְאָמַרְתָּ֣ אֲלֵהֶ֗ם כֹּ֤ה אָמַר֙ יְהוָ֣ה צְבָא֔וֹת שׁ֣וּבוּ אֵלַ֔י נְאֻ֖ם יְהוָ֣ה צְבָא֑וֹת וְאָשׁ֣וּב אֲלֵיכֶ֔ם אָמַ֖ר יְהוָ֥ה צְבָאֽוֹת׃

BCC ⁴ Ne soyez pas comme vos pères, auxquels ont prêché les premiers prophètes en disant : "ainsi parle Yahweh des armées : revenez donc de vos mauvaises voies, et de vos mauvaises actions !" Et qui n'ont pas écouté et ne m'ont pas prêté attention, ‒ oracle de Yahweh.

KJV ⁴ Be ye not as your fathers, unto whom the former prophets have cried, saying, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Turn ye now from your evil ways, and from your evil doings: but they did not hear, nor hearken unto me, saith the LORD.

WLC ⁴ אַל־ תִּהְי֣וּ כַאֲבֹֽתֵיכֶ֡ם אֲשֶׁ֣ר קָרְאֽוּ־ אֲלֵיהֶם֩ הַנְּבִיאִ֨ים הָרִֽאשֹׁנִ֜ים לֵאמֹ֗ר כֹּ֤ה אָמַר֙ יְהוָ֣ה צְבָא֔וֹת שׁ֤וּבוּ נָא֙ מִדַּרְכֵיכֶ֣ם הָרָעִ֔ים הָֽרָעִ֑ים וְלֹ֥א שָׁמְע֛וּ וְלֹֽא־ הִקְשִׁ֥יבוּ אֵלַ֖י נְאֻם־ יְהוָֽה׃

BCC ⁵ Vos pères, où sont-ils ? Et les prophètes, pouvaient-ils vivre éternellement ?

KJV ⁵ Your fathers, where are they? and the prophets, do they live for ever?

WLC ⁵ אֲבֽוֹתֵיכֶ֖ם אַיֵּה־ הֵ֑ם וְהַ֨נְּבִאִ֔ים הַלְעוֹלָ֖ם יִֽחְיֽוּ׃

BCC ⁶ Mais mes paroles et mes décrets, dont j'avais chargé mes serviteurs les prophètes, n'ont-ils pas atteint vos pères, si bien qu'ils se sont convertis et ont dit : " Comme Yahweh des armées avait résolu d'agir à notre égard, selon nos voies et selon nos actions, ainsi il a agi envers nous. "

KJV ⁶ But my words and my statutes, which I commanded my servants the prophets, did they not take hold of your fathers? and they returned and said, Like as the LORD of hosts thought to do unto us, according to our ways, and according to our doings, so hath he dealt with us.

WLC ⁶ אַ֣ךְ ׀ דְּבָרַ֣י וְחֻקַּ֗י אֲשֶׁ֤ר צִוִּ֙יתִי֙ אֶת־ עֲבָדַ֣י הַנְּבִיאִ֔ים הֲל֥וֹא הִשִּׂ֖יגוּ אֲבֹתֵיכֶ֑ם וַיָּשׁ֣וּבוּ וַיֹּאמְר֗וּ כַּאֲשֶׁ֨ר זָמַ֜ם יְהוָ֤ה צְבָאוֹת֙ לַעֲשׂ֣וֹת לָ֔נוּ כִּדְרָכֵ֙ינוּ֙ וּכְמַ֣עֲלָלֵ֔ינוּ כֵּ֖ן עָשָׂ֥ה אִתָּֽנוּ׃

WLC ⁷ בְּיוֹם֩ עֶשְׂרִ֨ים וְאַרְבָּעָ֜ה לְעַשְׁתֵּֽי־ עָשָׂ֥ר חֹ֙דֶשׁ֙ הוּא־ חֹ֣דֶשׁ שְׁבָ֔ט בִּשְׁנַ֥ת שְׁתַּ֖יִם לְדָרְיָ֑וֶשׁ הָיָ֣ה דְבַר־ יְהוָ֗ה אֶל־ זְכַרְיָה֙ בֶּן־ בֶּ֣רֶכְיָ֔הוּ בֶּן־ עִדּ֥וֹא הַנָּבִ֖יא לֵאמֹֽר׃

BCC ⁸ J'ai eu une vision pendant la nuit : voici qu'un homme était monté sur un cheval roux, et il se tenait entre des myrtes dans un lieu ombragé, et il y avait derrière lui des chevaux roux, alezans et blancs.

KJV ⁸ I saw by night, and behold a man riding upon a red horse, and he stood among the myrtle trees that were in the bottom; and behind him were there red horses, speckled, and white.

WLC ⁸ רָאִ֣יתִי ׀ הַלַּ֗יְלָה וְהִנֵּה־ אִישׁ֙ רֹכֵב֙ עַל־ ס֣וּס אָדֹ֔ם וְה֣וּא עֹמֵ֔ד בֵּ֥ין הַהֲדַסִּ֖ים אֲשֶׁ֣ר בַּמְּצֻלָ֑ה וְאַחֲרָיו֙ סוּסִ֣ים אֲדֻמִּ֔ים שְׂרֻקִּ֖ים וּלְבָנִֽים׃

BCC ⁹ Je dis : "que sont ceux-ci, mon seigneur ?" Et l'ange qui parlait avec moi me dit : " Je te ferai voir ce que sont ceux-ci."

KJV ⁹ Then said I, O my lord, what are these? And the angel that talked with me said unto me, I will shew thee what these be.

WLC ⁹ וָאֹמַ֖ר מָה־ אֵ֣לֶּה אֲדֹנִ֑י וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֵלַ֗י הַמַּלְאָךְ֙ הַדֹּבֵ֣ר בִּ֔י אֲנִ֥י אַרְאֶ֖ךָּ מָה־ הֵ֥מָּה אֵֽלֶּה׃

BCC ¹⁰ Et l'homme qui se tenait entre les myrtes prit la parole et dit : "ce sont ceux que Yahweh a envoyés pour parcourir la terre."

KJV ¹⁰ And the man that stood among the myrtle trees answered and said, These are they whom the LORD hath sent to walk to and fro through the earth.

WLC ¹⁰ וַיַּ֗עַן הָאִ֛ישׁ הָעֹמֵ֥ד בֵּין־ הַהַדַסִּ֖ים וַיֹּאמַ֑ר אֵ֚לֶּה אֲשֶׁ֣ר שָׁלַ֣ח יְהוָ֔ה לְהִתְהַלֵּ֖ךְ בָּאָֽרֶץ׃

BCC ¹¹ Et ils répondirent à l'ange de Yahweh qui se tenait entre les myrtes, et ils dirent : "nous avons parcouru la terre, et voici que toute la terre est habitée et tranquille."

KJV ¹¹ And they answered the angel of the LORD that stood among the myrtle trees, and said, We have walked to and fro through the earth, and, behold, all the earth sitteth still, and is at rest.

WLC ¹¹ וַֽיַּעֲנ֞וּ אֶת־ מַלְאַ֣ךְ יְהוָ֗ה הָֽעֹמֵד֙ בֵּ֣ין הַהֲדַסִּ֔ים וַיֹּאמְר֖וּ הִתְהַלַּ֣כְנוּ בָאָ֑רֶץ וְהִנֵּ֥ה כָל־ הָאָ֖רֶץ יֹשֶׁ֥בֶת וְשֹׁקָֽטֶת׃

BCC ¹² L'ange de Yahweh prit la parole et dit : "Yahweh des armées, jusques à quand n'auras-tu pas pitié de Jérusalem et des villes de Juda contre lesquelles tu es irrité voilà soixante-dix ans ?"

KJV ¹² Then the angel of the LORD answered and said, O LORD of hosts, how long wilt thou not have mercy on Jerusalem and on the cities of Judah, against which thou hast had indignation these threescore and ten years?

WLC ¹² וַיַּ֣עַן מַלְאַךְ־ יְהוָה֮ וַיֹּאמַר֒ יְהוָ֣ה צְבָא֔וֹת עַד־ מָתַ֗י אַתָּה֙ לֹֽא־ תְרַחֵ֣ם אֶת־ יְרוּשָׁלִַ֔ם וְאֵ֖ת עָרֵ֣י יְהוּדָ֑ה אֲשֶׁ֣ר זָעַ֔מְתָּה זֶ֖ה שִׁבְעִ֥ים שָׁנָֽה׃

BCC ¹³ Et Yahweh adressa à l'ange qui parlait avec moi de bonnes paroles, des paroles de consolation.

KJV ¹³ And the LORD answered the angel that talked with me with good words and comfortable words.

WLC ¹³ וַיַּ֣עַן יְהוָ֗ה אֶת־ הַמַּלְאָ֛ךְ הַדֹּבֵ֥ר בִּ֖י דְּבָרִ֣ים טוֹבִ֑ים דְּבָרִ֖ים נִחֻמִֽים׃

BCC ¹⁴ Et l'ange qui parlait avec moi me dit : "proclame ceci : Ainsi parle Yahweh des armées : J'ai été animé d'une grande jalousie pour Jérusalem et pour Sion ;

KJV ¹⁴ So the angel that communed with me said unto me, Cry thou, saying, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; I am jealous for Jerusalem and for Zion with a great jealousy.

WLC ¹⁴ וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֵלַ֗י הַמַּלְאָךְ֙ הַדֹּבֵ֣ר בִּ֔י קְרָ֣א לֵאמֹ֔ר כֹּ֥ה אָמַ֖ר יְהוָ֣ה צְבָא֑וֹת קִנֵּ֧אתִי לִירוּשָׁלִַ֛ם וּלְצִיּ֖וֹן קִנְאָ֥ה גְדוֹלָֽה׃

BCC ¹⁵ et je suis animé d'un grand courroux contre les nations qui vivent dans l'opulence ! Car moi, j'étais un peu irrité ; et elles ont, elles, travaillé à la ruine.

KJV ¹⁵ And I am very sore displeased with the heathen that are at ease: for I was but a little displeased, and they helped forward the affliction.

WLC ¹⁵ וְקֶ֤צֶף גָּדוֹל֙ אֲנִ֣י קֹצֵ֔ף עַל־ הַגּוֹיִ֖ם הַשַּֽׁאֲנַנִּ֑ים אֲשֶׁ֤ר אֲנִי֙ קָצַ֣פְתִּי מְּעָ֔ט וְהֵ֖מָּה עָזְר֥וּ לְרָעָֽה׃

BCC ¹⁶ C'est pourquoi ainsi parle Yahweh : Je reviens à Jérusalem avec compassion ; ma maison y sera rebâtie, ‒ oracle de Yahweh des armées, et le cordeau sera étendu sur Jérusalem.

KJV ¹⁶ Therefore thus saith the LORD; I am returned to Jerusalem with mercies: my house shall be built in it, saith the LORD of hosts, and a line shall be stretched forth upon Jerusalem.

WLC ¹⁶ לָכֵ֞ן כֹּֽה־ אָמַ֣ר יְהוָ֗ה שַׁ֤בְתִּי לִירוּשָׁלִַ֙ם֙ בְּֽרַחֲמִ֔ים בֵּיתִי֙ יִבָּ֣נֶה בָּ֔הּ נְאֻ֖ם יְהוָ֣ה צְבָא֑וֹת יִנָּטֶ֖ה עַל־ יְרוּשָׁלִָֽם׃

BCC ¹⁷ Proclame encore ceci : ainsi parle Yahweh des armées : Mes villes regorgeront encore de biens, et Yahweh consolera encore Sion, et choisira encore Jérusalem."

KJV ¹⁷ Cry yet, saying, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; My cities through prosperity shall yet be spread abroad; and the LORD shall yet comfort Zion, and shall yet choose Jerusalem.

WLC ¹⁷ ע֣וֹד ׀ קְרָ֣א לֵאמֹ֗ר כֹּ֤ה אָמַר֙ יְהוָ֣ה צְבָא֔וֹת ע֛וֹד תְּפוּצֶ֥ינָה עָרַ֖י מִטּ֑וֹב וְנִחַ֨ם יְהוָ֥ה עוֹד֙ אֶת־ צִיּ֔וֹן וּבָחַ֥ר ע֖וֹד בִּירוּשָׁלִָֽם׃

KJV ¹⁸ Then lifted I up mine eyes, and saw, and behold four horns.

KJV ¹⁹ And I said unto the angel that talked with me, What be these? And he answered me, These are the horns which have scattered Judah, Israel, and Jerusalem.

KJV ²⁰ And the LORD shewed me four carpenters.

KJV ²¹ Then said I, What come these to do? And he spake, saying, These are the horns which have scattered Judah, so that no man did lift up his head: but these are come to fray them, to cast out the horns of the Gentiles, which lifted up their horn over the land of Judah to scatter it.
