   ¹ And I turned, and lifted up mine eyes, and looked, and, behold, there came four chariots out from between two mountains; and the mountains were mountains of brass. ² In the first chariot were red horses; and in the second chariot black horses; ³ And in the third chariot white horses; and in the fourth chariot grisled and bay horses. ⁴ Then I answered and said unto the angel that talked with me, What are these, my lord? ⁵ And the angel answered and said unto me, These are the four spirits of the heavens, which go forth from standing before the LORD of all the earth. ⁶ The black horses which are therein go forth into the north country; and the white go forth after them; and the grisled go forth toward the south country. ⁷ And the bay went forth, and sought to go that they might walk to and fro through the earth: and he said, Get you hence, walk to and fro through the earth. So they walked to and fro through the earth. ⁸ Then cried he upon me, and spake unto me, saying, Behold, these that go toward the north country have quieted my spirit in the north country.
   ⁹ And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, ¹⁰ Take of them of the captivity, even of Heldai, of Tobijah, and of Jedaiah, which are come from Babylon, and come thou the same day, and go into the house of Josiah the son of Zephaniah; ¹¹ Then take silver and gold, and make crowns, and set them upon the head of Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest; ¹² And speak unto him, saying, Thus speaketh the LORD of hosts, saying, Behold the man whose name is The BRANCH; and he shall grow up out of his place, and he shall build the temple of the LORD: ¹³ Even he shall build the temple of the LORD; and he shall bear the glory, and shall sit and rule upon his throne; and he shall be a priest upon his throne: and the counsel of peace shall be between them both. ¹⁴ And the crowns shall be to Helem, and to Tobijah, and to Jedaiah, and to Hen the son of Zephaniah, for a memorial in the temple of the LORD. ¹⁵ And they that are far off shall come and build in the temple of the LORD, and ye shall know that the LORD of hosts hath sent me unto you. And this shall come to pass, if ye will diligently obey the voice of the LORD your God.

Vision de quatre chars

¹ J'ai de nouveau levé les yeux et j'ai vu quatre chars sortir d'entre deux montagnes. Les montagnes étaient en bronze. ² Au premier char étaient attelés des chevaux roux, au deuxième des chevaux noirs, ³ au troisième des chevaux blancs, et au quatrième des chevaux bruns tachetés. ⁴ J'ai pris la parole et dit à l'ange qui me parlait: «Qu'est-ce que c'est, mon seigneur?» ⁵ L'ange m'a répondu: «Ce sont les quatre vents du ciel; ils sortent de l'endroit où ils se tenaient devant le Seigneur de toute la terre.» ⁶ Le char auquel étaient attelés les chevaux noirs s'est dirigé vers le pays du nord, et les blancs l'ont suivi; les tachetés se sont dirigés vers le pays du sud. ⁷ Les bruns sont sortis et ont demandé à aller parcourir la terre. L'ange leur a dit: «Allez parcourir la terre.» Et ils ont parcouru la terre. ⁸ L'ange m'a appelé et m'a dit: «Regarde! Ceux qui se dirigent vers le pays du nord font reposer mon Esprit sur le pays du nord.»
⁹ La parole de l'Eternel m'a été adressée: ¹⁰ «Tu recevras les dons des exilés, de Heldaï, de Tobija et de Jedaeja, et tu iras toi-même aujourd'hui, tu iras dans la maison de Josias, fils de Sophonie, où ils se sont rendus en arrivant de Babylone. ¹¹ Tu prendras l'argent et l'or, et tu en feras des couronnes que tu mettras sur la tête du grand-prêtre Josué, fils de Jotsadak. ¹² Tu lui annonceras: ‘Voici ce que dit l'Eternel, le maître de l'univers:
Voici un homme dont le nom est Germe;
il germera à sa place
et construira le temple de l'Eternel.
¹³ C'est lui qui construira le temple de l'Eternel.
Il portera les insignes de la majesté,
il siégera sur son trône pour dominer
et sera prêtre sur son trône,
et une parfaite union régnera entre les deux fonctions.'
¹⁴ Les couronnes seront un souvenir pour Hélem, Tobija et Jedaeja, et pour Hen, le fils de Sophonie, dans le temple de l'Eternel. ¹⁵ Ceux qui sont éloignés viendront construire le temple de l'Eternel; alors vous saurez que l'Eternel, le maître de l'univers, m'a envoyé vers vous. Cela arrivera si vous écoutez la voix de l'Eternel, votre Dieu.»

   ⁴ Et respondi, et dixi ad angelum qui loquebatur in me : Quid sunt hæc, domine mi ?
   ⁵ Et respondit angelus, et ait ad me : Isti sunt quatuor venti cæli, qui egrediuntur ut stent coram Dominatore omnis terræ.
   ⁶ In qua erant equi nigri, egrediebantur in terram aquilonis : et albi egressi sunt post eos, et varii egressi sunt ad terram austri.
   ⁷ Qui autem erant robustissimi, exierunt, et quærebant ire et discurrere per omnem terram. Et dixit : Ite, perambulate terram : et perambulaverunt terram.
   ⁸ Et vocavit me, et locutus est ad me, dicens : Ecce qui egrediuntur in terram aquilonis, requiescere fecerunt spiritum meum in terra aquilonis.

   ¹⁰ Sume a transmigratione, ab Holdai, et a Tobia, et ab Idaia : et venies tu in die illa, et intrabis domum Josiæ filii Sophoniæ, qui venerunt de Babylone.
   ¹¹ Et sumes aurum et argentum, et facies coronas, et pones in capite Jesu filii Josedec, sacerdotis magni :
   ¹² et loqueris ad eum, dicens : Hæc ait Dominus exercituum, dicens : Ecce vir, Oriens nomen ejus, et subter eum orietur, et ædificabit templum Domino.
   ¹³ Et ipse exstruet templum Domino : et ipse portabit gloriam, et sedebit, et dominabitur super solio suo : et erit sacerdos super solio suo, et consilium pacis erit inter illos duos.
   ¹⁴ Et coronæ erunt Helem, et Tobiæ, et Idaiæ, et Hem filio Sophoniæ, memoriale in templo Domini.
   ¹⁵ Et qui procul sunt, venient, et ædificabunt in templo Domini : et scietis quia Dominus exercituum misit me ad vos. Erit autem hoc, si auditu audieritis vocem Domini Dei vestri.
