VULC ¹ Et factum est in anno quarto Darii regis, factum est verbum Domini ad Zachariam, in quarta mensis noni, qui est Casleu.

WLC ¹ וַֽיְהִי֙ בִּשְׁנַ֣ת אַרְבַּ֔ע לְדָרְיָ֖וֶשׁ הַמֶּ֑לֶךְ הָיָ֨ה דְבַר־ יְהוָ֜ה אֶל־ זְכַרְיָ֗ה בְּאַרְבָּעָ֛ה לַחֹ֥דֶשׁ הַתְּשִׁעִ֖י בְּכִסְלֵֽו׃

KJV ² When they had sent unto the house of God Sherezer and Regemmelech, and their men, to pray before the LORD,

LSG ² On avait envoyé de Béthel Scharetser et Réguem Mélec avec ses gens pour implorer l'Éternel,

MAR ² lorsqu'on eut envoyé Saretser, et Réguem-mélec et ses gens, à la maison du [Dieu] Fort, pour supplier l'Eternel.

VULC ² Et miserunt ad domum Dei Sarasar et Rogommelech, et viri qui erant cum eo, ad deprecandam faciem Domini :

WLC ² וַיִּשְׁלַח֙ בֵּֽית־ אֵ֔ל שַׂר־ אֶ֕צֶר וְרֶ֥גֶם מֶ֖לֶךְ וַֽאֲנָשָׁ֑יו לְחַלּ֖וֹת אֶת־ פְּנֵ֥י יְהוָֽה׃

KJV ³ And to speak unto the priests which were in the house of the LORD of hosts, and to the prophets, saying, Should I weep in the fifth month, separating myself, as I have done these so many years?

LSG ³ et pour dire aux sacrificateurs de la maison de l'Éternel des armées et aux prophètes: Faut-il que je pleure au cinquième mois et que je fasse abstinence, comme je l'ai fait tant d'années ?

MAR ³ Et pour parler aux Sacrificateurs de la maison de l'Eternel des armées, et aux Prophètes, en disant : Pleurerai-je au cinquième mois, me tenant séparé, comme j'ai déjà fait pendant plusieurs années ?

VULC ³ ut dicerent sacerdotibus domus Domini exercituum, et prophetis, loquentes : Numquid flendum est mihi in quinto mense, vel sanctificare me debeo, sicut jam feci multis annis ?

WLC ³ לֵאמֹ֗ר אֶל־ הַכֹּֽהֲנִים֙ אֲשֶׁר֙ לְבֵית־ יְהוָ֣ה צְבָא֔וֹת וְאֶל־ הַנְּבִיאִ֖ים לֵאמֹ֑ר הַֽאֶבְכֶּה֙ בַּחֹ֣דֶשׁ הַחֲמִשִׁ֔י הִנָּזֵ֕ר כַּאֲשֶׁ֣ר עָשִׂ֔יתִי זֶ֖ה כַּמֶּ֥ה שָׁנִֽים׃

KJV ⁴ Then came the word of the LORD of hosts unto me, saying,

LSG ⁴ La parole de l'Éternel des armées me fut adressée, en ces mots:

MAR ⁴ Et la parole de l'Eternel me fut [adressée], en disant :

VULC ⁴ Et factum est verbum Domini exercituum ad me, dicens :

WLC ⁴ וַיְהִ֛י דְּבַר־ יְהוָ֥ה צְבָא֖וֹת אֵלַ֥י לֵאמֹֽר׃

KJV ⁵ Speak unto all the people of the land, and to the priests, saying, When ye fasted and mourned in the fifth and seventh month, even those seventy years, did ye at all fast unto me, even to me?

LSG ⁵ Dis à tout le peuple du pays et aux sacrificateurs: Quand vous avez jeûné et pleuré au cinquième et au septième mois, et cela depuis soixante-dix ans, est-ce pour moi que vous avez jeûné ?

MAR ⁵ Parle à tout le peuple du pays, et aux Sacrificateurs, et [leur] dis : Quand vous avez jeûné, et pleuré au cinquième [mois], et au septième, il y a déjà soixante et dix ans, avez-vous célébré ce jeûne pour l’amour de moi ?

VULC ⁵ Loquere ad omnem populum terræ, et ad sacerdotes, dicens : Cum jejunaretis, et plangeretis in quinto et septimo per hos septuaginta annos, numquid jejunium jejunastis mihi ?

WLC ⁵ אֱמֹר֙ אֶל־ כָּל־ עַ֣ם הָאָ֔רֶץ וְאֶל־ הַכֹּהֲנִ֖ים לֵאמֹ֑ר כִּֽי־ צַמְתֶּ֨ם וְסָפ֜וֹד בַּחֲמִישִׁ֣י וּבַשְּׁבִיעִ֗י וְזֶה֙ שִׁבְעִ֣ים שָׁנָ֔ה הֲצ֥וֹם צַמְתֻּ֖נִי אָֽנִי׃

KJV ⁶ And when ye did eat, and when ye did drink, did not ye eat for yourselves, and drink for yourselves?

LSG ⁶ Et quand vous mangez et buvez, n'est-ce pas vous qui mangez et vous qui buvez ?

MAR ⁶ Et quand vous buvez et mangez, n'est-ce pas vous qui mangez, et vous qui buvez ?

VULC ⁶ et cum comedistis et bibistis, numquid non vobis comedistis et vobismetipsis bibistis ?

WLC ⁶ וְכִ֥י תֹאכְל֖וּ וְכִ֣י תִשְׁתּ֑וּ הֲל֤וֹא אַתֶּם֙ הָאֹ֣כְלִ֔ים וְאַתֶּ֖ם הַשֹּׁתִֽים׃

KJV ⁷ Should ye not hear the words which the LORD hath cried by the former prophets, when Jerusalem was inhabited and in prosperity, and the cities thereof round about her, when men inhabited the south and the plain?

LSG ⁷ Ne connaissez-vous pas les paroles qu'a proclamées l'Éternel par les premiers prophètes, lorsque Jérusalem était habitée et tranquille avec ses villes à l'entour, et que le midi et la plaine étaient habités ?

MAR ⁷ Ne sont-ce pas les paroles que l'Eternel a fait entendre par le moyen des Prophètes qui ont été ci-devant, lorsque Jérusalem était habitée et paisible, elle et ses villes qui sont autour d'elle, et lors qu'on habitait vers le midi, et dans la plaine ?8 Puis la parole de l'Eternel fut [adressée] à Zacharie, en disant :

VULC ⁷ numquid non sunt verba quæ locutus est Dominus in manu prophetarum priorum, cum adhuc Jerusalem habitaretur ut esset opulenta, ipsa et urbes in circuitu ejus, et ad austrum, et in campestribus habitaretur ?

WLC ⁷ הֲל֣וֹא אֶת־ הַדְּבָרִ֗ים אֲשֶׁ֨ר קָרָ֤א יְהוָה֙ בְּיַד֙ הַנְּבִיאִ֣ים הָרִֽאשֹׁנִ֔ים בִּהְי֤וֹת יְרוּשָׁלִַ֙ם֙ יֹשֶׁ֣בֶת וּשְׁלֵוָ֔ה וְעָרֶ֖יהָ סְבִיבֹתֶ֑יהָ וְהַנֶּ֥גֶב וְהַשְּׁפֵלָ֖ה יֹשֵֽׁב׃

KJV ⁸ And the word of the LORD came unto Zechariah, saying,

KJV ⁹ Thus speaketh the LORD of hosts, saying, Execute true judgment, and shew mercy and compassions every man to his brother:

LSG ⁹ Ainsi parlait l'Éternel des armées: Rendez véritablement la justice, Et ayez l'un pour l'autre de la bonté et de la miséricorde.

MAR ⁹ Ainsi avait parlé l'Eternel des armées, en disant : Faites ce qui est vraiment juste, et exercez la miséricorde et la compassion chacun envers son frère.

VULC ⁹ Hæc ait Dominus exercituum, dicens : Judicium verum judicate, et misericordiam et miserationes facite, unusquisque cum fratre suo.

WLC ⁹ כֹּ֥ה אָמַ֛ר יְהוָ֥ה צְבָא֖וֹת לֵאמֹ֑ר מִשְׁפַּ֤ט אֱמֶת֙ שְׁפֹ֔טוּ וְחֶ֣סֶד וְרַֽחֲמִ֔ים עֲשׂ֖וּ אִ֥ישׁ אֶת־ אָחִֽיו׃

KJV ¹⁰ And oppress not the widow, nor the fatherless, the stranger, nor the poor; and let none of you imagine evil against his brother in your heart.

LSG ¹⁰ N'opprimez pas la veuve et l'orphelin, l'étranger et le pauvre, Et ne méditez pas l'un contre l'autre le mal dans vos coeurs.

MAR ¹⁰ Et ne faites point de tort à la veuve, ni à l'orphelin, ni à l'étranger, ni à l'affligé, et ne méditez aucun mal dans vos coeurs chacun contre son frère.

VULC ¹⁰ Et viduam, et pupillum, et advenam, et pauperem nolite calumniari : et malum vir fratri suo non cogitet in corde suo.

WLC ¹⁰ וְאַלְמָנָ֧ה וְיָת֛וֹם גֵּ֥ר וְעָנִ֖י אַֽל־ תַּעֲשֹׁ֑קוּ וְרָעַת֙ אִ֣ישׁ אָחִ֔יו אַֽל־ תַּחְשְׁב֖וּ בִּלְבַבְכֶֽם׃

KJV ¹¹ But they refused to hearken, and pulled away the shoulder, and stopped their ears, that they should not hear.

LSG ¹¹ Mais ils refusèrent d'être attentifs, ils eurent l'épaule rebelle, et ils endurcirent leurs oreilles pour ne pas entendre.

MAR ¹¹ Mais ils n'y ont point voulu entendre, et ont tiré l'épaule en arrière, et ils ont appesanti leurs oreilles pour ne point ouïr.

VULC ¹¹ Et noluerunt attendere, et averterunt scapulam recedentem, et aures suas aggravaverunt ne audirent.

WLC ¹¹ וַיְמָאֲנ֣וּ לְהַקְשִׁ֔יב וַיִּתְּנ֥וּ כָתֵ֖ף סֹרָ֑רֶת וְאָזְנֵיהֶ֖ם הִכְבִּ֥ידוּ מִשְּׁמֽוֹעַ׃

KJV ¹² Yea, they made their hearts as an adamant stone, lest they should hear the law, and the words which the LORD of hosts hath sent in his spirit by the former prophets: therefore came a great wrath from the LORD of hosts.

LSG ¹² Ils rendirent leur coeur dur comme le diamant, pour ne pas écouter la loi et les paroles que l'Éternel des armées leur adressait par son esprit, par les premiers prophètes. Ainsi l'Éternel des armées s'enflamma d'une grande colère.

MAR ¹² Et ils ont rendu leur coeur [dur comme] le diamant, pour ne point écouter la Loi, et les paroles que l'Eternel des armées envoyait par son Esprit, par le moyen des Prophètes qui ont été ci-devant ; c'est pourquoi il y a eu une grande indignation de par l'Eternel des armées.

VULC ¹² Et cor suum posuerunt ut adamantem, ne audirent legem, et verba quæ misit Dominus exercituum in spiritu suo per manum prophetarum priorum : et facta est indignatio magna a Domino exercituum.

WLC ¹² וְלִבָּ֞ם שָׂ֣מוּ שָׁמִ֗יר מִ֠שְּׁמוֹעַ אֶת־ הַתּוֹרָ֤ה וְאֶת־ הַדְּבָרִים֙ אֲשֶׁ֨ר שָׁלַ֜ח יְהוָ֤ה צְבָאוֹת֙ בְּרוּח֔וֹ בְּיַ֖ד הַנְּבִיאִ֣ים הָרִֽאשֹׁנִ֑ים וַֽיְהִי֙ קֶ֣צֶף גָּד֔וֹל מֵאֵ֖ת יְהוָ֥ה צְבָאֽוֹת׃

KJV ¹³ Therefore it is come to pass, that as he cried, and they would not hear; so they cried, and I would not hear, saith the LORD of hosts:

LSG ¹³ Quand il appelait, ils n'ont pas écouté: aussi n'ai-je pas écouté, quand ils ont appelé, dit l'Éternel des armées.

MAR ¹³ Et il est arrivé, que comme quand on leur a crié, ils n'ont point écouté ; ainsi, quand ils ont crié, je n'ai point écouté, a dit l'Eternel des armées.

VULC ¹³ Et factum est sicut locutus est, et non audierunt : sic clamabunt et non exaudiam, dicit Dominus exercituum.

WLC ¹³ וַיְהִ֥י כַאֲשֶׁר־ קָרָ֖א וְלֹ֣א שָׁמֵ֑עוּ כֵּ֤ן יִקְרְאוּ֙ וְלֹ֣א אֶשְׁמָ֔ע אָמַ֖ר יְהוָ֥ה צְבָאֽוֹת׃

KJV ¹⁴ But I scattered them with a whirlwind among all the nations whom they knew not. Thus the land was desolate after them, that no man passed through nor returned: for they laid the pleasant land desolate.

LSG ¹⁴ Je les ai dispersés parmi toutes les nations qu'ils ne connaissaient pas ; le pays a été dévasté derrière eux, il n'y a plus eu ni allants ni venants ; et d'un pays de délices ils ont fait un désert.

MAR ¹⁴ Et je les ai dispersés [comme] par un tourbillon parmi toutes les nations qu'ils ne connaissaient point, et le pays a été désolé après eux, tellement qu'il n'y a eu personne qui y passât, ni repassât, et on a mis le pays désirable en désolation.

VULC ¹⁴ Et dispersi eos per omnia regna quæ nesciunt : et terra desolata est ab eis, eo quod non esset transiens et revertens : et posuerunt terram desiderabilem in desertum.

WLC ¹⁴ וְאֵ֣סָעֲרֵ֗ם עַ֤ל כָּל־ הַגּוֹיִם֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר לֹֽא־ יְדָע֔וּם וְהָאָ֙רֶץ֙ נָשַׁ֣מָּה אַֽחֲרֵיהֶ֔ם מֵֽעֹבֵ֖ר וּמִשָּׁ֑ב וַיָּשִׂ֥ימוּ אֶֽרֶץ־ חֶמְדָּ֖ה לְשַׁמָּֽה׃
