BAN ¹ Et Josias célébra à Jérusalem une Pâque à l'Eternel ; et on immola la Pâque le quatorze du premier mois.

KJV ¹ Moreover Josiah kept a passover unto the LORD in Jerusalem: and they killed the passover on the fourteenth day of the first month.

BAN ² Et il établit les sacrificateurs dans leurs fonctions et les encouragea au service de la maison de l'Eternel.

KJV ² And he set the priests in their charges, and encouraged them to the service of the house of the LORD,

VULC ² et constituit sacerdotes in officiis suis, hortatusque est eos ut ministrarent in domo Domini :

WLC ² וַיַּעֲמֵ֥ד הַכֹּהֲנִ֖ים עַל־ מִשְׁמְרוֹתָ֑ם וַֽיְחַזְּקֵ֔ם לַעֲבוֹדַ֖ת בֵּ֥ית יְהוָֽה׃

BAN ³ Et il dit aux Lévites qui enseignaient tout Israël [et] qui étaient consacrés à l'Eternel. : Placez l'arche sainte dans la maison qu'a bâtie Salomon, fils de David, roi d'Israël ; vous n'avez plus à la porter sur l'épaule. Maintenant, servez l'Eternel, votre Dieu, et son peuple d'Israël ;

KJV ³ And said unto the Levites that taught all Israel, which were holy unto the LORD, Put the holy ark in the house which Solomon the son of David king of Israel did build; it shall not be a burden upon your shoulders: serve now the LORD your God, and his people Israel,

BAN ⁴ et tenez-vous prêts, selon vos maisons patriarcales, selon vos classes, d'après ce qu'a écrit David, roi d'Israël, et d'après ce qu'a prescrit Salomon, son fils ;

KJV ⁴ And prepare yourselves by the houses of your fathers, after your courses, according to the writing of David king of Israel, and according to the writing of Solomon his son.

VULC ⁴ Et præparate vos per domos et cognationes vestras in divisionibus singulorum, sicut præcepit David rex Israël, et descripsit Salomon filius ejus.

WLC ⁴ וְהָכִ֥ונוּ לְבֵית־ אֲבוֹתֵיכֶ֖ם כְּמַחְלְקוֹתֵיכֶ֑ם בִּכְתָ֗ב דָּוִיד֙ מֶ֣לֶךְ יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל וּבְמִכְתַּ֖ב שְׁלֹמֹ֥ה בְנֽוֹ׃

BAN ⁵ et tenez-vous dans le sanctuaire, d'après les groupes des maisons patriarcales de vos frères, fils du peuple, et d'après les divisions des familles patriarcales des Lévites.

KJV ⁵ And stand in the holy place according to the divisions of the families of the fathers of your brethren the people, and after the division of the families of the Levites.

VULC ⁵ Et ministrate in sanctuario per familias turmasque Leviticas,

WLC ⁵ וְעִמְד֣וּ בַקֹּ֗דֶשׁ לִפְלֻגּוֹת֙ בֵּ֣ית הָֽאָב֔וֹת לַאֲחֵיכֶ֖ם בְּנֵ֣י הָעָ֑ם וַחֲלֻקַּ֥ת בֵּֽית־ אָ֖ב לַלְוִיִּֽם׃

BAN ⁶ Immolez la Pâque, sanctifiez-vous et préparez-[la] pour vos frères, en vous conformant à la parole de l'Eternel, transmise par Moïse.

KJV ⁶ So kill the passover, and sanctify yourselves, and prepare your brethren, that they may do according to the word of the LORD by the hand of Moses.

VULC ⁶ et sanctificati immolate Phase : fratres etiam vestros, ut possint juxta verba quæ locutus est Dominus in manu Moysi facere, præparate.

WLC ⁶ וְשַׁחֲט֖וּ הַפָּ֑סַח וְהִתְקַדְּשׁוּ֙ וְהָכִ֣ינוּ לַאֲחֵיכֶ֔ם לַעֲשׂ֥וֹת כִּדְבַר־ יְהוָ֖ה בְּיַד־ מֹשֶֽׁה׃

BAN ⁷ Et Josias fournit aux fils du peuple du menu bétail, des agneaux et des chevreaux, au nombre de trente mille, le tout comme victimes pascales pour tous ceux qui se trouvaient là, plus trois mille boeufs ; cela provenait des biens du roi.

KJV ⁷ And Josiah gave to the people, of the flock, lambs and kids, all for the passover offerings, for all that were present, to the number of thirty thousand, and three thousand bullocks: these were of the king's substance.

VULC ⁷ Dedit præterea Josias omni populo qui ibi fuerat inventus in solemnitate Phase, agnos et hædos de gregibus et reliqui pecoris triginta millia, boum quoque tria millia : hæc de regis universa substantia.

BAN ⁸ Et ses chefs firent au peuple, aux sacrificateurs et aux Lévites un don spontané : Hilkija, Zacharie et Jéhiel, princes de la maison de Dieu, donnèrent aux sacrificateurs pour les sacrifices de la Pâque deux mille six cents [agneaux] et trois cents boeufs.

KJV ⁸ And his princes gave willingly unto the people, to the priests, and to the Levites: Hilkiah and Zechariah and Jehiel, rulers of the house of God, gave unto the priests for the passover offerings two thousand and six hundred small cattle and three hundred oxen.

BAN ⁹ Et Conania et Sémaïa et Néthanéel, ses frères, et Hasabia, Jéiel et Jozabad, chefs des Lévites, donnèrent aux Lévites pour les sacrifices de la Pâque cinq mille [agneaux] et cinq cents boeufs.

KJV ⁹ Conaniah also, and Shemaiah and Nethaneel, his brethren, and Hashabiah and Jeiel and Jozabad, chief of the Levites, gave unto the Levites for passover offerings five thousand small cattle, and five hundred oxen.

BAN ¹⁰ Et le service fut établi, et les sacrificateurs se tinrent debout à leurs places, et les Lévites [se rangèrent] d'après leurs classes, selon l'ordre du roi.

KJV ¹⁰ So the service was prepared, and the priests stood in their place, and the Levites in their courses, according to the king's commandment.

VULC ¹⁰ Præparatumque est ministerium, et steterunt sacerdotes in officio suo : Levitæ quoque in turmis, juxta regis imperium.

WLC ¹⁰ וַתִּכּ֖וֹן הָעֲבוֹדָ֑ה וַיַּֽעַמְד֨וּ הַכֹּהֲנִ֧ים עַל־ עָמְדָ֛ם וְהַלְוִיִּ֥ם עַל־ מַחְלְקוֹתָ֖ם כְּמִצְוַ֥ת הַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃

BAN ¹¹ Et ils immolèrent la Pâque, et les sacrificateurs firent l'aspersion [avec le sang qu'ils recevaient] de leurs mains, et les Lévites dépouillaient [les victimes].

KJV ¹¹ And they killed the passover, and the priests sprinkled the blood from their hands, and the Levites flayed them.

VULC ¹¹ Et immolatum est Phase : asperseruntque sacerdotes manu sua sanguinem, et Levitæ detraxerunt pelles holocaustorum :

BAN ¹² Et ils mirent de côté les holocaustes, pour les donner aux subdivisions des maisons patriarcales des fils du peuple, afin qu'ils les offrissent à l'Eternel, comme il est écrit dans le livre de Moïse, et de même pour les boeufs.

KJV ¹² And they removed the burnt offerings, that they might give according to the divisions of the families of the people, to offer unto the LORD, as it is written in the book of Moses. And so did they with the oxen.

VULC ¹² et separaverunt ea ut darent per domos et familias singulorum, et offerrentur Domino, sicut scriptum est in libro Moysi : de bobus quoque fecerunt similiter.

BAN ¹³ Et ils firent cuire la Pâque selon l'ordonnance, et ils firent cuire les choses saintes dans des chaudières, des chaudrons et des poêles ; et ils s'empressèrent de les porter à tous les fils du peuple.

KJV ¹³ And they roasted the passover with fire according to the ordinance: but the other holy offerings sod they in pots, and in caldrons, and in pans, and divided them speedily among all the people.

KJV ¹⁴ And afterward they made ready for themselves, and for the priests: because the priests the sons of Aaron were busied in offering of burnt offerings and the fat until night; therefore the Levites prepared for themselves, and for the priests the sons of Aaron.

KJV ¹⁵ And the singers the sons of Asaph were in their place, according to the commandment of David, and Asaph, and Heman, and Jeduthun the king's seer; and the porters waited at every gate; they might not depart from their service; for their brethren the Levites prepared for them.

BAN ¹⁶ Et tout le service de l'Eternel fut établi ce jour-là, pour célébrer la Pâque et pour offrir des holocaustes sur l'autel de l'Eternel, d'après l'ordre du roi Josias.

KJV ¹⁶ So all the service of the LORD was prepared the same day, to keep the passover, and to offer burnt offerings upon the altar of the LORD, according to the commandment of king Josiah.

VULC ¹⁶ Omnis igitur cultura Domini rite completa est in die illa, ut facerent Phase, et offerrent holocausta super altare Domini, juxta præceptum regis Josiæ.

BAN ¹⁷ Et les fils d'Israël qui se trouvaient là célébrèrent la Pâque en ce temps et la fête des pains sans levain pendant sept jours.

KJV ¹⁷ And the children of Israel that were present kept the passover at that time, and the feast of unleavened bread seven days.

VULC ¹⁷ Feceruntque filii Israël, qui reperti fuerant ibi, Phase in tempore illo, et solemnitatem azymorum septem diebus.

WLC ¹⁷ וַיַּעֲשׂ֨וּ בְנֵֽי־ יִשְׂרָאֵ֧ל הַֽנִּמְצְאִ֛ים אֶת־ הַפֶּ֖סַח בָּעֵ֣ת הַהִ֑יא וְאֶת־ חַ֥ג הַמַּצּ֖וֹת שִׁבְעַ֥ת יָמִֽים׃

BAN ¹⁸ Et aucune Pâque pareille à celle-là n'avait été célébrée en Israël depuis les jours de Samuel, le prophète, et aucun des rois d'Israël n'avait célébré une Pâque pareille à celle que célébrèrent Josias et les sacrificateurs et les Lévites et tout Juda et Israël qui se trouvaient là, et les habitants de Jérusalem.

KJV ¹⁸ And there was no passover like to that kept in Israel from the days of Samuel the prophet; neither did all the kings of Israel keep such a passover as Josiah kept, and the priests, and the Levites, and all Judah and Israel that were present, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem.

VULC ¹⁸ Non fuit Phase simile huic in Israël a diebus Samuelis prophetæ : sed nec quisquam de cunctis regibus Israël fecit Phase sicut Josias, sacerdotibus, et Levitis, et omni Judæ et Israël qui repertus fuerat, et habitantibus in Jerusalem.

BAN ¹⁹ C'est la dix-huitième année du règne de Josias que fut célébrée cette Pâque.

KJV ¹⁹ In the eighteenth year of the reign of Josiah was this passover kept.

VULC ¹⁹ Octavodecimo anno regni Josiæ hoc Phase celebratum est.

WLC ¹⁹ בִּשְׁמוֹנֶ֤ה עֶשְׂרֵה֙ שָׁנָ֔ה לְמַלְכ֖וּת יֹאשִׁיָּ֑הוּ נַעֲשָׂ֖ה הַפֶּ֥סַח הַזֶּֽה׃

BAN ²⁰ Après tout cela, quand Josias eut mis en état la maison [de Dieu], Néco, roi d'Egypte, étant monté pour combattre à Carkémis, sur l'Euphrate, Josias sortit à sa rencontre.

KJV ²⁰ After all this, when Josiah had prepared the temple, Necho king of Egypt came up to fight against Charchemish by Euphrates: and Josiah went out against him.

VULC ²⁰ Postquam instauraverat Josias templum, ascendit Nechao rex Ægypti ad pugnandum in Charcamis juxta Euphraten : et processit in occursum ejus Josias.

WLC ²⁰ אַחֲרֵ֣י כָל־ זֹ֗את אֲשֶׁ֨ר הֵכִ֤ין יֹֽאשִׁיָּ֙הוּ֙ אֶת־ הַבַּ֔יִת עָלָ֞ה נְכ֧וֹ מֶֽלֶךְ־ מִצְרַ֛יִם לְהִלָּחֵ֥ם בְּכַרְכְּמִ֖ישׁ עַל־ פְּרָ֑ת וַיֵּצֵ֥א לִקְרָאת֖וֹ יֹאשִׁיָּֽהוּ׃

BAN ²¹ Et [Néco] lui envoya de messagers pour dire : Qu'y a-t-il entre moi et toi, roi de Juda ? Ce n'est pas contre toi que [je viens] aujourd'hui, mais contre la maison avec laquelle je suis en guerre. Et Dieu a dit que je dois me hâter. Cède à Dieu, qui est avec moi, et qu'il ne te détruise pas !

KJV ²¹ But he sent ambassadors to him, saying, What have I to do with thee, thou king of Judah? I come not against thee this day, but against the house wherewith I have war: for God commanded me to make haste: forbear thee from meddling with God, who is with me, that he destroy thee not.

VULC ²¹ At ille, missis ad eum nuntiis, ait : Quid mihi et tibi est, rex Juda ? non adversum te hodie venio, sed contra aliam pugno domum, ad quam me Deus festinato ire præcepit : desine adversum Deum facere, qui mecum est, ne interficiat te.

WLC ²¹ וַיִּשְׁלַ֣ח אֵלָ֣יו מַלְאָכִ֣ים ׀ לֵאמֹר֩ ׀ מַה־ לִּ֨י וָלָ֜ךְ מֶ֣לֶךְ יְהוּדָ֗ה לֹא־ עָלֶ֨יךָ אַתָּ֤ה הַיּוֹם֙ כִּ֚י אֶל־ בֵּ֣ית מִלְחַמְתִּ֔י וֵאלֹהִ֖ים אָמַ֣ר לְבַֽהֲלֵ֑נִי חֲדַל־ לְךָ֛ מֵאֱלֹהִ֥ים אֲשֶׁר־ עִמִּ֖י וְאַל־ יַשְׁחִיתֶֽךָ׃

BAN ²² Mais Josias ne se détourna pas de lui ; il se déguisa pour l'attaquer, et il n'écouta pas les paroles de Néco, qui venaient de la bouche de Dieu. Et il vint pour combattre dans la vallée de Méguiddo.

KJV ²² Nevertheless Josiah would not turn his face from him, but disguised himself, that he might fight with him, and hearkened not unto the words of Necho from the mouth of God, and came to fight in the valley of Megiddo.

VULC ²² Noluit Josias reverti, sed præparavit contra eum bellum, nec acquievit sermonibus Nechao ex ore Dei : verum perrexit ut dimicaret in campo Mageddo.

WLC ²² וְלֹֽא־ הֵסֵב֩ יֹאשִׁיָּ֨הוּ פָנָ֜יו מִמֶּ֗נּוּ כִּ֤י לְהִלָּחֵֽם־ בּוֹ֙ הִתְחַפֵּ֔שׂ וְלֹ֥א שָׁמַ֛ע אֶל־ דִּבְרֵ֥י נְכ֖וֹ מִפִּ֣י אֱלֹהִ֑ים וַיָּבֹ֕א לְהִלָּחֵ֖ם בְּבִקְעַ֥ת מְגִדּֽוֹ׃

BAN ²³ Et les archers tirèrent contre le roi Josias, et le roi dit à ses serviteurs : Emportez-moi, car je suis grièvement blessé.

KJV ²³ And the archers shot at king Josiah; and the king said to his servants, Have me away; for I am sore wounded.

VULC ²³ Ibique vulneratus a sagittariis, dixit pueris suis : Educite me de prælio, quia oppido vulneratus sum.

WLC ²³ וַיֹּרוּ֙ הַיֹּרִ֔ים לַמֶּ֖לֶךְ יֹאשִׁיָּ֑הוּ וַיֹּ֨אמֶר הַמֶּ֤לֶךְ לַעֲבָדָיו֙ הַעֲבִיר֔וּנִי כִּ֥י הָחֳלֵ֖יתִי מְאֹֽד׃

BAN ²⁴ Et ses serviteurs l'emportèrent du char et le firent monter sur son second char et l'amenèrent à Jérusalem. Et il mourut et fut enterré dans les sépulcres de ses pères. Et tout Juda et Jérusalem menèrent deuil sur Josias.

KJV ²⁴ His servants therefore took him out of that chariot, and put him in the second chariot that he had; and they brought him to Jerusalem, and he died, and was buried in one of the sepulchres of his fathers. And all Judah and Jerusalem mourned for Josiah.

VULC ²⁴ Qui transtulerunt eum de curru in alterum currum, qui sequebatur eum more regio, et asportaverunt eum in Jerusalem : mortuusque est, et sepultus in mausoleo patrum suorum, et universus Juda et Jerusalem luxerunt eum.

WLC ²⁴ וַיַּֽעֲבִירֻ֨הוּ עֲבָדָ֜יו מִן־ הַמֶּרְכָּבָ֗ה וַֽיַּרְכִּיבֻהוּ֮ עַ֣ל רֶ֣כֶב הַמִּשְׁנֶה֮ אֲשֶׁר־ לוֹ֒ וַיּוֹלִיכֻ֙הוּ֙ יְר֣וּשָׁלִַ֔ם וַיָּ֕מָת וַיִּקָּבֵ֖ר בְּקִבְר֣וֹת אֲבֹתָ֑יו וְכָל־ יְהוּדָה֙ וִיר֣וּשָׁלִַ֔ם מִֽתְאַבְּלִ֖ים עַל־ יֹאשִׁיָּֽהוּ׃

BAN ²⁵ Et Jérémie fit une complainte sur Josias ; et tous les chanteurs et chanteuses ont parlé de Josias dans leurs complaintes jusqu'à ce jour ; et on en fit une institution en Israël ; et voici, elles sont écrites dans les Complaintes.

KJV ²⁵ And Jeremiah lamented for Josiah: and all the singing men and the singing women spake of Josiah in their lamentations to this day, and made them an ordinance in Israel: and, behold, they are written in the lamentations.

VULC ²⁵ Jeremias maxime : cujus omnes cantores atque cantatrices, usque in præsentem diem, lamentationes super Josiam replicant, et quasi lex obtinuit in Israël : Ecce scriptum fertur in lamentationibus.

WLC ²⁵ וַיְקוֹנֵ֣ן יִרְמְיָהוּ֮ עַל־ יֹאשִׁיָּהוּ֒ וַיֹּאמְר֣וּ כָֽל־ הַשָּׁרִ֣ים ׀ וְ֠הַשָּׁרוֹת בְּקִינ֨וֹתֵיהֶ֤ם עַל־ יֹאשִׁיָּ֙הוּ֙ עַד־ הַיּ֔וֹם וַיִּתְּנ֥וּם לְחֹ֖ק עַל־ יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וְהִנָּ֥ם כְּתוּבִ֖ים עַל־ הַקִּינֽוֹת׃

BAN ²⁶ Et le reste des actions de Josias, et ses oeuvres de piété, conformes à ce qui est écrit dans la loi de l'Eternel,

KJV ²⁶ Now the rest of the acts of Josiah, and his goodness, according to that which was written in the law of the LORD,

VULC ²⁶ Reliqua autem sermonum Josiæ, et misericordiarum ejus, quæ lege præcepta sunt Domini,

WLC ²⁶ וְיֶ֛תֶר דִּבְרֵ֥י יֹאשִׁיָּ֖הוּ וַחֲסָדָ֑יו כַּכָּת֖וּב בְּתוֹרַ֥ת יְהוָֽה׃

BAN ²⁷ et ses premières et ses dernières actions, voici, cela est écrit dans le livre des rois d'Israël et de Juda.

KJV ²⁷ And his deeds, first and last, behold, they are written in the book of the kings of Israel and Judah.

VULC ²⁷ opera quoque illius prima et novissima, scripta sunt in libro regum Juda et Israël.
