KJV ³ The God of my rock; in him will I trust: he is my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge, my saviour; thou savest me from violence.

mon bouclier et la force qui me sauve,
mon rempart et mon refuge.
Mon Sauveur, tu me garantis de la violence.

KJV ⁴ I will call on the LORD, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies.

S21 ⁴ Loué soit l'Eternel! Je crie à lui
et je suis délivré de mes ennemis.

KJV ⁵ When the waves of death compassed me, the floods of ungodly men made me afraid;

S21 ⁵ »Oui, les flots de la mort m'avaient enserré,
et les torrents dévastateurs m'avaient épouvanté.

KJV ⁶ The sorrows of hell compassed me about; the snares of death prevented me;

S21 ⁶ Les liens du séjour des morts m'avaient entouré,
les pièges de la mort m'avaient surpris.

KJV ⁷ In my distress I called upon the LORD, and cried to my God: and he did hear my voice out of his temple, and my cry did enter into his ears.

j'ai appelé mon Dieu;
de son palais, il a entendu ma voix,
mon cri est parvenu à ses oreilles.

KJV ⁸ Then the earth shook and trembled; the foundations of heaven moved and shook, because he was wroth.

les fondements du ciel ont vacillé,
ils ont été ébranlés,
parce qu'il était irrité.

KJV ⁹ There went up a smoke out of his nostrils, and fire out of his mouth devoured: coals were kindled by it.

et un feu dévorant sortait de sa bouche,

KJV ¹⁰ He bowed the heavens also, and came down; and darkness was under his feet.

KJV ¹¹ And he rode upon a cherub, and did fly: and he was seen upon the wings of the wind.

S21 ¹¹ Il était monté sur un chérubin et il volait,
il apparaissait monté sur les ailes du vent.

KJV ¹² And he made darkness pavilions round about him, dark waters, and thick clouds of the skies.

c'était un amas d'eau, de sombres nuages.

KJV ¹³ Through the brightness before him were coals of fire kindled.

d'où provenaient tout brûlants des charbons de feu.

KJV ¹⁴ The LORD thundered from heaven, and the most High uttered his voice.

S21 ¹⁴ L'Eternel a tonné du haut du ciel,
le Très-Haut a fait retentir sa voix.

KJV ¹⁵ And he sent out arrows, and scattered them; lightning, and discomfited them.

S21 ¹⁵ Il a lancé des flèches et dispersé mes ennemis,
il a lancé des éclairs et les a mis en déroute.

KJV ¹⁶ And the channels of the sea appeared, the foundations of the world were discovered, at the rebuking of the LORD, at the blast of the breath of his nostrils.

KJV ¹⁷ He sent from above, he took me; he drew me out of many waters;

il m'a retiré des grandes eaux.

KJV ¹⁸ He delivered me from my strong enemy, and from them that hated me: for they were too strong for me.

de mes ennemis qui étaient plus forts que moi.

KJV ¹⁹ They prevented me in the day of my calamity: but the LORD was my stay.

S21 ¹⁹ Ils m'avaient surpris lorsque j'étais dans la détresse,
mais l'Eternel a été mon appui.

KJV ²⁰ He brought me forth also into a large place: he delivered me, because he delighted in me.

S21 ²⁰ Il m'a mis au large,
il m'a sauvé, parce qu'il m'aime.

KJV ²¹ The LORD rewarded me according to my righteousness: according to the cleanness of my hands hath he recompensed me.

L'Eternel m'a récompensé de ma justice,
il m'a traité conformément à la pureté de mes mains,

KJV ²² For I have kept the ways of the LORD, and have not wickedly departed from my God.

S21 ²² car j'ai suivi les voies de l'Eternel
et je n'ai pas été coupable envers mon Dieu.

KJV ²³ For all his judgments were before me: and as for his statutes, I did not depart from them.

S21 ²³ Toutes ses règles ont été devant moi
et je ne me suis pas écarté de ses prescriptions.

KJV ²⁴ I was also upright before him, and have kept myself from mine iniquity.

S21 ²⁴ J'ai été intègre envers lui
et je me suis tenu en garde contre mon péché.

KJV ²⁵ Therefore the LORD hath recompensed me according to my righteousness; according to my cleanness in his eye sight.

S21 ²⁵ Alors l'Eternel m'a traité conformément à ma justice,
à la pureté qu'il a vue chez moi.

KJV ²⁶ With the merciful thou wilt shew thyself merciful, and with the upright man thou wilt shew thyself upright.

S21 ²⁶ »Avec celui qui est fidèle tu te montres fidèle,
avec l'homme intègre tu agis avec intégrité,

KJV ²⁷ With the pure thou wilt shew thyself pure; and with the froward thou wilt shew thyself unsavoury.

S21 ²⁷ avec celui qui est pur tu te montres pur,
et avec l'homme faux tu te montres habile.

KJV ²⁸ And the afflicted people thou wilt save: but thine eyes are upon the haughty, that thou mayest bring them down.

S21 ²⁸ Tu sauves le peuple qui s'humilie,
et tu abaisses ton regard sur les orgueilleux.

KJV ²⁹ For thou art my lamp, O LORD: and the LORD will lighten my darkness.

S21 ²⁹ Oui, tu es ma lumière, Eternel!
L'Eternel éclaire mes ténèbres.

KJV ³⁰ For by thee I have run through a troop: by my God have I leaped over a wall.

S21 ³⁰ Avec toi je me précipite sur une troupe tout armée,
avec mon Dieu je franchis une muraille.

KJV ³¹ As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the LORD is tried: he is a buckler to all them that trust in him.

la parole de l'Eternel est pure;
il est un bouclier
pour tous ceux qui se confient en lui.

KJV ³² For who is God, save the LORD? and who is a rock, save our God?

S21 ³² Qui est Dieu en dehors de l'Eternel,
et qui est un rocher, sinon notre Dieu?

KJV ³³ God is my strength and power: and he maketh my way perfect.

S21 ³³ C'est Dieu qui est ma puissante forteresse 
et qui me conduit dans une voie droite.

KJV ³⁴ He maketh my feet like hinds' feet: and setteth me upon my high places.

S21 ³⁴ Il rend mes pieds aussi agiles que ceux des biches,
et il me fait tenir debout sur les hauteurs.

KJV ³⁵ He teacheth my hands to war; so that a bow of steel is broken by mine arms.

S21 ³⁵ Il exerce mes mains au combat
et mes bras tendent l'arc en bronze.

KJV ³⁶ Thou hast also given me the shield of thy salvation: and thy gentleness hath made me great.

S21 ³⁶ »Tu me donnes le bouclier de ton salut,
et je deviens grand par ta bonté.

KJV ³⁷ Thou hast enlarged my steps under me; so that my feet did not slip.

S21 ³⁷ Tu élargis le chemin sous mes pas,
et mes pieds ne trébuchent pas.

KJV ³⁸ I have pursued mine enemies, and destroyed them; and turned not again until I had consumed them.

S21 ³⁸ Je poursuis mes ennemis et je les détruis,
je ne reviens pas avant de les avoir exterminés.

KJV ³⁹ And I have consumed them, and wounded them, that they could not arise: yea, they are fallen under my feet.

S21 ³⁹ Je les frappe, je les brise, et ils ne se relèvent plus,
ils tombent sous mes pieds.

KJV ⁴⁰ For thou hast girded me with strength to battle: them that rose up against me hast thou subdued under me.

S21 ⁴⁰ Tu me donnes de la force pour le combat,
tu fais plier sous moi mes adversaires.

KJV ⁴¹ Thou hast also given me the necks of mine enemies, that I might destroy them that hate me.

S21 ⁴¹ Tu mets mes ennemis en fuite devant moi,
et je réduis au silence ceux qui me détestent.

KJV ⁴² They looked, but there was none to save; even unto the LORD, but he answered them not.

S21 ⁴² Ils regardent autour d'eux, et personne pour les sauver!
Ils crient à l'Eternel, et il ne leur répond pas!

KJV ⁴³ Then did I beat them as small as the dust of the earth, I did stamp them as the mire of the street, and did spread them abroad.

S21 ⁴³ Je les réduis en miettes, je les rends pareils à la poussière de la terre,
je les écrase, je les piétine comme la boue des rues.

KJV ⁴⁴ Thou also hast delivered me from the strivings of my people, thou hast kept me to be head of the heathen: a people which I knew not shall serve me.

S21 ⁴⁴ »Tu me délivres des révoltes de mon peuple;
tu me gardes à la tête des nations;
un peuple que je ne connaissais pas m'est soumis.

KJV ⁴⁵ Strangers shall submit themselves unto me: as soon as they hear, they shall be obedient unto me.

ils m'obéissent au premier ordre.

KJV ⁴⁶ Strangers shall fade away, and they shall be afraid out of their close places.

KJV ⁴⁷ The LORD liveth; and blessed be my rock; and exalted be the God of the rock of my salvation.

Que l'on dise la grandeur de Dieu, le rocher de mon salut!

KJV ⁴⁸ It is God that avengeth me, and that bringeth down the people under me.

qui m'asservit les peuples,

KJV ⁴⁹ And that bringeth me forth from mine enemies: thou also hast lifted me up on high above them that rose up against me: thou hast delivered me from the violent man.

Tu m'élèves au-dessus de mes adversaires,
tu me sauves de l'homme violent.

KJV ⁵⁰ Therefore I will give thanks unto thee, O LORD, among the heathen, and I will sing praises unto thy name.

KJV ⁵¹ He is the tower of salvation for his king: and sheweth mercy to his anointed, unto David, and to his seed for evermore.

KJV ¹ Now these be the last words of David. David the son of Jesse said, and the man who was raised up on high, the anointed of the God of Jacob, and the sweet psalmist of Israel, said,

KJV ² The Spirit of the LORD spake by me, and his word was in my tongue.

KJV ³ The God of Israel said, the Rock of Israel spake to me, He that ruleth over men must be just, ruling in the fear of God.

‘Celui qui règne parmi les hommes avec justice,
celui qui règne dans la crainte de Dieu,

KJV ⁴ And he shall be as the light of the morning, when the sun riseth, even a morning without clouds; as the tender grass springing out of the earth by clear shining after rain.

quand le soleil brille
et que la matinée est sans nuages:
après la pluie, ses rayons font sortir de terre la verdure.'

KJV ⁵ Although my house be not so with God; yet he hath made with me an everlasting covenant, ordered in all things, and sure: for this is all my salvation, and all my desire, although he make it not to grow.

KJV ⁶ But the sons of Belial shall be all of them as thorns thrust away, because they cannot be taken with hands:

KJV ⁷ But the man that shall touch them must be fenced with iron and the staff of a spear; and they shall be utterly burned with fire in the same place.

KJV ⁸ These be the names of the mighty men whom David had: The Tachmonite that sat in the seat, chief among the captains; the same was Adino the Eznite: he lift up his spear against eight hundred, whom he slew at one time.

KJV ⁹ And after him was Eleazar the son of Dodo the Ahohite, one of the three mighty men with David, when they defied the Philistines that were there gathered together to battle, and the men of Israel were gone away:

KJV ¹⁰ He arose, and smote the Philistines until his hand was weary, and his hand clave unto the sword: and the LORD wrought a great victory that day; and the people returned after him only to spoil.

S21 ¹⁰ Il se leva et frappa les Philistins jusqu'à ce que sa main soit fatiguée et reste collée à son épée. L'Eternel accomplit une grande délivrance ce jour-là. Le peuple ne revint après Eléazar que pour procéder au pillage.

KJV ¹¹ And after him was Shammah the son of Agee the Hararite. And the Philistines were gathered together into a troop, where was a piece of ground full of lentiles: and the people fled from the Philistines.

S21 ¹¹ Après lui venait Shamma, fils d'Agué, originaire d'Harar. Les Philistins s'étaient rassemblés à Léchi. Il y avait là une parcelle de terre remplie de lentilles et le peuple avait pris la fuite devant les Philistins.

KJV ¹² But he stood in the midst of the ground, and defended it, and slew the Philistines: and the LORD wrought a great victory.

S21 ¹² Shamma se posta au milieu du champ et le protégea. Il battit les Philistins et l'Eternel accomplit une grande délivrance.

KJV ¹³ And three of the thirty chief went down, and came to David in the harvest time unto the cave of Adullam: and the troop of the Philistines pitched in the valley of Rephaim.

KJV ¹⁴ And David was then in an hold, and the garrison of the Philistines was then in Bethlehem.

KJV ¹⁵ And David longed, and said, Oh that one would give me drink of the water of the well of Bethlehem, which is by the gate!

KJV ¹⁶ And the three mighty men brake through the host of the Philistines, and drew water out of the well of Bethlehem, that was by the gate, and took it, and brought it to David: nevertheless he would not drink thereof, but poured it out unto the LORD.

S21 ¹⁶ Alors ces trois vaillants hommes pénétrèrent de force dans le camp des Philistins et puisèrent de l'eau dans la citerne qui se trouve à la porte de Bethléhem. Puis ils l'apportèrent et la présentèrent à David, mais il refusa de la boire et il la versa comme une offrande à l'Eternel.

KJV ¹⁷ And he said, Be it far from me, O LORD, that I should do this: is not this the blood of the men that went in jeopardy of their lives? therefore he would not drink it. These things did these three mighty men.

S21 ¹⁷ Il dit: «Certainement, Eternel, je ne vais pas faire cela! Pourrais-je boire le sang de ces hommes qui sont partis au péril de leur vie?» Et il refusa de la boire. Voilà ce que firent ces trois vaillants hommes.

KJV ¹⁸ And Abishai, the brother of Joab, the son of Zeruiah, was chief among three. And he lifted up his spear against three hundred, and slew them, and had the name among three.

S21 ¹⁸ Abishaï, le frère de Joab et le fils de Tseruja, était le chef des trois. Il brandit sa lance sur 300 hommes et les tua. Il eut une grande réputation parmi les trois.

KJV ¹⁹ Was he not most honourable of three? therefore he was their captain: howbeit he attained not unto the first three.

KJV ²⁰ And Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, the son of a valiant man, of Kabzeel, who had done many acts, he slew two lionlike men of Moab: he went down also and slew a lion in the midst of a pit in time of snow:

S21 ²⁰ Benaja, le fils de Jehojada, qui était un homme vaillant de Kabtseel, fut célèbre par ses exploits. C'est lui qui frappa les deux héros de Moab. Il descendit au milieu d'une citerne et il y frappa un lion, un jour de neige.

KJV ²¹ And he slew an Egyptian, a goodly man: and the Egyptian had a spear in his hand; but he went down to him with a staff, and plucked the spear out of the Egyptian's hand, and slew him with his own spear.

S21 ²¹ Il frappa un Egyptien de belle allure qui tenait une lance à la main. Il descendit contre l'Egyptien avec un bâton, arracha la lance de sa main et s'en servit pour le tuer.

KJV ²² These things did Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and had the name among three mighty men.

S21 ²² Voilà ce que fit Benaja, fils de Jehojada. Il eut une grande réputation parmi les trois vaillants hommes.

KJV ²³ He was more honourable than the thirty, but he attained not to the first three. And David set him over his guard.

S21 ²³ Il était le plus considéré des trente, mais il n'égala pas les trois premiers. David l'admit dans sa garde personnelle.

KJV ²⁴ Asahel the brother of Joab was one of the thirty; Elhanan the son of Dodo of Bethlehem,
