KJV ¹ Then answered Bildad the Shuhite, and said,

VULC ¹ Respondens autem Baldad Suhites, dixit :

WLC ¹ וַ֭יַּעַן בִּלְדַּ֥ד הַשֻּׁחִ֗י וַיֹּאמַֽר׃

KJV ² How long will it be ere ye make an end of words? mark, and afterwards we will speak.

VULC ² [Usque ad quem finem verba jactabitis ?
intelligite prius, et sic loquamur.

WLC ² עַד־ אָ֤נָה ׀ תְּשִׂימ֣וּן קִנְצֵ֣י לְמִלִּ֑ין תָּ֝בִ֗ינוּ וְאַחַ֥ר נְדַבֵּֽר׃

KJV ³ Wherefore are we counted as beasts, and reputed vile in your sight?

VULC ³ Quare reputati sumus ut jumenta,
et sorduimus coram vobis ?

WLC ³ מַ֭דּוּעַ נֶחְשַׁ֣בְנוּ כַבְּהֵמָ֑ה נִ֝טְמִ֗ינוּ בְּעֵינֵיכֶֽם׃

KJV ⁴ He teareth himself in his anger: shall the earth be forsaken for thee? and shall the rock be removed out of his place?

VULC ⁴ Qui perdis animam tuam in furore tuo,
numquid propter te derelinquetur terra,
et transferentur rupes de loco suo ?

WLC ⁴ טֹֽרֵ֥ף נַפְשׁ֗וֹ בְּאַ֫פּ֥וֹ הַ֭לְמַעַנְךָ תֵּעָ֣זַב אָ֑רֶץ וְיֶעְתַּק־ צ֝֗וּר מִמְּקֹמֽוֹ׃

KJV ⁵ Yea, the light of the wicked shall be put out, and the spark of his fire shall not shine.

VULC ⁵ Nonne lux impii extinguetur,
nec splendebit flamma ignis ejus ?

WLC ⁵ גַּ֤ם א֣וֹר רְשָׁעִ֣ים יִדְעָ֑ךְ וְלֹֽא־ יִ֝גַּ֗הּ שְׁבִ֣יב אִשּֽׁוֹ׃

KJV ⁶ The light shall be dark in his tabernacle, and his candle shall be put out with him.

VULC ⁶ Lux obtenebrescet in tabernaculo illius,
et lucerna quæ super eum est extinguetur.

WLC ⁶ א֭וֹר חָשַׁ֣ךְ בְּאָהֳל֑וֹ וְ֝נֵר֗וֹ עָלָ֥יו יִדְעָֽךְ׃

KJV ⁷ The steps of his strength shall be straitened, and his own counsel shall cast him down.

VULC ⁷ Arctabuntur gressus virtutis ejus,
et præcipitabit eum consilium suum.

WLC ⁷ יֵֽ֭צְרוּ צַעֲדֵ֣י אוֹנ֑וֹ וְֽתַשְׁלִיכֵ֥הוּ עֲצָתֽוֹ׃

KJV ⁸ For he is cast into a net by his own feet, and he walketh upon a snare.

VULC ⁸ Immisit enim in rete pedes suos,
et in maculis ejus ambulat.

WLC ⁸ כִּֽי־ שֻׁלַּ֣ח בְּרֶ֣שֶׁת בְּרַגְלָ֑יו וְעַל־ שְׂ֝בָכָ֗ה יִתְהַלָּֽךְ׃

KJV ⁹ The gin shall take him by the heel, and the robber shall prevail against him.

VULC ⁹ Tenebitur planta illius laqueo,
et exardescet contra eum sitis.

WLC ⁹ יֹאחֵ֣ז בְּעָקֵ֣ב פָּ֑ח יַחֲזֵ֖ק עָלָ֣יו צַמִּֽים׃

KJV ¹⁰ The snare is laid for him in the ground, and a trap for him in the way.

VULC ¹⁰ Abscondita est in terra pedica ejus,
et decipula illius super semitam.

WLC ¹⁰ טָמ֣וּן בָּאָ֣רֶץ חַבְל֑וֹ וּ֝מַלְכֻּדְתּ֗וֹ עֲלֵ֣י נָתִֽיב׃

KJV ¹¹ Terrors shall make him afraid on every side, and shall drive him to his feet.

VULC ¹¹ Undique terrebunt eum formidines,
et involvent pedes ejus.

WLC ¹¹ סָ֭בִיב בִּֽעֲתֻ֣הוּ בַלָּה֑וֹת וֶהֱפִיצֻ֥הוּ לְרַגְלָֽיו׃

KJV ¹² His strength shall be hungerbitten, and destruction shall be ready at his side.

VULC ¹² Attenuetur fame robur ejus,
et inedia invadat costas illius.

WLC ¹² יְהִי־ רָעֵ֥ב אֹנ֑וֹ וְ֝אֵ֗יד נָכ֥וֹן לְצַלְעֽוֹ׃

KJV ¹³ It shall devour the strength of his skin: even the firstborn of death shall devour his strength.

VULC ¹³ Devoret pulchritudinem cutis ejus ;
consumat brachia illius primogenita mors.

WLC ¹³ יֹ֭אכַל בַּדֵּ֣י עוֹר֑וֹ יֹאכַ֥ל בַּ֝דָּ֗יו בְּכ֣וֹר מָֽוֶת׃

KJV ¹⁴ His confidence shall be rooted out of his tabernacle, and it shall bring him to the king of terrors.

VULC ¹⁴ Avellatur de tabernaculo suo fiducia ejus,
et calcet super eum, quasi rex, interitus.

WLC ¹⁴ יִנָּתֵ֣ק מֵ֭אָהֳלוֹ מִבְטַח֑וֹ וְ֝תַצְעִדֵ֗הוּ לְמֶ֣לֶךְ בַּלָּהֽוֹת׃

KJV ¹⁵ It shall dwell in his tabernacle, because it is none of his: brimstone shall be scattered upon his habitation.

VULC ¹⁵ Habitent in tabernaculo illius socii ejus qui non est ;
aspergatur in tabernaculo ejus sulphur.

WLC ¹⁵ תִּשְׁכּ֣וֹן בְּ֭אָהֳלוֹ מִבְּלִי־ ל֑וֹ יְזֹרֶ֖ה עַל־ נָוֵ֣הוּ גָפְרִֽית׃

KJV ¹⁶ His roots shall be dried up beneath, and above shall his branch be cut off.

VULC ¹⁶ Deorsum radices ejus siccentur :
sursum autem atteratur messis ejus.

WLC ¹⁶ מִ֭תַּחַת שָֽׁרָשָׁ֣יו יִבָ֑שׁוּ וּ֝מִמַּ֗עַל יִמַּ֥ל קְצִירֽוֹ׃

KJV ¹⁷ His remembrance shall perish from the earth, and he shall have no name in the street.

VULC ¹⁷ Memoria illius pereat de terra,
et non celebretur nomen ejus in plateis.

WLC ¹⁷ זִֽכְרוֹ־ אָ֭בַד מִנִּי־ אָ֑רֶץ וְלֹא־ שֵׁ֥ם ל֝֗וֹ עַל־ פְּנֵי־ חֽוּץ׃

KJV ¹⁸ He shall be driven from light into darkness, and chased out of the world.

VULC ¹⁸ Expellet eum de luce in tenebras,
et de orbe transferet eum.

WLC ¹⁸ יֶ֭הְדְּפֻהוּ מֵא֣וֹר אֶל־ חֹ֑שֶׁךְ וּֽמִתֵּבֵ֥ל יְנִדֻּֽהוּ׃

KJV ¹⁹ He shall neither have son nor nephew among his people, nor any remaining in his dwellings.

VULC ¹⁹ Non erit semen ejus, neque progenies in populo suo,
nec ullæ reliquiæ in regionibus ejus.

WLC ¹⁹ לֹ֘א נִ֤ין ל֣וֹ וְלֹא־ נֶ֣כֶד בְּעַמּ֑וֹ וְאֵ֥ין שָׂ֝רִ֗יד בִּמְגוּרָֽיו׃

KJV ²⁰ They that come after him shall be astonied at his day, as they that went before were affrighted.

VULC ²⁰ In die ejus stupebunt novissimi,
et primos invadet horror.

WLC ²⁰ עַל־ י֭וֹמוֹ נָשַׁ֣מּוּ אַחֲרֹנִ֑ים וְ֝קַדְמֹנִ֗ים אָ֣חֲזוּ שָֽׂעַר׃

KJV ²¹ Surely such are the dwellings of the wicked, and this is the place of him that knoweth not God.

VULC ²¹ Hæc sunt ergo tabernacula iniqui,
et iste locus ejus qui ignorat Deum.]

WLC ²¹ אַךְ־ אֵ֭לֶּה מִשְׁכְּנ֣וֹת עַוָּ֑ל וְ֝זֶ֗ה מְק֣וֹם לֹא־ יָדַֽע־ אֵֽל׃
