Job 18KJV 1 Then answered Bildad the Shuhite, and said,
VULC 1 Respondens autem Baldad Suhites, dixit :
WLC 1 וַ֭יַּעַן בִּלְדַּ֥ד הַשֻּׁחִ֗י וַיֹּאמַֽר׃
KJV 2 How long will it be ere ye make an end of words? mark, and afterwards we will speak.
VULC 2 [Usque ad quem finem verba jactabitis ?
intelligite prius, et sic loquamur.
WLC 2 עַד־ אָ֤נָה ׀ תְּשִׂימ֣וּן קִנְצֵ֣י לְמִלִּ֑ין תָּ֝בִ֗ינוּ וְאַחַ֥ר נְדַבֵּֽר׃
KJV 3 Wherefore are we counted as beasts, and reputed vile in your sight?
VULC 3 Quare reputati sumus ut jumenta,
et sorduimus coram vobis ?
WLC 3 מַ֭דּוּעַ נֶחְשַׁ֣בְנוּ כַבְּהֵמָ֑ה נִ֝טְמִ֗ינוּ בְּעֵינֵיכֶֽם׃
KJV 4 He teareth himself in his anger: shall the earth be forsaken for thee? and shall the rock be removed out of his place?
VULC 4 Qui perdis animam tuam in furore tuo,
numquid propter te derelinquetur terra,
et transferentur rupes de loco suo ?
WLC 4 טֹֽרֵ֥ף נַפְשׁ֗וֹ בְּאַ֫פּ֥וֹ הַ֭לְמַעַנְךָ תֵּעָ֣זַב אָ֑רֶץ וְיֶעְתַּק־ צ֝֗וּר מִמְּקֹמֽוֹ׃
KJV 5 Yea, the light of the wicked shall be put out, and the spark of his fire shall not shine.
VULC 5 Nonne lux impii extinguetur,
nec splendebit flamma ignis ejus ?
WLC 5 גַּ֤ם א֣וֹר רְשָׁעִ֣ים יִדְעָ֑ךְ וְלֹֽא־ יִ֝גַּ֗הּ שְׁבִ֣יב אִשּֽׁוֹ׃
KJV 6 The light shall be dark in his tabernacle, and his candle shall be put out with him.
VULC 6 Lux obtenebrescet in tabernaculo illius,
et lucerna quæ super eum est extinguetur.
WLC 6 א֭וֹר חָשַׁ֣ךְ בְּאָהֳל֑וֹ וְ֝נֵר֗וֹ עָלָ֥יו יִדְעָֽךְ׃
KJV 7 The steps of his strength shall be straitened, and his own counsel shall cast him down.
VULC 7 Arctabuntur gressus virtutis ejus,
et præcipitabit eum consilium suum.
WLC 7 יֵֽ֭צְרוּ צַעֲדֵ֣י אוֹנ֑וֹ וְֽתַשְׁלִיכֵ֥הוּ עֲצָתֽוֹ׃
KJV 8 For he is cast into a net by his own feet, and he walketh upon a snare.

et in maculis ejus ambulat.

KJV 9 The gin shall take him by the heel, and the robber shall prevail against him.

et exardescet contra eum sitis.

KJV 10 The snare is laid for him in the ground, and a trap for him in the way.

KJV 11 Terrors shall make him afraid on every side, and shall drive him to his feet.

et involvent pedes ejus.

KJV 12 His strength shall be hungerbitten, and destruction shall be ready at his side.
VULC 12 Attenuetur fame robur ejus,
et inedia invadat costas illius.

KJV 13 It shall devour the strength of his skin: even the firstborn of death shall devour his strength.
VULC 13 Devoret pulchritudinem cutis ejus ;
consumat brachia illius primogenita mors.
WLC 13 יֹ֭אכַל בַּדֵּ֣י עוֹר֑וֹ יֹאכַ֥ל בַּ֝דָּ֗יו בְּכ֣וֹר מָֽוֶת׃
KJV 14 His confidence shall be rooted out of his tabernacle, and it shall bring him to the king of terrors.
VULC 14 Avellatur de tabernaculo suo fiducia ejus,
et calcet super eum, quasi rex, interitus.
WLC 14 יִנָּתֵ֣ק מֵ֭אָהֳלוֹ מִבְטַח֑וֹ וְ֝תַצְעִדֵ֗הוּ לְמֶ֣לֶךְ בַּלָּהֽוֹת׃
KJV 15 It shall dwell in his tabernacle, because it is none of his: brimstone shall be scattered upon his habitation.
VULC 15 Habitent in tabernaculo illius socii ejus qui non est ;
aspergatur in tabernaculo ejus sulphur.
WLC 15 תִּשְׁכּ֣וֹן בְּ֭אָהֳלוֹ מִבְּלִי־ ל֑וֹ יְזֹרֶ֖ה עַל־ נָוֵ֣הוּ גָפְרִֽית׃
KJV 16 His roots shall be dried up beneath, and above shall his branch be cut off.

sursum autem atteratur messis ejus.
WLC 16 מִ֭תַּחַת שָֽׁרָשָׁ֣יו יִבָ֑שׁוּ וּ֝מִמַּ֗עַל יִמַּ֥ל קְצִירֽוֹ׃
KJV 17 His remembrance shall perish from the earth, and he shall have no name in the street.
VULC 17 Memoria illius pereat de terra,
et non celebretur nomen ejus in plateis.
WLC 17 זִֽכְרוֹ־ אָ֭בַד מִנִּי־ אָ֑רֶץ וְלֹא־ שֵׁ֥ם ל֝֗וֹ עַל־ פְּנֵי־ חֽוּץ׃
KJV 18 He shall be driven from light into darkness, and chased out of the world.
VULC 18 Expellet eum de luce in tenebras,
et de orbe transferet eum.

KJV 19 He shall neither have son nor nephew among his people, nor any remaining in his dwellings.

nec ullæ reliquiæ in regionibus ejus.

KJV 20 They that come after him shall be astonied at his day, as they that went before were affrighted.
VULC 20 In die ejus stupebunt novissimi,
et primos invadet horror.

KJV 21 Surely such are the dwellings of the wicked, and this is the place of him that knoweth not God.
VULC 21 Hæc sunt ergo tabernacula iniqui,
et iste locus ejus qui ignorat Deum.]
