KJV 1 Moreover Job continued his parable, and said,

VULC 1 Addidit quoque Job, assumens parabolam suam, et dixit :

WLC 1 וַיֹּ֣סֶף אִ֭יּוֹב שְׂאֵ֥ת מְשָׁל֗וֹ וַיֹּאמַֽר׃

KJV 2 As God liveth, who hath taken away my judgment; and the Almighty, who hath vexed my soul;

VULC 2 [Vivit Deus, qui abstulit judicium meum,
et Omnipotens, qui ad amaritudinem adduxit animam meam.

WLC 2 חַי־ אֵ֭ל הֵסִ֣יר מִשְׁפָּטִ֑י וְ֝שַׁדַּ֗י הֵמַ֥ר נַפְשִֽׁי׃

KJV 3 All the while my breath is in me, and the spirit of God is in my nostrils;

VULC 3 Quia donec superest halitus in me,
et spiritus Dei in naribus meis,

WLC 3 כִּֽי־ כָל־ ע֣וֹד נִשְׁמָתִ֣י בִ֑י וְר֖וּחַ אֱל֣וֹהַּ בְּאַפִּֽי׃

KJV 4 My lips shall not speak wickedness, nor my tongue utter deceit.

VULC 4 non loquentur labia mea iniquitatem,
nec lingua mea meditabitur mendacium.

WLC 4 אִם־ תְּדַבֵּ֣רְנָה שְׂפָתַ֣י עַוְלָ֑ה וּ֝לְשׁוֹנִ֗י אִם־ יֶהְגֶּ֥ה רְמִיָּֽה׃

KJV 5 God forbid that I should justify you: till I die I will not remove mine integrity from me.

VULC 5 Absit a me ut justos vos esse judicem :
donec deficiam, non recedam ab innocentia mea.

WLC 5 חָלִ֣ילָה לִּי֮ אִם־ אַצְדִּ֪יק אֶ֫תְכֶ֥ם עַד־ אֶגְוָ֑ע לֹא־ אָסִ֖יר תֻּמָּתִ֣י מִמֶּֽנִּי׃

KJV 6 My righteousness I hold fast, and will not let it go: my heart shall not reproach me so long as I live.

VULC 6 Justificationem meam, quam cœpi tenere, non deseram :
neque enim reprehendit me cor meum in omni vita mea.

WLC 6 בְּצִדְקָתִ֣י הֶ֭חֱזַקְתִּי וְלֹ֣א אַרְפֶּ֑הָ לֹֽא־ יֶחֱרַ֥ף לְ֝בָבִ֗י מִיָּמָֽי׃

KJV 7 Let mine enemy be as the wicked, and he that riseth up against me as the unrighteous.

VULC 7 Sit ut impius, inimicus meus,
et adversarius meus quasi iniquus.

WLC 7 יְהִ֣י כְ֭רָשָׁע אֹ֣יְבִ֑י וּמִתְקוֹמְמִ֥י כְעַוָּֽל׃

KJV 8 For what is the hope of the hypocrite, though he hath gained, when God taketh away his soul?

VULC 8 Quæ est enim spes hypocritæ, si avare rapiat,
et non liberet Deus animam ejus ?

WLC 8 כִּ֤י מַה־ תִּקְוַ֣ת חָ֭נֵף כִּ֣י יִבְצָ֑ע כִּ֤י יֵ֖שֶׁל אֱל֣וֹהַּ נַפְשֽׁוֹ׃

KJV 9 Will God hear his cry when trouble cometh upon him?

VULC 9 Numquid Deus audiet clamorem ejus,
cum venerit super eum angustia ?

WLC 9 הַֽ֭צַעֲקָתוֹ יִשְׁמַ֥ע ׀ אֵ֑ל כִּֽי־ תָב֖וֹא עָלָ֣יו צָרָֽה׃

KJV 10 Will he delight himself in the Almighty? will he always call upon God?

VULC 10 aut poterit in Omnipotente delectari,
et invocare Deum omni tempore ?

WLC 10 אִם־ עַל־ שַׁדַּ֥י יִתְעַנָּ֑ג יִקְרָ֖א אֱל֣וֹהַּ בְּכָל־ עֵֽת׃

KJV 11 I will teach you by the hand of God: that which is with the Almighty will I not conceal.

VULC 11 Docebo vos per manum Dei quæ Omnipotens habeat,
nec abscondam.

WLC 11 אוֹרֶ֣ה אֶתְכֶ֣ם בְּיַד־ אֵ֑ל אֲשֶׁ֥ר עִם־ שַׁ֝דַּ֗י לֹ֣א אֲכַחֵֽד׃

KJV 12 Behold, all ye yourselves have seen it; why then are ye thus altogether vain?

VULC 12 Ecce vos omnes nostis :
et quid sine causa vana loquimini ?

WLC 12 הֵן־ אַתֶּ֣ם כֻּלְּכֶ֣ם חֲזִיתֶ֑ם וְלָמָּה־ זֶּ֝֗ה הֶ֣בֶל תֶּהְבָּֽלוּ׃

KJV 13 This is the portion of a wicked man with God, and the heritage of oppressors, which they shall receive of the Almighty.

VULC 13 Hæc est pars hominis impii apud Deum,
et hæreditas violentorum, quam ob Omnipotente suscipient.

WLC 13 זֶ֤ה ׀ חֵֽלֶק־ אָדָ֖ם רָשָׁ֥ע ׀ עִם־ אֵ֑ל וְֽנַחֲלַ֥ת עָ֝רִיצִ֗ים מִשַּׁדַּ֥י יִקָּֽחוּ׃

KJV 14 If his children be multiplied, it is for the sword: and his offspring shall not be satisfied with bread.

VULC 14 Si multiplicati fuerint filii ejus, in gladio erunt,
et nepotes ejus non saturabuntur pane :

WLC 14 אִם־ יִרְבּ֣וּ בָנָ֣יו לְמוֹ־ חָ֑רֶב וְ֝צֶאֱצָאָ֗יו לֹ֣א יִשְׂבְּעוּ־ לָֽחֶם׃

KJV 15 Those that remain of him shall be buried in death: and his widows shall not weep.

VULC 15 qui reliqui fuerint ex eo sepelientur in interitu,
et viduæ illius non plorabunt.

WLC 15 בַּמָּ֣וֶת יִקָּבֵ֑רוּ וְ֝אַלְמְנֹתָ֗יו לֹ֣א תִבְכֶּֽינָה׃

KJV 16 Though he heap up silver as the dust, and prepare raiment as the clay;

VULC 16 Si comportaverit quasi terram argentum,
et sicut lutum præparaverit vestimenta :

WLC 16 אִם־ יִצְבֹּ֣ר כֶּעָפָ֣ר כָּ֑סֶף וְ֝כַחֹ֗מֶר יָכִ֥ין מַלְבּֽוּשׁ׃

KJV 17 He may prepare it, but the just shall put it on, and the innocent shall divide the silver.

VULC 17 præparabit quidem, sed justus vestietur illis,
et argentum innocens dividet.

WLC 17 יָ֭כִין וְצַדִּ֣יק יִלְבָּ֑שׁ וְ֝כֶ֗סֶף נָקִ֥י יַחֲלֹֽק׃

KJV 18 He buildeth his house as a moth, and as a booth that the keeper maketh.

VULC 18 Ædificavit sicut tinea domum suam,
et sicut custos fecit umbraculum.

WLC 18 בָּנָ֣ה כָעָ֣שׁ בֵּית֑וֹ וּ֝כְסֻכָּ֗ה עָשָׂ֥ה נֹצֵֽר׃

KJV 19 The rich man shall lie down, but he shall not be gathered: he openeth his eyes, and he is not.

VULC 19 Dives, cum dormierit, nihil secum auferet :
aperiet oculos suos, et nihil inveniet.

WLC 19 עָשִׁ֣יר יִ֭שְׁכַּב וְלֹ֣א יֵאָסֵ֑ף עֵינָ֖יו פָּקַ֣ח וְאֵינֶֽנּוּ׃

KJV 20 Terrors take hold on him as waters, a tempest stealeth him away in the night.

VULC 20 Apprehendet eum quasi aqua inopia :
nocte opprimet eum tempestas.

WLC 20 תַּשִּׂיגֵ֣הוּ כַ֭מַּיִם בַּלָּה֑וֹת לַ֝֗יְלָה גְּנָבַ֥תּוּ סוּפָֽה׃

KJV 21 The east wind carrieth him away, and he departeth: and as a storm hurleth him out of his place.

VULC 21 Tollet eum ventus urens, et auferet,
et velut turbo rapiet eum de loco suo.

WLC 21 יִשָּׂאֵ֣הוּ קָדִ֣ים וְיֵלַ֑ךְ וִֽ֝ישָׂעֲרֵ֗הוּ מִמְּקֹמֽוֹ׃

KJV 22 For God shall cast upon him, and not spare: he would fain flee out of his hand.

VULC 22 Et mittet super eum, et non parcet :
de manu ejus fugiens fugiet.

WLC 22 וְיַשְׁלֵ֣ךְ עָ֭לָיו וְלֹ֣א יַחְמֹ֑ל מִ֝יָּד֗וֹ בָּר֥וֹחַ יִבְרָֽח׃

KJV 23 Men shall clap their hands at him, and shall hiss him out of his place.

VULC 23 Stringet super eum manus suas,
et sibilabit super illum, intuens locum ejus.]

WLC 23 יִשְׂפֹּ֣ק עָלֵ֣ימוֹ כַפֵּ֑ימוֹ וְיִשְׁרֹ֥ק עָ֝לָ֗יו מִמְּקֹמֽוֹ׃
