Job 32

KJV 1 So these three men ceased to answer Job, because he was righteous in his own eyes.

VULC 1 Omiserunt autem tres viri isti respondere Job, eo quod justus sibi videretur.

WLC 1 וַֽיִּשְׁבְּת֡וּ שְׁלֹ֤שֶׁת הָאֲנָשִׁ֣ים הָ֭אֵלֶּה מֵעֲנ֣וֹת אֶת־ אִיּ֑וֹב כִּ֤י ה֖וּא צַדִּ֣יק בְּעֵינָֽיו׃

KJV 2 Then was kindled the wrath of Elihu the son of Barachel the Buzite, of the kindred of Ram: against Job was his wrath kindled, because he justified himself rather than God.

VULC 2 Et iratus indignatusque est Eliu filius Barachel Buzites, de cognatione Ram : iratus est autem adversum Job, eo quod justum se esse diceret coram Deo.

WLC 2 וַיִּ֤חַר אַ֨ף ׀ אֱלִיה֣וּא בֶן־ בַּרַכְאֵ֣ל הַבּוּזִי֮ מִמִּשְׁפַּ֪חַ֫ת רָ֥ם בְּ֭אִיּוֹב חָרָ֣ה אַפּ֑וֹ עַֽל־ צַדְּק֥וֹ נַ֝פְשׁ֗וֹ מֵאֱלֹהִֽים׃

KJV 3 Also against his three friends was his wrath kindled, because they had found no answer, and yet had condemned Job.

VULC 3 Porro adversum amicos ejus indignatus est, eo quod non invenissent responsionem rationabilem, sed tantummodo condemnassent Job.

WLC 3 וּבִשְׁלֹ֣שֶׁת רֵעָיו֮ חָרָ֪ה אַ֫פּ֥וֹ עַ֤ל אֲשֶׁ֣ר לֹא־ מָצְא֣וּ מַעֲנֶ֑ה וַ֝יַּרְשִׁ֗יעוּ אֶת־ אִיּֽוֹב׃

KJV 4 Now Elihu had waited till Job had spoken, because they were elder than he.

VULC 4 Igitur Eliu expectavit Job loquentem, eo quod seniores essent qui loquebantur.

WLC 4 וֶֽאֱלִיה֗וּ חִכָּ֣ה אֶת־ אִ֭יּוֹב בִּדְבָרִ֑ים כִּ֤י זְֽקֵנִים־ הֵ֖מָּה מִמֶּ֣נּוּ לְיָמִֽים׃

KJV 5 When Elihu saw that there was no answer in the mouth of these three men, then his wrath was kindled.

VULC 5 Cum autem vidisset quod tres respondere non potuissent, iratus est vehementer.

WLC 5 וַיַּ֤רְא אֱלִיה֗וּא כִּ֘י אֵ֤ין מַעֲנֶ֗ה בְּ֭פִי שְׁלֹ֥שֶׁת הָאֲנָשִׁ֗ים וַיִּ֥חַר אַפּֽוֹ׃

KJV 6 And Elihu the son of Barachel the Buzite answered and said, I am young, and ye are very old; wherefore I was afraid, and durst not shew you mine opinion.

VULC 6 Respondensque Eliu filius Barachel Buzites, dixit : [Junior sum tempore, vos autem antiquiores :
idcirco, demisso capite,
veritus sum vobis indicare meam sententiam.

WLC 6 וַיַּ֤עַן ׀ אֱלִיה֖וּא בֶן־ בַּֽרַכְאֵ֥ל הַבּוּזִ֗י וַיֹּ֫אמַ֥ר צָ֘עִ֤יר אֲנִ֣י לְ֭יָמִים וְאַתֶּ֣ם יְשִׁישִׁ֑ים עַל־ כֵּ֖ן זָחַ֥לְתִּי וָֽאִירָ֓א ׀ מֵחַוֺּ֖ת דֵּעִ֣י אֶתְכֶֽם׃

KJV 7 I said, Days should speak, and multitude of years should teach wisdom.

VULC 7 Sperabam enim quod ætas prolixior loqueretur,
et annorum multitudo doceret sapientiam.

WLC 7 אָ֭מַרְתִּי יָמִ֣ים יְדַבֵּ֑רוּ וְרֹ֥ב שָׁ֝נִ֗ים יֹדִ֥יעוּ חָכְמָֽה׃

KJV 8 But there is a spirit in man: and the inspiration of the Almighty giveth them understanding.

VULC 8 Sed, ut video, spiritus est in hominibus,
et inspiratio Omnipotentis dat intelligentiam.

WLC 8 אָ֭כֵן רֽוּחַ־ הִ֣יא בֶאֱנ֑וֹשׁ וְנִשְׁמַ֖ת שַׁדַּ֣י תְּבִינֵֽם׃

KJV 9 Great men are not always wise: neither do the aged understand judgment.

VULC 9 Non sunt longævi sapientes,
nec senes intelligunt judicium.

WLC 9 לֹֽא־ רַבִּ֥ים יֶחְכָּ֑מוּ וּ֝זְקֵנִ֗ים יָבִ֥ינוּ מִשְׁפָּֽט׃

KJV 10 Therefore I said, Hearken to me; I also will shew mine opinion.

VULC 10 Ideo dicam : Audite me :
ostendam vobis etiam ego meam sapientiam.

WLC 10 לָכֵ֣ן אָ֭מַרְתִּי שִׁמְעָה־ לִּ֑י אֲחַוֶּ֖ה דֵּעִ֣י אַף־ אָֽנִי׃

KJV 11 Behold, I waited for your words; I gave ear to your reasons, whilst ye searched out what to say.

VULC 11 Expectavi enim sermones vestros ;
audivi prudentiam vestram,
donec disceptaremini sermonibus ;

WLC 11 הֵ֤ן הוֹחַ֨לְתִּי לְֽדִבְרֵיכֶ֗ם אָ֭זִין עַד־ תְּב֥וּנֹֽתֵיכֶ֑ם עַֽד־ תַּחְקְר֥וּן מִלִּֽין׃

KJV 12 Yea, I attended unto you, and, behold, there was none of you that convinced Job, or that answered his words:

VULC 12 et donec putabam vos aliquid dicere, considerabam :
sed, ut video, non est qui possit arguere Job,
et respondere ex vobis sermonibus ejus.

WLC 12 וְעָֽדֵיכֶ֗ם אֶתְבּ֫וֹנָ֥ן וְהִנֵּ֤ה אֵ֣ין לְאִיּ֣וֹב מוֹכִ֑יחַ עוֹנֶ֖ה אֲמָרָ֣יו מִכֶּֽם׃

KJV 13 Lest ye should say, We have found out wisdom: God thrusteth him down, not man.

VULC 13 Ne forte dicatis : Invenimus sapientiam :
Deus projecit eum, non homo.

WLC 13 פֶּן־ תֹּ֣֭אמְרוּ מָצָ֣אנוּ חָכְמָ֑ה אֵ֖ל יִדְּפֶ֣נּוּ לֹא־ אִֽישׁ׃

KJV 14 Now he hath not directed his words against me: neither will I answer him with your speeches.

VULC 14 Nihil locutus est mihi :
et ego non secundum sermones vestros respondebo illi.

WLC 14 וְלֹא־ עָרַ֣ךְ אֵלַ֣י מִלִּ֑ין וּ֝בְאִמְרֵיכֶ֗ם לֹ֣א אֲשִׁיבֶֽנּוּ׃

KJV 15 They were amazed, they answered no more: they left off speaking.

VULC 15 Extimuerunt, nec responderunt ultra,
abstuleruntque a se eloquia.

WLC 15 חַ֭תּוּ לֹא־ עָ֣נוּ ע֑וֹד הֶעְתִּ֖יקוּ מֵהֶ֣ם מִלִּֽים׃

KJV 16 When I had waited, (for they spake not, but stood still, and answered no more;)

VULC 16 Quoniam igitur expectavi, et non sunt locuti :
steterunt, nec ultra responderunt :

WLC 16 וְ֭הוֹחַלְתִּי כִּי־ לֹ֣א יְדַבֵּ֑רוּ כִּ֥י עָ֝מְד֗וּ לֹא־ עָ֥נוּ עֽוֹד׃

KJV 17 I said, I will answer also my part, I also will shew mine opinion.

VULC 17 respondebo et ego partem meam,
et ostendam scientiam meam.

WLC 17 אַעֲנֶ֣ה אַף־ אֲנִ֣י חֶלְקִ֑י אֲחַוֶּ֖ה דֵעִ֣י אַף־ אָֽנִי׃

KJV 18 For I am full of matter, the spirit within me constraineth me.

VULC 18 Plenus sum enim sermonibus,
et coarctat me spiritus uteri mei.

WLC 18 כִּ֭י מָלֵ֣תִי מִלִּ֑ים הֱ֝צִיקַ֗תְנִי ר֣וּחַ בִּטְנִֽי׃

KJV 19 Behold, my belly is as wine which hath no vent; it is ready to burst like new bottles.

VULC 19 En venter meus quasi mustum absque spiraculo,
quod lagunculas novas disrumpit.

WLC 19 הִנֵּֽה־ בִטְנִ֗י כְּיַ֥יִן לֹא־ יִפָּתֵ֑חַ כְּאֹב֥וֹת חֲ֝דָשִׁ֗ים יִבָּקֵֽעַ׃

KJV 20 I will speak, that I may be refreshed: I will open my lips and answer.

VULC 20 Loquar, et respirabo paululum :
aperiam labia mea, et respondebo.

WLC 20 אֲדַבְּרָ֥ה וְיִֽרְוַֽח־ לִ֑י אֶפְתַּ֖ח שְׂפָתַ֣י וְאֶֽעֱנֶֽה׃

KJV 21 Let me not, I pray you, accept any man's person, neither let me give flattering titles unto man.

VULC 21 Non accipiam personam viri,
et Deum homini non æquabo.

WLC 21 אַל־ נָ֭א אֶשָּׂ֣א פְנֵי־ אִ֑ישׁ וְאֶל־ אָ֝דָ֗ם לֹ֣א אֲכַנֶּֽה׃

KJV 22 For I know not to give flattering titles; in so doing my maker would soon take me away.

VULC 22 Nescio enim quamdiu subsistam,
et si post modicum tollat me factor meus.]

WLC 22 כִּ֤י לֹ֣א יָדַ֣עְתִּי אֲכַנֶּ֑ה כִּ֝מְעַ֗ט יִשָּׂאֵ֥נִי עֹשֵֽׂנִי׃
