KJV ² For I give you good doctrine, forsake ye not my law.

BCC ³ Moi aussi j'ai été un fils pour mon père ; un fils tendre et unique auprès de ma mère.

KJV ³ For I was my father's son, tender and only beloved in the sight of my mother.

BCC ⁴ Il m'instruisait et il me disait : "que ton coeur retienne mes paroles, observe mes préceptes, et tu vivras.

KJV ⁴ He taught me also, and said unto me, Let thine heart retain my words: keep my commandments, and live.

BCC ⁵ Acquiers la sagesse, acquiers l'intelligence ; n'oublie pas les paroles de ma bouche, et ne t'en détourne pas.

KJV ⁵ Get wisdom, get understanding: forget it not; neither decline from the words of my mouth.

BCC ⁶ Ne l'abandonne pas, et elle te gardera ; aime-la, et elle te conservera.

KJV ⁶ Forsake her not, and she shall preserve thee: love her, and she shall keep thee.

BCC ⁷ Voici le commencement de la sagesse : acquiers la sagesse ; au prix de tout ce que tu possèdes, acquiers l'intelligence.

KJV ⁷ Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.

BCC ⁸ Tiens-la en haute estime, et elle t'exaltera ; elle fera ta gloire, si tu l'embrasses.

KJV ⁸ Exalt her, and she shall promote thee: she shall bring thee to honour, when thou dost embrace her.

BCC ⁹ Elle mettra sur ta tête une couronne de grâce, elle t'ornera d'un magnifique diadème."

KJV ⁹ She shall give to thine head an ornament of grace: a crown of glory shall she deliver to thee.

BCC ¹⁰ Écoute, mon fils, et reçois mes paroles, et les années de ta vie se multiplieront.

KJV ¹⁰ Hear, O my son, and receive my sayings; and the years of thy life shall be many.

BCC ¹¹ Je t'enseigne la voie de la sagesse, je te conduis dans les sentiers de la droiture.

KJV ¹¹ I have taught thee in the way of wisdom; I have led thee in right paths.

BCC ¹² Si tu marches, tes pas ne seront point à l'étroit, et si tu cours, tu ne trébucheras pas.

KJV ¹² When thou goest, thy steps shall not be straitened; and when thou runnest, thou shalt not stumble.

BCC ¹³ Retiens l'instruction, ne l'abandonne pas ; garde-la, car elle est ta vie.

KJV ¹³ Take fast hold of instruction; let her not go: keep her; for she is thy life.

BCC ¹⁴ N'entre pas dans le sentier des méchants, et ne marche pas dans la voie des hommes mauvais.

KJV ¹⁴ Enter not into the path of the wicked, and go not in the way of evil men.

BCC ¹⁵ Evite-la, n'y passe point, détourne-t'en et passe.

KJV ¹⁵ Avoid it, pass not by it, turn from it, and pass away.

BCC ¹⁶ Car ils ne dorment pas, s'ils ne font le mal ; leur sommeil s'enfuit s'ils ne font tomber personne.

KJV ¹⁶ For they sleep not, except they have done mischief; and their sleep is taken away, unless they cause some to fall.

BCC ¹⁷ Car ils mangent le pain du crime, ils boivent le vin de la violence.

KJV ¹⁷ For they eat the bread of wickedness, and drink the wine of violence.

BCC ¹⁸ Le sentier des justes est comme la brillante lumière du matin, dont l'éclat va croissant jusqu'à ce que paraisse le jour.

KJV ¹⁸ But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.

BCC ¹⁹ La voie des méchants est comme les ténèbres ; ils n'aperçoivent pas ce qui les fera tomber.

KJV ¹⁹ The way of the wicked is as darkness: they know not at what they stumble.

BCC ²⁰ Mon fils, sois attentif à mes paroles, prête l'oreille à mes discours.

KJV ²⁰ My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings.

BCC ²¹ Qu'ils ne s'éloignent pas de tes yeux ; garde-les au milieu de ton coeur.

KJV ²¹ Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart.

BCC ²² Car ils sont vie pour ceux qui les trouvent, santé pour tout leur corps.

KJV ²² For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.

BCC ²³ Garde ton coeur avant toute chose, car de lui jaillissent les sources de la vie.

KJV ²³ Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.

BCC ²⁴ Écarte de ta bouche les paroles tortueuses ; et éloigne de tes lèvres la fausseté.

KJV ²⁴ Put away from thee a froward mouth, and perverse lips put far from thee.

BCC ²⁵ Que tes yeux regardent en face, et que tes paupières se dirigent devant toi.

KJV ²⁵ Let thine eyes look right on, and let thine eyelids look straight before thee.

BCC ²⁶ Fais à tes pieds un chemin uni, et que toutes tes voies soient droites.

KJV ²⁶ Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be established.

BCC ²⁷ N'incline ni à droite ni à gauche, et détourne ton pied du mal.

KJV ²⁷ Turn not to the right hand nor to the left: remove thy foot from evil.
