DRB ² Garde mes commandements, et tu vivras, - et mon enseignement, comme la prunelle de tes yeux.

KJV ² Keep my commandments, and live; and my law as the apple of thine eye.

VULC ² serva mandata mea, et vives ;
et legem meam quasi pupillam oculi tui :

WLC ² שְׁמֹ֣ר מִצְוֺתַ֣י וֶחְיֵ֑ה וְ֝תוֹרָתִ֗י כְּאִישׁ֥וֹן עֵינֶֽיךָ׃

DRB ³ Lie-les sur tes doigts, écris-les sur la tablette de ton cœur.

KJV ³ Bind them upon thy fingers, write them upon the table of thine heart.

VULC ³ liga eam in digitis tuis,
scribe illam in tabulis cordis tui.

WLC ³ קָשְׁרֵ֥ם עַל־ אֶצְבְּעֹתֶ֑יךָ כָּ֝תְבֵ֗ם עַל־ ל֥וּחַ לִבֶּֽךָ׃

DRB ⁴ Dis à la sagesse : tu es ma sœur ! et appelle l'intelligence ton amie ;

KJV ⁴ Say unto wisdom, Thou art my sister; and call understanding thy kinswoman:

VULC ⁴ Dic sapientiæ : Soror mea es,
et prudentiam voca amicam tuam :

WLC ⁴ אֱמֹ֣ר לַֽ֭חָכְמָה אֲחֹ֣תִי אָ֑תְּ וּ֝מֹדָ֗ע לַבִּינָ֥ה תִקְרָֽא׃

DRB ⁵ pour te garder de la femme étrangère, de la foraine qui use de paroles flatteuses.

KJV ⁵ That they may keep thee from the strange woman, from the stranger which flattereth with her words.

VULC ⁵ ut custodiant te a muliere extranea,
et ab aliena quæ verba sua dulcia facit.

WLC ⁵ לִ֭שְׁמָרְךָ מֵאִשָּׁ֣ה זָרָ֑ה מִ֝נָּכְרִיָּ֗ה אֲמָרֶ֥יהָ הֶחֱלִֽיקָה׃

DRB ⁶ Car, à la fenêtre de ma maison, je regardais à travers mon treillis,

KJV ⁶ For at the window of my house I looked through my casement,

per cancellos prospexi,

WLC ⁶ כִּ֭י בְּחַלּ֣וֹן בֵּיתִ֑י בְּעַ֖ד אֶשְׁנַבִּ֣י נִשְׁקָֽפְתִּי׃

DRB ⁷ et je vis parmi les simples, j'aperçus parmi les jeunes gens*, un jeune homme dépourvu de sens,

KJV ⁷ And beheld among the simple ones, I discerned among the youths, a young man void of understanding,

considero vecordem juvenem,

WLC ⁷ וָאֵ֤רֶא בַפְּתָאיִ֗ם אָ֘בִ֤ינָה בַבָּנִ֗ים נַ֣עַר חֲסַר־ לֵֽב׃

DRB ⁸ qui passait dans la rue, près du coin où demeurait cette femme*, et il prit le chemin de sa maison,

KJV ⁸ Passing through the street near her corner; and he went the way to her house,

VULC ⁸ qui transit per plateam juxta angulum
et prope viam domus illius graditur :

WLC ⁸ עֹבֵ֣ר בַּ֭שּׁוּק אֵ֣צֶל פִּנָּ֑הּ וְדֶ֖רֶךְ בֵּיתָ֣הּ יִצְעָֽד׃

DRB ⁹ au crépuscule, au soir du jour, au sein de la nuit et de l'obscurité.

KJV ⁹ In the twilight, in the evening, in the black and dark night:

VULC ⁹ in obscuro, advesperascente die,
in noctis tenebris et caligine.

WLC ⁹ בְּנֶֽשֶׁף־ בְּעֶ֥רֶב י֑וֹם בְּאִישׁ֥וֹן לַ֝֗יְלָה וַאֲפֵלָֽה׃

DRB ¹⁰ Et voici, une femme [vint] à sa rencontre, ayant la mise d'une prostituée et le cœur rusé.

KJV ¹⁰ And, behold, there met him a woman with the attire of an harlot, and subtil of heart.

VULC ¹⁰ Et ecce occurrit illi mulier ornatu meretricio,
præparata ad capiendas animas :
garrula et vaga,

WLC ¹⁰ וְהִנֵּ֣ה אִ֭שָּׁה לִקְרָאת֑וֹ שִׁ֥ית ז֝וֹנָ֗ה וּנְצֻ֥רַת לֵֽב׃

DRB ¹¹ Elle était bruyante et sans frein ; ses pieds ne demeuraient pas dans sa maison,

KJV ¹¹ (She is loud and stubborn; her feet abide not in her house:

VULC ¹¹ quietis impatiens,
nec valens in domo consistere pedibus suis ;

WLC ¹¹ הֹמִיָּ֣ה הִ֣יא וְסֹרָ֑רֶת בְּ֝בֵיתָ֗הּ לֹא־ יִשְׁכְּנ֥וּ רַגְלֶֽיהָ׃

DRB ¹² elle était tantôt dehors, tantôt sur les places, et guettait à tous les coins.

KJV ¹² Now is she without, now in the streets, and lieth in wait at every corner.)

DRB ¹⁴ J'ai chez moi des sacrifices de prospérités, j'ai aujourd'hui payé mes vœux ;

KJV ¹⁴ I have peace offerings with me; this day have I payed my vows.

WLC ¹⁴ זִבְחֵ֣י שְׁלָמִ֣ים עָלָ֑י הַ֝יּ֗וֹם שִׁלַּ֥מְתִּי נְדָרָֽי׃

DRB ¹⁵ c'est pourquoi je suis sortie à ta rencontre pour chercher ton visage, et je t'ai trouvé.

KJV ¹⁵ Therefore came I forth to meet thee, diligently to seek thy face, and I have found thee.

VULC ¹⁵ idcirco egressa sum in occursum tuum,
desiderans te videre, et reperi.

WLC ¹⁵ עַל־ כֵּ֭ן יָצָ֣אתִי לִקְרָאתֶ֑ךָ לְשַׁחֵ֥ר פָּ֝נֶ֗יךָ וָאֶמְצָאֶֽךָּ׃

DRB ¹⁶ J'ai étendu sur mon lit des tapis, des couvertures de fil d'Égypte de couleurs variées ;

KJV ¹⁶ I have decked my bed with coverings of tapestry, with carved works, with fine linen of Egypt.

VULC ¹⁶ Intexui funibus lectulum meum ;
stravi tapetibus pictis ex Ægypto :

WLC ¹⁶ מַ֭רְבַדִּים רָבַ֣דְתִּי עַרְשִׂ֑י חֲ֝טֻב֗וֹת אֵט֥וּן מִצְרָֽיִם׃

DRB ¹⁷ j'ai parfumé ma couche de myrrhe, d'aloès, et de cinnamome.

KJV ¹⁷ I have perfumed my bed with myrrh, aloes, and cinnamon.

VULC ¹⁷ aspersi cubile meum myrrha,
et aloë, et cinnamomo.

WLC ¹⁷ נַ֥פְתִּי מִשְׁכָּבִ֑י מֹ֥ר אֲ֝הָלִ֗ים וְקִנָּמֽוֹן׃

DRB ¹⁸ Viens, enivrons-nous d'amours jusqu'au matin, délectons-nous de volupté ;

KJV ¹⁸ Come, let us take our fill of love until the morning: let us solace ourselves with loves.

VULC ¹⁸ Veni, inebriemur uberibus,
et fruamur cupitis amplexibus donec illucescat dies.

WLC ¹⁸ לְכָ֤ה נִרְוֶ֣ה דֹ֭דִים עַד־ הַבֹּ֑קֶר נִ֝תְעַלְּסָ֗ה בָּאֳהָבִֽים׃

DRB ¹⁹ car [mon] mari n'est pas à la maison, il s'en est allé loin en voyage ;

KJV ¹⁹ For the goodman is not at home, he is gone a long journey:

abiit via longissima :

WLC ¹⁹ כִּ֤י אֵ֣ין הָאִ֣ישׁ בְּבֵית֑וֹ הָ֝לַ֗ךְ בְּדֶ֣רֶךְ מֵרָחֽוֹק׃

DRB ²⁰ il a pris un sac d'argent en sa main, il viendra à sa maison au jour de la pleine lune.

KJV ²⁰ He hath taken a bag of money with him, and will come home at the day appointed.

VULC ²⁰ sacculum pecuniæ secum tulit ;
in die plenæ lunæ reversurus est in domum suam.

WLC ²⁰ צְֽרוֹר־ הַ֭כֶּסֶף לָקַ֣ח בְּיָד֑וֹ לְי֥וֹם הַ֝כֵּ֗סֶא יָבֹ֥א בֵיתֽוֹ׃

DRB ²¹ Elle le détourna par beaucoup de douces paroles, elle l'entraîna par la flatterie de ses lèvres.

KJV ²¹ With her much fair speech she caused him to yield, with the flattering of her lips she forced him.

VULC ²¹ Irretivit eum multis sermonibus,
et blanditiis labiorum protraxit illum.

WLC ²¹ הִ֭טַּתּוּ בְּרֹ֣ב לִקְחָ֑הּ בְּחֵ֥לֶק שְׂ֝פָתֶ֗יהָ תַּדִּיחֶֽנּוּ׃

DRB ²² Il est allé aussitôt après elle, comme le bœuf va à la boucherie, et comme les ceps [servent à] l'instruction du fou*,

KJV ²² He goeth after her straightway, as an ox goeth to the slaughter, or as a fool to the correction of the stocks;

VULC ²² Statim eam sequitur quasi bos ductus ad victimam,
et quasi agnus lasciviens,
et ignorans quod ad vincula stultus trahatur :

WLC ²² ה֤וֹלֵ֥ךְ אַחֲרֶ֗יהָ פִּ֫תְאֹ֥ם כְּ֭שׁוֹר אֶל־ טָ֣בַח יָב֑וֹא וּ֝כְעֶ֗כֶס אֶל־ מוּסַ֥ר אֱוִֽיל׃

DRB ²³ jusqu'à ce que la flèche lui transperce le foie ; comme l'oiseau se hâte vers le piège et ne sait pas qu'il y va de sa vie.

KJV ²³ Till a dart strike through his liver; as a bird hasteth to the snare, and knoweth not that it is for his life.

VULC ²³ donec transfigat sagitta jecur ejus,
velut si avis festinet ad laqueum,
et nescit quod de periculo animæ illius agitur.

WLC ²³ עַ֤ד יְפַלַּ֪ח חֵ֡ץ כְּֽבֵד֗וֹ כְּמַהֵ֣ר צִפּ֣וֹר אֶל־ פָּ֑ח וְלֹֽא־ יָ֝דַ֗ע כִּֽי־ בְנַפְשׁ֥וֹ הֽוּא׃

DRB ²⁴ Maintenant donc, fils, écoutez-moi, et soyez attentifs aux paroles de ma bouche.

KJV ²⁴ Hearken unto me now therefore, O ye children, and attend to the words of my mouth.

VULC ²⁴ Nunc ergo, fili mi, audi me,
et attende verbis oris mei.

WLC ²⁴ וְעַתָּ֣ה בָ֭נִים שִׁמְעוּ־ לִ֑י וְ֝הַקְשִׁ֗יבוּ לְאִמְרֵי־ פִֽי׃

DRB ²⁵ Que ton cœur ne se détourne pas vers ses voies, et ne t'égare pas dans ses sentiers ;

KJV ²⁵ Let not thine heart decline to her ways, go not astray in her paths.

VULC ²⁵ Ne abstrahatur in viis illius mens tua,
neque decipiaris semitis ejus ;

WLC ²⁵ אַל־ יֵ֣שְׂטְ אֶל־ דְּרָכֶ֣יהָ לִבֶּ֑ךָ אַל־ תֵּ֝תַע בִּנְתִיבוֹתֶֽיהָ׃

DRB ²⁶ car elle a fait tomber beaucoup de blessés, et ceux qu'elle a tués sont très nombreux*.

KJV ²⁶ For she hath cast down many wounded: yea, many strong men have been slain by her.

VULC ²⁶ multos enim vulneratos dejecit,
et fortissimi quique interfecti sunt ab ea.

WLC ²⁶ כִּֽי־ רַבִּ֣ים חֲלָלִ֣ים הִפִּ֑ילָה וַ֝עֲצֻמִ֗ים כָּל־ הֲרֻגֶֽיהָ׃

DRB ²⁷ Ce sont les voies du shéol que sa maison ; elles descendent dans les chambres de la mort.

KJV ²⁷ Her house is the way to hell, going down to the chambers of death.

VULC ²⁷ Viæ inferi domus ejus,
penetrantes in interiora mortis.]

WLC ²⁷ דַּרְכֵ֣י שְׁא֣וֹל בֵּיתָ֑הּ יֹ֝רְד֗וֹת אֶל־ חַדְרֵי־ מָֽוֶת׃
