WLC 1 הֲלֹֽא־ חָכְמָ֥ה תִקְרָ֑א וּ֝תְבוּנָ֗ה תִּתֵּ֥ן קוֹלָֽהּ׃
KJV 2 She standeth in the top of high places, by the way in the places of the paths.
VULC 2 In summis excelsisque verticibus supra viam,
in mediis semitis stans,
WLC 2 בְּרֹאשׁ־ מְרוֹמִ֥ים עֲלֵי־ דָ֑רֶךְ בֵּ֖ית נְתִיב֣וֹת נִצָּֽבָה׃
KJV 3 She crieth at the gates, at the entry of the city, at the coming in at the doors.
VULC 3 juxta portas civitatis,
in ipsis foribus loquitur, dicens :
WLC 3 לְיַד־ שְׁעָרִ֥ים לְפִי־ קָ֑רֶת מְב֖וֹא פְתָחִ֣ים תָּרֹֽנָּה׃
KJV 4 Unto you, O men, I call; and my voice is to the sons of man.
VULC 4 O viri, ad vos clamito,
et vox mea ad filios hominum.
WLC 4 אֲלֵיכֶ֣ם אִישִׁ֣ים אֶקְרָ֑א וְ֝קוֹלִ֗י אֶל־ בְּנֵ֥י אָדָֽם׃
KJV 5 O ye simple, understand wisdom: and, ye fools, be ye of an understanding heart.
VULC 5 Intelligite, parvuli, astutiam,
et insipientes, animadvertite.
WLC 5 הָבִ֣ינוּ פְתָאיִ֣ם עָרְמָ֑ה וּ֝כְסִילִ֗ים הָבִ֥ינוּ לֵֽב׃
KJV 6 Hear; for I will speak of excellent things; and the opening of my lips shall be right things.
VULC 6 Audite, quoniam de rebus magnis locutura sum,
et aperientur labia mea ut recta prædicent.
WLC 6 שִׁ֭מְעוּ כִּֽי־ נְגִידִ֣ים אֲדַבֵּ֑ר וּמִפְתַּ֥ח שְׂ֝פָתַ֗י מֵישָׁרִֽים׃
KJV 7 For my mouth shall speak truth; and wickedness is an abomination to my lips.
VULC 7 Veritatem meditabitur guttur meum,
et labia mea detestabuntur impium.
WLC 7 כִּֽי־ אֱ֭מֶת יֶהְגֶּ֣ה חִכִּ֑י וְתוֹעֲבַ֖ת שְׂפָתַ֣י רֶֽשַׁע׃
KJV 8 All the words of my mouth are in righteousness; there is nothing froward or perverse in them.
VULC 8 Justi sunt omnes sermones mei :
non est in eis pravum quid, neque perversum ;
WLC 8 בְּצֶ֥דֶק כָּל־ אִמְרֵי־ פִ֑י אֵ֥ין בָּ֝הֶ֗ם נִפְתָּ֥ל וְעִקֵּֽשׁ׃
KJV 9 They are all plain to him that understandeth, and right to them that find knowledge.
VULC 9 recti sunt intelligentibus,
et æqui invenientibus scientiam.
WLC 9 כֻּלָּ֣ם נְ֭כֹחִים לַמֵּבִ֑ין וִֽ֝ישָׁרִ֗ים לְמֹ֣צְאֵי דָֽעַת׃
KJV 10 Receive my instruction, and not silver; and knowledge rather than choice gold.
VULC 10 Accipite disciplinam meam, et non pecuniam ;
doctrinam magis quam aurum eligite :
WLC 10 קְחֽוּ־ מוּסָרִ֥י וְאַל־ כָּ֑סֶף וְ֝דַ֗עַת מֵחָר֥וּץ נִבְחָֽר׃
KJV 11 For wisdom is better than rubies; and all the things that may be desired are not to be compared to it.
VULC 11 melior est enim sapientia cunctis pretiosissimis,
et omne desiderabile ei non potest comparari.]
WLC 11 כִּֽי־ טוֹבָ֣ה חָ֭כְמָה מִפְּנִינִ֑ים וְכָל־ חֲ֝פָצִ֗ים לֹ֣א יִֽשְׁווּ־ בָֽהּ׃
KJV 12 I wisdom dwell with prudence, and find out knowledge of witty inventions.
VULC 12 [Ego sapientia, habito in consilio,
et eruditis intersum cogitationibus.
WLC 12 אֲֽנִי־ חָ֭כְמָה שָׁכַ֣נְתִּי עָרְמָ֑ה וְדַ֖עַת מְזִמּ֣וֹת אֶמְצָֽא׃
KJV 13 The fear of the LORD is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate.
VULC 13 Timor Domini odit malum :
arrogantiam, et superbiam,
et viam pravam, et os bilingue, detestor.
WLC 13 יִֽרְאַ֣ת יְהוָה֮ שְֽׂנֹ֫את רָ֥ע גֵּ֘אָ֤ה וְגָא֨וֹן ׀ וְדֶ֣רֶךְ רָ֭ע וּפִ֨י תַהְפֻּכ֬וֹת שָׂנֵֽאתִי׃
KJV 14 Counsel is mine, and sound wisdom: I am understanding; I have strength.
VULC 14 Meum est consilium et æquitas ;
mea est prudentia, mea est fortitudo.
WLC 14 לִֽי־ עֵ֭צָה וְתוּשִׁיָּ֑ה אֲנִ֥י בִ֝ינָ֗ה לִ֣י גְבוּרָֽה׃
KJV 15 By me kings reign, and princes decree justice.
VULC 15 Per me reges regnant,
et legum conditores justa decernunt ;
WLC 15 בִּ֭י מְלָכִ֣ים יִמְלֹ֑כוּ וְ֝רוֹזְנִ֗ים יְחֹ֣קְקוּ צֶֽדֶק׃
KJV 16 By me princes rule, and nobles, even all the judges of the earth.
VULC 16 per me principes imperant,
et potentes decernunt justitiam.
WLC 16 בִּ֭י שָׂרִ֣ים יָשֹׂ֑רוּ וּ֝נְדִיבִ֗ים כָּל־ שֹׁ֥פְטֵי צֶֽדֶק׃
KJV 17 I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me.
VULC 17 Ego diligentes me diligo,
et qui mane vigilant ad me, invenient me.
WLC 17 אֲ֭נִי אֵהָ֑ב וּ֝מְשַׁחֲרַ֗י יִמְצָאֻֽנְנִי׃
KJV 18 Riches and honour are with me; yea, durable riches and righteousness.

opes superbæ et justitia.

KJV 19 My fruit is better than gold, yea, than fine gold; and my revenue than choice silver.
VULC 19 Melior est enim fructus meus auro et lapide pretioso,
et genimina mea argento electo.
WLC 19 ט֣וֹב פִּ֭רְיִי מֵחָר֣וּץ וּמִפָּ֑ז וּ֝תְבוּאָתִ֗י מִכֶּ֥סֶף נִבְחָֽר׃
KJV 20 I lead in the way of righteousness, in the midst of the paths of judgment:
VULC 20 In viis justitiæ ambulo,
in medio semitarum judicii :
WLC 20 בְּאֹֽרַח־ צְדָקָ֥ה אֲהַלֵּ֑ך בְּ֝ת֗וֹךְ נְתִיב֥וֹת מִשְׁפָּֽט׃
KJV 21 That I may cause those that love me to inherit substance; and I will fill their treasures.
VULC 21 ut ditem diligentes me,
et thesauros eorum repleam.]
WLC 21 לְהַנְחִ֖יל אֹהֲבַ֥י ׀ יֵ֑שׁ וְאֹצְרֹ֖תֵיהֶ֣ם אֲמַלֵּֽא׃
KJV 22 The LORD possessed me in the beginning of his way, before his works of old.
VULC 22 [Dominus possedit me in initio viarum suarum
antequam quidquam faceret a principio.

KJV 23 I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, or ever the earth was.

et ex antiquis antequam terra fieret.

KJV 26 While as yet he had not made the earth, nor the fields, nor the highest part of the dust of the world.
VULC 26 Adhuc terram non fecerat, et flumina,
et cardines orbis terræ.

KJV 27 When he prepared the heavens, I was there: when he set a compass upon the face of the depth:

KJV 28 When he established the clouds above: when he strengthened the fountains of the deep:
VULC 28 quando æthera firmabat sursum,
et librabat fontes aquarum ;
WLC 28 בְּאַמְּצ֣וֹ שְׁחָקִ֣ים מִמָּ֑עַל בַּ֝עֲז֗וֹז עִינ֥וֹת תְּהוֹם׃
KJV 29 When he gave to the sea his decree, that the waters should not pass his commandment: when he appointed the foundations of the earth:
VULC 29 quando circumdabat mari terminum suum,
et legem ponebat aquis, ne transirent fines suos ;
quando appendebat fundamenta terræ :
WLC 29 בְּשׂ֘וּמ֤וֹ לַיָּ֨ם ׀ חֻקּ֗וֹ וּ֭מַיִם לֹ֣א יַֽעַבְרוּ־ פִ֑יו בְּ֝חוּק֗וֹ מ֣וֹסְדֵי אָֽרֶץ׃
KJV 30 Then I was by him, as one brought up with him: and I was daily his delight, rejoicing always before him;
VULC 30 cum eo eram, cuncta componens.
Et delectabar per singulos dies,
ludens coram eo omni tempore,
WLC 30 וָֽאֶהְיֶ֥ה אֶצְל֗וֹ אָ֫מ֥וֹן וָֽאֶהְיֶ֣ה שַׁ֭עֲשֻׁעִים י֤וֹם ׀ י֑וֹם מְשַׂחֶ֖קֶת לְפָנָ֣יו בְּכָל־ עֵֽת׃
KJV 31 Rejoicing in the habitable part of his earth; and my delights were with the sons of men.

et deliciæ meæ esse cum filiis hominum.
WLC 31 מְ֭שַׂחֶקֶת בְּתֵבֵ֣ל אַרְצ֑וֹ וְ֝שַׁעֲשֻׁעַ֗י אֶת־ בְּנֵ֥י אָדָֽם׃
KJV 32 Now therefore hearken unto me, O ye children: for blessed are they that keep my ways.
VULC 32 Nunc ergo, filii, audite me :
beati qui custodiunt vias meas.
WLC 32 וְעַתָּ֣ה בָ֭נִים שִׁמְעוּ־ לִ֑י וְ֝אַשְׁרֵ֗י דְּרָכַ֥י יִשְׁמֹֽרוּ׃
KJV 33 Hear instruction, and be wise, and refuse it not.
VULC 33 Audite disciplinam, et estote sapientes,
et nolite abjicere eam.

KJV 34 Blessed is the man that heareth me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors.

et qui vigilat ad fores meas quotidie,
et observat ad postes ostii mei.

KJV 35 For whoso findeth me findeth life, and shall obtain favour of the LORD.
