KJV ¹ Doth not wisdom cry? and understanding put forth her voice?

LSG ¹ La sagesse ne crie-t-elle pas ? L'intelligence n'élève-t-elle pas sa voix ?

KJV ² She standeth in the top of high places, by the way in the places of the paths.

LSG ² C'est au sommet des hauteurs près de la route, C'est à la croisée des chemins qu'elle se place ;

KJV ³ She crieth at the gates, at the entry of the city, at the coming in at the doors.

LSG ³ A côté des portes, à l'entrée de la ville, A l'intérieur des portes, elle fait entendre ses cris:

KJV ⁴ Unto you, O men, I call; and my voice is to the sons of man.

LSG ⁴ Hommes, c'est à vous que je crie, Et ma voix s'adresse aux fils de l'homme.

KJV ⁵ O ye simple, understand wisdom: and, ye fools, be ye of an understanding heart.

LSG ⁵ Stupides, apprenez le discernement ; Insensés, apprenez l'intelligence.

KJV ⁶ Hear; for I will speak of excellent things; and the opening of my lips shall be right things.

LSG ⁶ Écoutez, car j'ai de grandes choses à dire, Et mes lèvres s'ouvrent pour enseigner ce qui est droit.

KJV ⁷ For my mouth shall speak truth; and wickedness is an abomination to my lips.

LSG ⁷ Car ma bouche proclame la vérité, Et mes lèvres ont en horreur le mensonge ;

KJV ⁸ All the words of my mouth are in righteousness; there is nothing froward or perverse in them.

LSG ⁸ Toutes les paroles de ma bouche sont justes, Elles n'ont rien de faux ni de détourné ;

KJV ⁹ They are all plain to him that understandeth, and right to them that find knowledge.

LSG ⁹ Toutes sont claires pour celui qui est intelligent, Et droites pour ceux qui ont trouvé la science.

KJV ¹⁰ Receive my instruction, and not silver; and knowledge rather than choice gold.

LSG ¹⁰ Préférez mes instructions à l'argent, Et la science à l'or le plus précieux ;

KJV ¹¹ For wisdom is better than rubies; and all the things that may be desired are not to be compared to it.

LSG ¹¹ Car la sagesse vaut mieux que les perles, Elle a plus de valeur que tous les objets de prix.

KJV ¹² I wisdom dwell with prudence, and find out knowledge of witty inventions.

LSG ¹² Moi, la sagesse, j'ai pour demeure le discernement, Et je possède la science de la réflexion.

KJV ¹³ The fear of the LORD is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate.

LSG ¹³ La crainte de l'Éternel, c'est la haine du mal ; L'arrogance et l'orgueil, la voie du mal, Et la bouche perverse, voilà ce que je hais.

KJV ¹⁴ Counsel is mine, and sound wisdom: I am understanding; I have strength.

LSG ¹⁴ Le conseil et le succès m'appartiennent ; Je suis l'intelligence, la force est à moi.

KJV ¹⁵ By me kings reign, and princes decree justice.

LSG ¹⁵ Par moi les rois règnent, Et les princes ordonnent ce qui est juste ;

KJV ¹⁶ By me princes rule, and nobles, even all the judges of the earth.

LSG ¹⁶ Par moi gouvernent les chefs, Les grands, tous les juges de la terre.

KJV ¹⁷ I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me.

LSG ¹⁷ J'aime ceux qui m'aiment, Et ceux qui me cherchent me trouvent.

KJV ¹⁸ Riches and honour are with me; yea, durable riches and righteousness.

LSG ¹⁸ Avec moi sont la richesse et la gloire, Les biens durables et la justice.

KJV ¹⁹ My fruit is better than gold, yea, than fine gold; and my revenue than choice silver.

LSG ¹⁹ Mon fruit est meilleur que l'or, que l'or pur, Et mon produit est préférable à l'argent.

KJV ²⁰ I lead in the way of righteousness, in the midst of the paths of judgment:

LSG ²⁰ Je marche dans le chemin de la justice, Au milieu des sentiers de la droiture,

KJV ²¹ That I may cause those that love me to inherit substance; and I will fill their treasures.

LSG ²¹ Pour donner des biens à ceux qui m'aiment, Et pour remplir leurs trésors.

KJV ²² The LORD possessed me in the beginning of his way, before his works of old.

LSG ²² L'Éternel m'a créée la première de ses oeuvres, Avant ses oeuvres les plus anciennes.

KJV ²³ I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, or ever the earth was.

LSG ²³ J'ai été établie depuis l'éternité, Dès le commencement, avant l'origine de la terre.

KJV ²⁴ When there were no depths, I was brought forth; when there were no fountains abounding with water.

LSG ²⁴ Je fus enfantée quand il n'y avait point d'abîmes, Point de sources chargées d'eaux ;

KJV ²⁵ Before the mountains were settled, before the hills was I brought forth:

LSG ²⁵ Avant que les montagnes soient affermies, Avant que les collines existent, je fus enfantée ;

KJV ²⁶ While as yet he had not made the earth, nor the fields, nor the highest part of the dust of the world.

LSG ²⁶ Il n'avait encore fait ni la terre, ni les campagnes, Ni le premier atome de la poussière du monde.

KJV ²⁷ When he prepared the heavens, I was there: when he set a compass upon the face of the depth:

LSG ²⁷ Lorsqu'il disposa les cieux, j'étais là ; Lorsqu'il traça un cercle à la surface de l'abîme,

KJV ²⁸ When he established the clouds above: when he strengthened the fountains of the deep:

LSG ²⁸ Lorsqu'il fixa les nuages en haut, Et que les sources de l'abîme jaillirent avec force,

KJV ²⁹ When he gave to the sea his decree, that the waters should not pass his commandment: when he appointed the foundations of the earth:

LSG ²⁹ Lorsqu'il donna une limite à la mer, Pour que les eaux n'en franchissent pas les bords, Lorsqu'il posa les fondements de la terre,

KJV ³⁰ Then I was by him, as one brought up with him: and I was daily his delight, rejoicing always before him;

LSG ³⁰ J'étais à l'oeuvre auprès de lui, Et je faisais tous les jours ses délices, Jouant sans cesse en sa présence,

KJV ³¹ Rejoicing in the habitable part of his earth; and my delights were with the sons of men.

LSG ³¹ Jouant sur le globe de sa terre, Et trouvant mon bonheur parmi les fils de l'homme.

KJV ³² Now therefore hearken unto me, O ye children: for blessed are they that keep my ways.

LSG ³² Et maintenant, mes fils, écoutez-moi, Et heureux ceux qui observent mes voies !

KJV ³³ Hear instruction, and be wise, and refuse it not.

LSG ³³ Écoutez l'instruction, pour devenir sages, Ne la rejetez pas.

KJV ³⁴ Blessed is the man that heareth me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors.

LSG ³⁴ Heureux l'homme qui m'écoute, Qui veille chaque jour à mes portes, Et qui en garde les poteaux !

KJV ³⁵ For whoso findeth me findeth life, and shall obtain favour of the LORD.

LSG ³⁵ Car celui qui me trouve a trouvé la vie, Et il obtient la faveur de l'Éternel.

KJV ³⁶ But he that sinneth against me wrongeth his own soul: all they that hate me love death.

LSG ³⁶ Mais celui qui pèche contre moi nuit à son âme ; Tous ceux qui me haïssent aiment la mort.
