Dieu, le Dieu redoutable, l'Eternel parle ;
Il convoque la terre,
Depuis le soleil levant jusqu'au soleil couchant.

KJV ¹ The mighty God, even the LORD, hath spoken, and called the earth from the rising of the sun unto the going down thereof.

BAN ² De Sion, parfaite en beauté, Dieu resplendit.

KJV ² Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God hath shined.

BAN ³ Il vient, notre Dieu, et il ne gardera pas le silence.
Devant lui est un feu dévorant,
Autour de lui une violente tempête.

KJV ³ Our God shall come, and shall not keep silence: a fire shall devour before him, and it shall be very tempestuous round about him.

BAN ⁴ Il crie vers les cieux en haut
Et vers la terre, pour juger son peuple.

KJV ⁴ He shall call to the heavens from above, and to the earth, that he may judge his people.

BAN ⁵ Assemblez-moi mes fidèles,
Qui ont fait alliance avec moi par le sacrifice.

KJV ⁵ Gather my saints together unto me; those that have made a covenant with me by sacrifice.

BAN ⁶ Et les cieux proclament sa justice,
Car c'est Dieu lui-même qui vient juger.

KJV ⁶ And the heavens shall declare his righteousness: for God is judge himself. Selah.

BAN ⁷ Ecoute, mon peuple, et je parlerai,
Et je t'avertirai, ô Israël !
Je suis Dieu, ton Dieu !

KJV ⁷ Hear, O my people, and I will speak; O Israel, and I will testify against thee: I am God, even thy God.

BAN ⁸ Ce n'est pas pour tes sacrifices que j'ai à te reprendre ;
Tes holocaustes sont devant moi toujours.

KJV ⁸ I will not reprove thee for thy sacrifices or thy burnt offerings, to have been continually before me.

BAN ⁹ Je ne prendrai ni taureau dans ta maison,
Ni boucs dans ta bergerie.

KJV ⁹ I will take no bullock out of thy house, nor he goats out of thy folds.

BAN ¹⁰ Car à moi sont tous les animaux des forêts,
Toutes les bêtes des montagnes, par milliers.

KJV ¹⁰ For every beast of the forest is mine, and the cattle upon a thousand hills.

BAN ¹¹ Je connais tous les oiseaux des montagnes,
Et tout ce qui se meut dans les champs m'appartient.

KJV ¹¹ I know all the fowls of the mountains: and the wild beasts of the field are mine.

BAN ¹² Si j'avais faim, je ne t'en dirais rien,
Car c'est à moi qu'est le monde, et tout ce qu'il renferme.

KJV ¹² If I were hungry, I would not tell thee: for the world is mine, and the fulness thereof.

BAN ¹³ Est-ce que je mangerais la chair des taureaux gras ?
Et le sang des boucs, le boirais-je ?

KJV ¹³ Will I eat the flesh of bulls, or drink the blood of goats?

BAN ¹⁴ Offre à Dieu la louange en sacrifice
Et accomplis tes voeux envers le Très-Haut,

KJV ¹⁴ Offer unto God thanksgiving; and pay thy vows unto the most High:

BAN ¹⁵ Et invoque-moi au jour de ta détresse ;
Je te délivrerai, et tu me glorifieras.

KJV ¹⁵ And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.

BAN ¹⁶ Quant au méchant, Dieu lui dit :
Est-ce à toi d'énumérer mes commandements
Et d'avoir mon alliance en ta bouche,

KJV ¹⁶ But unto the wicked God saith, What hast thou to do to declare my statutes, or that thou shouldest take my covenant in thy mouth?

BAN ¹⁷ Toi qui hais la répréhension
Et qui jettes mes paroles derrière toi !

KJV ¹⁷ Seeing thou hatest instruction, and casteth my words behind thee.

BAN ¹⁸ Si tu vois un voleur, tu te plais avec lui,
Et ta part est avec les adultères.

KJV ¹⁸ When thou sawest a thief, then thou consentedst with him, and hast been partaker with adulterers.

BAN ¹⁹ Tu livres ta bouche au mal,
Et ta langue ne fait que tramer la fraude.

KJV ¹⁹ Thou givest thy mouth to evil, and thy tongue frameth deceit.

BAN ²⁰ Tu t'assieds, et tu parles contre ton frère ;
Tu jettes le déshonneur contre le fils de ta mère.

KJV ²⁰ Thou sittest and speakest against thy brother; thou slanderest thine own mother's son.

BAN ²¹ Voilà ce que tu as fait, et je me suis tu :
Tu as cru que j'étais comme toi.
Je vais te reprendre, et tout mettre sous tes yeux.

KJV ²¹ These things hast thou done, and I kept silence; thou thoughtest that I was altogether such an one as thyself: but I will reprove thee, and set them in order before thine eyes.

BAN ²² Prenez-y donc garde, vous qui oubliez Dieu,
De peur que je ne déchire, sans que personne délivre !

KJV ²² Now consider this, ye that forget God, lest I tear you in pieces, and there be none to deliver.

BAN ²³ Celui qui pour sacrifice offre la louange me glorifie,
Et il trace un chemin
Sur lequel je lui ferai voir le salut de Dieu.

KJV ²³ Whoso offereth praise glorifieth me: and to him that ordereth his conversation aright will I shew the salvation of God.
