KJV ²⁹ And Jacob sod pottage: and Esau came from the field, and he was faint:

MAR ²⁹ Or comme Jacob cuisait du potage, Esaü arriva des champs, et il était las.

WLC ²⁹ וַיָּ֥זֶד יַעֲקֹ֖ב נָזִ֑יד וַיָּבֹ֥א עֵשָׂ֛ו מִן־ הַשָּׂדֶ֖ה וְה֥וּא עָיֵֽף׃

KJV ³⁰ And Esau said to Jacob, Feed me, I pray thee, with that same red pottage; for I am faint: therefore was his name called Edom.

MAR ³⁰ Et Esaü dit à Jacob : Donne-moi, je te prie, à manger de ce roux, de ce roux ; car je suis las. C'est pourquoi on appela son nom, Edom.

WLC ³⁰ וַיֹּ֨אמֶר עֵשָׂ֜ו אֶֽל־ יַעֲקֹ֗ב הַלְעִיטֵ֤נִי נָא֙ מִן־ הָאָדֹ֤ם הָאָדֹם֙ הַזֶּ֔ה כִּ֥י עָיֵ֖ף אָנֹ֑כִי עַל־ כֵּ֥ן קָרָֽא־ שְׁמ֖וֹ אֱדֽוֹם׃

KJV ³¹ And Jacob said, Sell me this day thy birthright.

MAR ³¹ Mais Jacob lui dit : Vends-moi aujourd'hui ton droit d'aînesse.

WLC ³¹ וַיֹּ֖אמֶר יַעֲקֹ֑ב מִכְרָ֥ה כַיּ֛וֹם אֶת־ בְּכֹֽרָתְךָ֖ לִֽי׃

KJV ³² And Esau said, Behold, I am at the point to die: and what profit shall this birthright do to me?

MAR ³² Et Esaü répondit : Voici je m'en vais mourir ; et de quoi me servira le droit d'aînesse ?

WLC ³² וַיֹּ֣אמֶר עֵשָׂ֔ו הִנֵּ֛ה אָנֹכִ֥י הוֹלֵ֖ךְ לָמ֑וּת וְלָמָּה־ זֶּ֥ה לִ֖י בְּכֹרָֽה׃

KJV ³³ And Jacob said, Swear to me this day; and he sware unto him: and he sold his birthright unto Jacob.

MAR ³³ Et Jacob dit : Jure-moi aujourd'hui ; et il lui jura ; ainsi il vendit son droit d'aînesse à Jacob.

WLC ³³ וַיֹּ֣אמֶר יַעֲקֹ֗ב הִשָּׁ֤בְעָה לִּי֙ כַּיּ֔וֹם וַיִּשָּׁבַ֖ע ל֑וֹ וַיִּמְכֹּ֥ר אֶת־ בְּכֹרָת֖וֹ לְיַעֲקֹֽב׃

KJV ³⁴ Then Jacob gave Esau bread and pottage of lentiles; and he did eat and drink, and rose up, and went his way: thus Esau despised his birthright.

MAR ³⁴ Et Jacob donna à Esaü du pain, et du potage de lentilles ; et il mangea, et but ; puis il se leva, et s'en alla ; ainsi Esaü méprisa son droit d'aînesse.

WLC ³⁴ וְיַעֲקֹ֞ב נָתַ֣ן לְעֵשָׂ֗ו לֶ֚חֶם וּנְזִ֣יד עֲדָשִׁ֔ים וַיֹּ֣אכַל וַיֵּ֔שְׁתְּ וַיָּ֖קָם וַיֵּלַ֑ךְ וַיִּ֥בֶז עֵשָׂ֖ו אֶת־ הַבְּכֹרָֽה׃
